you take us on another level of entertainment mergim, im impressed
This shows the daily struggles of ordinary Filipino commuters, because let's be honest the public transportation in Metro Manila is inefficient. Makati Ayala Avenue is only like 15-25 minutes away from BGC, and yet you still have to walk a long way or take at least 2 rides get to BGC. There are no official designated jeepney stops, which might be confusing specilally if you're a foreigner. The traffic is also horrendous during rush hour. 😓
8:48 Mergim seating on the edge. Hang on tight! 12:25 Whoa, epic montage, I like it! That's quite an adventure.🤙
2 options - (1) Jeepney to Ayala EDSA, then take BGC Bus. (2) Jeepney to Guadalupe, Jeepney to Market Market.
Respect doing that man! One of the best vlogs I've seen!
Brgy. Pitogo is a cheap alternative area for temporary bedspaces or quarters for the working class in BGC, especially from far flung provinces, previousely notorius area but now people are more welcoming and friendly, because soon this will be the next extension of BGC...next time bus experience is better from One Ayala terminal.
The most convenient way to go to BGC by commuting: go to Edsa BGC bus terminal near MRT Ayala Stn, it's just one ride direct to Market2 (16 peso fare).
i feel like this video did quite well bc you did more stuff that was filipino, and really immersed yourself in how they are, good job!
This is one of the major drawbacks of living in BGC. It is NOT easily accessible by public transport esp when coming from the Western side of the region. It is unlike Makati which is accessible by every means of transport from anywhere in Metro Manila. Train, bus, jeep, and even tricycles... every means of transport has access to the Makati CBD (Ayala Ave.) and every one of these is free-flowing meaning all these transports are constantly moving in and out of Makati and not in a terminal like system where they have to fill their capacity first before leaving.
@mocabe01 He was willing to do the hardest way just for entaintainment purposes if he went to easy way he just go to ayala terminal and theres a BGC bus there. The 2 ladies accompany him but declined and went to the hsrdway for content.
I like what you did here, showing how most locals do it. More videos like this please.
You put me at the edge of my seat watching you.. You took the risks and made it through. Im proud of you Mr Chair. Here's to 200K subscribers 🍻
Tricycles in the Philippines have their own designated routes, depending on where they are stationed (most are color coded too, so that you would know which Tricycle to use). I believe the reason why your rider didn't know where to go was because he doesn't usually go on those parts.
Mergim.. u r one of a kind..
That's how hard an ordinary Filipino citizen travel from work to home. That is why others opt to work from home via net. At least now Mergim has tried how hard it is to commute during rush hour. That would be 5 to 9 pm.
Long time subscriber but this video compelled me to comment for the first time. Awesome job!
As a local, this is so painful to watch. All these big cities but a pain to get to. Our leaders don’t care about the common man.
You should have gone to the last stop of Guadalupe. There's jeepneys there that go straight to Market Market.
And it's a very big challenge for foreigners to take the local transportation, which is jeepneys and tricycles! Sometimes,or even most of the times you need to stand in a very long queue. Depending on where you are going there are certain routes you can take jerpney to your destination. I am a female foreigner and I needed to soon learn quickly how to manuevre my way back home. Lucky my husband( Filippino) taught me how and where to get tricycle or jerpney, and also not one route, but there are other routes to take which are more quicker to arrive to your destination. My husband and I take jerpney or tricycle only. But if necessary we are in a hurry and need to get where we are going quicker, and in case of emergency we take taxi or Grab. Yep that is how it rolls in the Phils. Reality, take jerpney/ tricycle. It becomes very expensive eventually when living in the Phils.
Personally speaking! For me, that was one of your most entertaining videos. Really life moving about in a major city. I live in Bangkok, and I hate moving about in rush hour. Good video, well done.
Walk to ayala MRT then the bus terminal is on the other side. Makati and BGC are basically walking distance.
You always find a most creative way to enhance your content- I enjoy watching your vlogs - more power!!!
With a Caption... "foreiner first time to "Sabit" in a Jeepney in the Philippines"
Hi Mergim, riding keepney gives you the chance to experience the daily ocommute of majority of the populace. Changing transport to go home after work. All the best to your channel. May your subscribers grow a thousand times. 👍🏻
Exhaustion is easy to bear, mate, but having the experience which locals usually have is something to reckon with. You're a beacon of patience in that manner, I must say. Do what's best for your vlog, mate. Take care!
This video is one of the most unique you’ve shown us. It’s so amazing to see you ride and hang on a jeepney and ride a tricycle. Great job Mergim showing us the outskirts of BGC and being totally game to try to experience how the locals deal with their daily commute!
Wow Mer,this is awesome😉🤩💯💝thank's a lot to this video i enjoy wachting you❤❤❤
You took the long way. From Ayala Ave, you could have just got on a jeepney to Edsa, cross Edsa using the overpass, and walk to the BGC bus terminal.
What an adventure! Staying local is fun😄
ah... unique video coming from this chanel.. quite entertaining to watch -!! loving it Mr Merge!
your next challenge point don't say a word point
from makati to bgc you take ayala washington jeep then get off to mckinley terminal then take market market jeep or bgc bus to go go bgc
I love this video, Mergim! Having to experience being a local. Do more videos like these!
That’s so brave of you to hang out of that jeepney and ride the tricycle at that area. Stay safe out there…
Yeah right that area is not safe..
The magnetic camera clip on the jeep. Nice shot
I’m liking this new kind of vlogging.
Yeah! Cool Bruce Wayne! I like that! 😁You're now like a filipino bro! 🙏😊🤙🇵🇭
This is why I came back to the province after working in Manila for a while. Commuting is a nightmare during rush hour. People are like zombies waiting for a jeepney or a bus with space. And the queue in the MRT is ridiculously long. During christmas season, it's even worse because so many people are out shopping. It will take me 2 hours just to go home. So even though I have a car now, I dont want to work in Manila anymore. The peaceful life in the province suit me better.
Riding a jeep and bus are pretty chaotic here so be careful. It is part of our daily lives and resilency.
Its easier to just walk from that spot in ayala to one ayala mall and ride bgc bus. If you dont want to walk, theres also a jeep going to ayala that you just saw 7:40
Letsss gooo a vlog showcasing the commute of the locals and it's more than 10 mins!! Keep em' coming
This is why I left Manila, the traffic is so bad all the time you can get stuck places.
Hands down to you man!!! Grabe galing mo to do that commute and immerse yourself. 🎉
Imagine thats what we Filipinos have been doing everyday of our lives..thats exhausting as you would've say. But i appreciate sharing your experience though. Great vid!👍👍👍
The fences along makati is that's for safety of the people working in business district to prevent holdapings in riding in tandem,.
I ❤ the Jeepney both times I traveled to the Phillipines I routinely jumped on and off around Manila, soo much fun 😂🤣
yeah for us it is -- locally, or everyday - it's not comfortable/
Hats off to you Mergim. Another kind of content.
If you are in Manila long-term, buy a little 125cc scooter/motorbike. It's a very quick and cheap way of getting around and not limited by the rush hour. As long as you ride carefully, it's fine. Or you could have walked to BGC in an hour from Makati.
Pure unadulterated commuting experience mate. Well done😊
When I stayed in BGC last year, I went to SM Shoemart along EDSA. When I went back to BGC I crossed EDSA along Ayala Ave. and at the corner of EDSA and Ayala is where the jeepney drivers are waiting for passengers going to Market Market.
Amazing!
Awesome ride my friend.....loved it. Its an adventure for sure seeing the sights and sounds of Manila
I love the sound of that exhaust!
Omg just watching this and I truly admire you Mergim your content is always incredible ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love that short b-roll with the epic sound, keep up with the good vlogging... Do take care of yourself!
Imagine the daily struggle of filipino workers in M.Mla, commuting is really a big challenge especially during rush hrs. It was a good and fun experience though for you to find your way to BGC. Take care and stay safe when you go around metro, Mergim. 😊❤
1000 likes! Was laughing the whole time! Oh I miss Philippines..
I love videos that is very reflective to us in our everyday lifestyle... you make my day again Sir! 💪
Atleast you can try how pilipino everyday commute its a good kuya mergim❤❤❤😊😊😊
That's what you call real adventure, good luck Mergim... take care and be safe..👍😁😜😅😜😅😂
We have this saying "when in Rome, do like what the Romans do". That's what you exactly did in this vlog of yours Mergim... ❤
It’s more fun in the Phil, huh Mergim! You took us to the next level! Love it! Just be safe outthere!! You’re making us miss our country! More power to your channel!
BGC is just the next city over from Makati. What I did was go to Ayala One, cross the EDSA bridge to the other side. Go down 2 blocks south and get on the Market Market jeep. It’s not too bad unless it’s humid and/or raining.
Avoid anytime after 4pm weekdays and more importantly avoid payday Fridays.
Living on the edge ey Mergim
best one to ask would be the drivers themselves.
each jeepneys or tricycles have their respective routes. and they know the ins and outs of a city.
just be careful of tricycles coz "sometimes" they tent to hike up the rate.
the best way to ride a trike is to ask 2-3 tricycle drivers and compare the price.
if you want for a jeep to stop for you, you just have to raise your hand.
but in makati, you'll have to look for stops or terminals.
im not totally sure but i believe there's a bus from makati to bgc..its just one ride from ayala to bgc
Pretty cool that was entertaining seeing you in the trike. Being your height you must of felt like a sardine.
You save like 300 pesos mergim by taking the jeepney and the trike..wow great job
Mergim you're so cool! Riding a jeep like that! Hope to meet you somewhere in BGC soon and take a picture with you. HAHA. Love this vid!
There's another way from makati to BGC easier and cheaper.
From Guadalupe just ride a jeep going to BGC, that's just 12 pesos going to market market.
That's it 🙂
Awesome, you've outdone yourself. Maybe do some more for these routes so the local BGC expats learn the routes. I took one to Cloud9 and it had a similar vibe, loud music, great speakers, and felts like a party bus
Wow that was a mission bro...riding through all them sketchy areas😮....😎👌
Ur contents lately are great. Kudos!
With tricycles, it's good you negotiated the price beforehand because some might gouge you with surprise exorbitant special fare. If they ignored your instructions it probably leads to a dead end.
Some may give you a run around joy ride detour then they charge you with exorbitant surprise special fare. Be careful.
Ths was me 1st month in Mero Manila. After the 2nd month I tried finding more optimal and comfortable route and I did.
Dude you are experiencing a Literal Manila Boy from commuting and riding the Jeep. We Do That since the 90s and that totally gave me the nostalgia when I was in high school and Collage hahaha we go and just hang on the back of the Jeep that make the ride dangerous but adventurous also you don't need to pay immediately. You just need to do the technique called 1-2-3 hahaha
Goodmorning Mergim 😘 I haven’t experience that eversince riding at the back of the jeepney😱Are you alright buddy? Sending hugs for you 🤗
Jeepney's travel down 10th ave and stop behind JP morgan, corner 38th, headed to and from Market Market.
Wow! What an adventure, Mergim….:)
Very impressive. Im just hooked to the phone watching
That was loads of fun though… I should try that again. Wonder if they’ll give me a senior citizen discount 😂
Wait for the MRT going to Uptown connecting Makati & other parts of Metro Manila but that will be few years away if not decade maybe depending who's in Malacanang..
Transportation and traffic in The Philippines is disaster, from the city to going from island to island. Watching people queueing for jeepneys and UVs makes me cry
If a tricycle driver deliberately ignored you even if you seem to can afford the specials fare rate chances are there is some kind of a problem like they have a very small type of cabin that will probably discomfort you.
I enjoy these types of vlogs senior Mergim. The underbelly of the Manila transportation. Hahahaha. Consider taking the MRT.😊
Very tiring going home mergim... But still a good video. 👍😊
*daily commute*
no wonder why some tagalog redditors (especially from manila) were uprooting to cebu city becoz of the hard daily commute in NCR
in fact, they're not going back anytime soon
This Jeepney ride is one of your most fun ride....ha.ha.ha....BE safe.....
21:30 balut ❤❤❤
ingats kuya mergim on hitchhiking in jeepneys.
This guy is pretty rad. I havent seen foreign vlogger that have done this. good shit
That was a fun adventure!
I usually take tricycles, MRT and use Grab very occasionally.
Hahahaha, you are so much fun and crazy!
The fence is to prevent walking on the street like what youre doing...
My gosh. You have the courage to hang on the back of a jeepney. Travelling on open public transportation in Metro Manila, you have to wear a mask, or you will inhale all the pollution out there.
Oh man you’re hilarious lol cool though lol
That’s priceless adventure would love to experience that lol
Edit: love the spontaneity of the footages lol
Walking from Makati to BGC is definitely the shortcut way that supposed to do during rush hour.
Please, riding in the air-conditioned bus might be safer than riding in the jeepney or in the non-air-conditioned bus. Riding in the air-conditioned F.X. might also be safer than riding in the jeepney or in the non-air-conditioned
bus.
Jeepney ride for experience? Why not? Fun fact- hanging at the back of the jeepney is called sabit. 😊
Ill be honest even me as a filipino i wouldn't have done what you did there ... Kudos to you mergim you're the goat
4:15 the poor girls struggling to give directions, that just shows how bad the public transport is in the Philippines
