    We started using flashcards with our son at 14 months, he learned ABC's by 16 months and 150 words by 18 months, now he's almost 2 years and he talks and sings, and communicates very clearly. Even if your child shows early signs of intelligence you have to remember that emotionally he or she is still a child and they're still going to have the same emotional outbursts (aka brattiness or tantrums) that any child their age is going to have. Also, yelling at your child is completely pointless because they will learn much more from how you act than by what you say..

CAPITAL F and small f. The nurse was impressed. sai d ' clever girl. she could do puzzles very fast. their brains are like a computer needing input. But dont cram thngs in. when she went to school i never let her touch her school books during her holidays. she was free to relax and have fun. unlike some parents hwo will send their children for remedial classes or what ever....children need to unwind.

      You've got the most important comment! I have seen people who regularly shout at and scold their small children..then the children don't listen, because they can't understand why their parents shout at them. So the parents just keep shouting at them again..It's so sad..

    The answer is don't depend on schools to do the work you should be doing. My daughter is three and can read already. She learned all her phonics sounds and alphabets by age 2. I read to her every morning and night. I played lots of word and letter matching games. And she also speaks Chinese. And she is not Chinese.

    As a mother who breastfeeds exclusively, there is nothing wrong with formula. Stop hating on formula. Breast is not best, fed is best. Some mothers are unable to breastfeed and have no choice but to use formula, or they do so for personal reasons. You're all being bigoted by judging a mother for trying to do nothing but keep her child fed and healthy. That kind of bigoted thinking is what will be your downfall. The only time a parent should judge another is if there is neglect or abuse or something going on that will harm the child or their future. Feeding formula is not one of those things.

    I do agree with all the activities they do. However being an early years teacher and montessori teacher I do nor agree with the intelligence part. If it was so then people in olden times never used to have lots of toys and so many of these facilities yet they were intelligent develop more patience and kindness and above all capable of doing so much in life and comparative to towards kids who have got all the facilities and worldly comforts but lack mental strength and are far more in stress. It's all about parents unbringing you don't need to have many toys and materials to be intelligent or smart. All it takes is parents giving their time and energy to bond with their kids and to be there for their kids and it makes kids smart confident and mentally strong.

    My brother is the youngest of 8 children. My parents had a much more relaxed parenting approach by the time he came along. They just went with the flow. He could play a computerized "guess the number" game (between 1 and 100) when he was two years old. For example, if he guessed 47, and the computer told him it was incorrect and his remaining options were between 47 and 100, he would know not to enter a number lower than 47. He also understood his options if he next entered 87 for example and the computer said it was now between 47 and 87. He completely understood the game at just 2 years old. We have a home video of him playing it when he's two years and 2 months old. He is not the focus of the video, he just appears playing in the background, and you can hear the computer calling out the information. He could also identify numbers and letters at that age. I also remember him at three or four years old, when one day he was playing with his spidermen while my parents and my brother and I were playing a country capitals quiz. I was around 10, and my other brother was 7. We always played this, but my younger brother didn't. However, he somehow absorbed the info. I remember we were playing, and my mother asked someone the capital of Afghanistan, and I heard my little brother say Kabul. I told my mother, and then we stopped our game so that we could ask my little brother the capitals of other countries. To our shock, he had been a little sponge and knew so many of them despite never having actively played with us. I really have to say that my parents didn't do anything special with him. He is an expert at general knowledge nowadays and very intelligent. He studied accountancy, not math or science.

    I understand that it is important to have a "smart" baby but what about social and emotional intelligence? Are these parents putting as much effort into those skills? I would say they are more important than memorizing flash cards. Like yes, your child knows what an equilateral triangle is, but can they empathize or control their own emotions? Definitely what I will be working on more with my son.

    Very interesting to hear how others experiment with their kids development. One of the things my wife and I are experimenting with, is doing family activities at home.
    We found that if we make music with our son he really enjoys it and we can bond in a unique way to make the best out of his childhood and also help to develop the brain in a fun way.
    Do any of you also experiment with this? If so, what are your experiences? Do you have background music on during playtime?
    I recently started a channel named Songs For Cool Kids, where I would like to help others experiment with music.
    I am very keen to hear from other parents. Thanks in advance. Hope you have a great day.

She drinks every two hours, in the evening even more frequently and in the night as well. I let her drink whenever she wants to drink and she is still quite fat at the age of 9 month.

Why would comments be disabled when it can serve as a platform for discussion? Would CNA care to comment why? Is it because of the 1-sided coverage of the issue?

      Yes, I used the synthetic DHA formula for my Baby and I believe it harmed him. He is now 16 but had a lot of medical, physical, and developmental delays as a baby. With lots of therapy it helped him get better but he still struggles socially and is not as mature as other kids his age. Once he gets to his 20's their will be no longer any gaps between him and others his age or older.

    Why are people so obsessed with making their babies "smart"? Being smart in no way ensures the baby will grow up to be successful, wise, mature, make good decisions, do anything meaningful, or be HAPPY. Child could still end up being unemployed, addicted to drugs, going to prison. There are so many things more important. And as someone who was labelled a "gifted child", let me tell you, having a high IQ is overrated and can cause as many problems as it solves, particularly in the social department. I learnt the hard way, it takes more than natural ability to actually succeed in life. Sure, it's good to have your child meet their milestones and even better if they're bright and love to learn. But this whole idea is so prevalent and it seems so myopic to me in terms of the bigger picture of what it means to be human and to raise well rounded little humans. So let me ask, how can we raise smarter PARENTS?

      The sooner your child can talk with you the sooner you can help them with emotional intelligence and coping skills for daily life. You can avoid the phase of your child getting frustrated with you not understanding their needs and desires, and u getting frustrated with your child not understanding your responses.

    I don´t know. I was working as a practical nurse in a Swedish neonatal ward and the stimuli was said to elevate the blood pressure in the babies brain. at least in premature babies, have fragile fine bloodvessels in their brains and these could actually burst and cause an internal bleeding in the brain when they are too stimulated. To much stimulation in this circumstance even means to loud noises, like another babys cry. the babies attending these classes probably have no relationship to the pictures shown or knows what a clock is, the probably wonders if they could eat it? it´s just two ladies speaking very fast. who knows maybe the sound of a fast speaker has some benefit? Maybe it´s the fact that they see other parents with their babys in a new enviroment? is it the journey to the class that is beneficial? I wonder if these classes could be over stimulating and much like too much gaming or TV watching could cause attention deficits in these children in later life. Imagine going to the baby stimulation class compare that with sitting in a classroom where "nothing much is happening", could definatly be so boring that you stop listening

    Instead of teaching kids to be super smart; why not teaching them to be super kind; generous and optimistic? If super smart kids turn bad; becomes the most evils group in the world.

    I think that these classes are unlikely to change the children into little geniuses. It's just like the kind of play they may get at home, only non-stop and sped up to a hectic pace. The danger of it would be an expectation of continued stimulation, which they are unlikely to get in their homes, or even in schools. Babies seem to enjoy 'chewing things over' and enjoy the same book over and over again. It may be exciting for them going to a playroom like this one, where there are lots of other infants and a lot of stimulation, but I think it's rather unnatural to go at that speed, and to keep doing so. What about their own imaginations? There's no time for that. It's fact after fact, flashcard after flashcard. Dreaming and imagination are completely pushed aside. It's robotic. Who wants to be like a machine? How do they approach art and painting? Does that have to be done as fast as possible too? We may end up with manic kiddies who make demands on the adults around them to provide them incessant stimulation, and will not sit still for a minute, even to read a book. Toys thrown aside in a matter of minutes. Complaints of boredom once they have flicked through the pictures and pages read at superspeed. Is that really what parents want? Granny will be out of the bedroom in 20 seconds when going to read them a bedtime story! Will we have the energy to keep up with these superkids, who may have completed their degree courses by 12 years old?

    Just because a child can differentiate a car and a truck doesn’t mean he understands weight and gas mileage... just because he can differentiate an equilateral triangle from an obtuse one doesn’t mean he understands basic geometry. It just shows he can IDENTIFY basic geometric shapes.

      I tend to think the higher your IQ the more wrong you can see in the world and that can be depressing. All a smart person can do is meditate and do their best to focus on the positive aspects of life. Do exercises like a regular listing of things to be grateful for etc. I have a high IQ and suffer from depression sometimes despite seeming like I have it all.

      Depends on the person and how much pressure is applied to them. There's often too much expectation, or too specific expectations (e.g. go to an Ivy League school, anything outside of STEM is unacceptable except maybe law or business) that is just very heavy to deal with. Especially since intelligence has a genetic component, so smart people have to contend with having accomplished family members as well. Not only do you have to keep up with or even surpass them, you don't feel good about your high achievements because they were expected of you/you didn't have a choice but to succeed/they're nothing compared to those of your family members.
      My certificate wall has "only" my Bachelor's diploma, Master's diploma, professional certification, and state license to practice in my field. I.e. it's threadbare. No one in my family has told me that, it's just how I feel, but I love my job and don't need anything else to do it.

    Photographic memory is not possible in normal human brains, and deteriorates with age, and in traumatic brain injury, in order for you to develop neurons faster then you are destroying them, they make you exercise and cut sugar and alleviate brain inflammation, like DHA does, as much as possible. So, getting them to move and do a ketogenic diet and adding nutrients from vitamins would be the best option.

    • @johnpachkoski4637
      @johnpachkoski4637 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Additionally, its better to make them learn memory techniques to use for later on in life to boost the area that grand memory champions use in their brain that is notably bigger than people who dont use their memory as much and as effectively as they do.

    • @johnpachkoski4637
      @johnpachkoski4637 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its also worth noting that, Any actions with a baby, impacts their long term development, so getting them to use their left brain as early as possible would be better, than to use their right brain for just focusing and "speed flashcard reading" as learning to focus wont be a skill that would just deteriorate. DHA makes bigger brains, allowing for more connections and is in fish, and of which we evolved from the bottom of the ocean floor with.

    the first 3 years are the most important for education? Why then isnt there a school for infants? LIke a mandatory one like the ones that start by 5 years of age? Im not saying we absolutely should have this, but if its so important, why is it left to parents who some of which dont spend enough time with their children during this time, (Educationally)
