I love Alien Ant Farm but pure vibes aren’t enough to become highly rated. You need a great songwriter, and they plainly did not have one. Wish, Smooth Criminal and Movie are basically their only hits. 1 is a cover and another only got popular because of Tony Hawk’s. In essence, they’re a 1 hit wonder; Movies.

@@FactsBeFacts Yea, he sand the chorus like an octave lower or something which really takes the wind out of the song. A lot of young, energetic bands write their vocal melodies at the top of their range, and it's hard to sing there every night on tour, especially as you get older. True, it could be a stylistic choice here, but, like I said, it absolutely took the wind out of the hook.

Amazing how he still sounds so good. And the band. Takes me back to being 9years old, one of the first albums I bought was ANThology, can’t wait to see them in London November time, gonna be pure nostalgia.
@@closinginonclosure this is exactly how they used to play it 20 odd years ago when they would do it acoustically. when Movies first came out this version was one of the b-sides.
@@martinlynch2965 Yes, I'm aware. You may have misunderstood my sentiment. Tons of bands pitch down acoustic versions and take certain liberties for an acoustic version. That's very normal because it's obviously a stripped down version with acoustic energy. I wasn't suggesting that they only did this because he can't sing it in a higher range. I was just saying that despite being pitched down, he's still struggling and definitely doesn't sound like he used to. I've heard the old recording of the acoustic version, and I've heard various performances on radio stations and stuff. He used to sound much better and have much better control. Alien Ant Farm is one of those bands where it doesn't matter what kind of sub-genres of rock and metal people are into, everyone has a major soft-spot for them - me & my friends loved them in the 2000's
Hell yeah guys. The video for movies was one of my favorite videos of those times brings back a lot of good memories, so thanks for playing this for us guys
You could have told me years ago that I would need to hear Alien Ant Farm to make me feel nostalgic in a way I haven’t in a long time. I would have told you were crazy. I’m so happy to be here today.
Man, I first heard your band on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and bough ANThology because of it. That record was perfection. From time to time I still come back to it. Great to see that you're still sounding the same:)
just saw them on the 4th in Chicago. the best show i've been to in a very long ass time. These guys saved my life on so many occasions. i cannot thank them enough.
Dead friend use to love this track Hilarious seeing a giant 6'4 mexican dude belting this song out with his whole heart We miss you Jeremy, thanks for always forgetting your wallet, letting me in the club for free, and your presence bro.

I knew the singer had a good voice, but man… He killed it.
Totally disagree, he couldn't perform it worse if he tried. Key changes in pitch that are integral to the song are completely missing.
@@FactsBeFactsThis is a toned down acoustic version after all. They're not necessarily sung the same way as the original studio track.

WHAAAAAT I had no idea they were visiting the UK
He sounds awful here.
You think this sounds good? 🤔 Your ears ok, bud? He pitched the song down to make it easier to sing, and still sounds rough.

Tye was the heart of this band. His presence is sorely missed.
exactly what I was thinking
Feels like an AAF cover band now.
Nah, he was way too cringe. I actually prefer the band without him in it.

💯💯💯💯 hard agree brother
These guys were ahead of thier time for sure... love them
Undoubtedly one of the songs from this era and style that has aged the best musically
Holy shit his voice is SO damn good. Its aged like wine!!
Your single was the first I ever purchased with money I earned.
The second CD I ever bought was Anthology 🤘🏻
LOVE this song, stoked that in 2024 we get an Idobi Acoustic Sess from them!!!!
Man the nostalgia is real, loved aaf still do
Such an underrated song and band. Love it!
Man I love these guys! They were so underrated.
They still are
I just feel really sad that we are getting older. Didn’t realise how good all this was back then
Some of the guitar choices in this version are puzzling.
How is no one else mentioning this? 🤣
The bridge - oof lol.
It's some prog nonsense going around in rock and metal these days. Even Nickelback's latest album was mostly crap.
Love them but they butchered one of my favourite songs
I remember jamming to this album, sun 41 and blink 182 when I was in like first grade. Damn those were the days!! This song was always my favorite ant farm jam.
It's a good ant fart jar.
Still hits the feels every time man, love it.
This is my favorite AAF song. This sounds PERFECT 💜
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
I love them so much. I am glad they are still making music! Their new album is ace!
Wow some heavy nod to Sabbath on this one 🤘most excellent
Much respect from the UK

this was-ah great-ah
kinda wish he mixed it up and sang in the higher register for some of the choruses but he's still a great singer
Yeah, missed opportunity there. His voice still sounds as good as it did way back when, but I missed the original melody in this version.
acoustic version, keeping it chill. I love it
Tye, the original bassist, did the higher vocals in that part.

In the space and time that I am right now, I listen to this song in a daily basics.

I remember thier first album being an absolute banger. But non of my mates liked it. Still blasted it on my own tho.
Voz única y privilegiada. Excelente!
I've seen many performances of Movies, this is without a doubt the absolute best.
Saw these guys around 2002 at Christchurch University in New Zealand, was a great gig.
I saw them in Texas few months ago....great show, super underrated band that deserves all the praise.
Movie is my favourite AAF song and this give me goosebumps! Dryden's voice has aged like a fine wine and the whole band give it an amazing backing.
What an awesome song!
PS.. Loving the South African Flag on the bass guitar!
Who is he? South african dude?
