      ... yes you can? You can definitely want equality, especially in larger society and still have your own relationship dynamics. Straight up part of feminism is reworking the idea that wanting to be traditionally feminine = weak. If the guy paying for everything in a relationship, or a woman being a stay at home mother while the guy makes money is what works for people, then good for them, and part of feminism is empowering women to do that too if that’s what they want. Also, why should women have to compromise wanting a traditionally romantic relationship with having general equality? Isn’t that fucked up? We shouldn’t be basing whether or not women deserve to be equal (in pay/safety/being objectified) on if they pay for a meal. Basically being entitled really not cool but people can be feminist/want equality and still enjoy traditional relationship dynamics

    I’m all for standards. My wife and I met through friends having a get together at a bar for drinks and we go on all types of simple and fun dates.
    I feel that some women have this major entitlement and spoiled attitude because they know they’re attractive. Acting like you’re above a walk or a coffee date just makes her so unattractive. A lot of these Tik tok/IG “dating coaches” give some of the most questionable tips and advice I’ve ever heard.
    I think people like her have a real hard time forming real connections because they come with these check lists of what they expect in a mate and it all just leads to a lot of shallow, empty relationships.

  • @brittanym58
    @brittanym58 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As someone married nearly 2 decades, I don't think the first girl was wrong. Dinner has always been a standard first date option. She didn't say Michelin stars. She didn't say she'd never go grab coffee. But she does appear to want a traditional role and relationship, which means she probably expects the man to true to pursue and impress like men are wired to do. A walk as a first date? Nah, I'd pass, too. Feels like you had to pencil me into the part of your day between points A and B. And I agree with no bars on first (or second) dates.

  • @cocoskirt
    @cocoskirt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yep, massive red flag when the women I’m talking to thinks that she doesn’t have to make an effort to impress me and behaves like it’s just me that needs to do the work and make a good impression. Reeks of entitlement, self-centredness and an over inflated ego. Won’t waste any time there once that’s established.
    People need to learn humility and the value of a relationship. It takes two to tango.

    I absolutely loved this one Courtney! I agree, if we want equality it should mean 50/50 in all aspects. Also this is something we should know about our partner before the first date. For instance there are some guys who get upset if she pays her part just like there are girls who expect the guy to pay for it all. But if it up front then there wont be an issue on the date.

Obviously a nice coffee shop, not Starbucks. If it goes well and you hit it off it's really easy to suggest the 2nd date, which can then be drinks or dinner. For one thing, you know by then if you actually WANT to spend more time with her.

    This is the issue - strong and independent women these days want to date but they’re so strong and independent men don’t feel like they can compliment or give anything of any value to these kinds of women. Let a man play his part bc he has a part to play towards your dating success. And it’s also so much fun when men and women play their part, don’t you think?! I think it’s great! 😍

In heterosexual couples, especially if you’re thinking about marriage, men and women are not equal, we bring different things that men will never be able to provide, its sad to see women thinking they’re not worth more than a random ass walk or a coffee. You know what, whatever. You keep your 50/50 relationships, I’m good.

  • @komandorbentus2731

    Jeez, I met such one girl...the best definition is "leech" - she has showed so many red flags, that I stopped any comunication with her.
    1) Getting mad at print house employee because a saved document file she gave to print resulted in incorrect print (not employee fault that we gave incorrect file, also computer mishaps can happen) and she had to pay literally just 0.5 $ more for corrected print because employee corrected our mistake in file saving and even managed to make high quality print - it was a technical drawing for her project so she could pass her course finally.
    2) Why she offered to participate for dancing lessons as a partner for dance and not coming to lessons leaving me without partner to dance... There was any information about absence or even "sorry" - couple times in a row.
    3) Calling on phone and asking if I am at home and she can borrow money out of blue, without telling a reason and what happened - I wasn't at home, so I declined.
    4) Not wanting to do anything with her project to pass final engineer exam, then wanting me to help while deadline is close and not even saying "thank you" after passing first part, where without my help she was unable to pass. So I didn't bother if she passed last part. Communication cut off.
    This is sad. Meet a girl with a kind of look that hits your hormones and you get that false first good impression after first talk, but if you listen and observe longer then you spot such a turn off. But it happens and I am happy I didn't went immediately for close relationship.

    The message at the end of this video is awesome. People need to let go of their preconceived notions about modern dating and remember we are just human beings.
    I do think it is important to check somebody behaving like this before you just move on though. I agree that continued unreciprocated effort spells the end of a relationship and that the behavior is a huge red flag, but there are also plenty of good people out there doing this to you even though they actually genuinely like you. Modern dating's abysmal state has left a lot of people with low confidence in their dating lives which gets them more caught up in thinking about how they're supposed to act versus how much they actually like you. This certainly doesn't excuse the behavior, but the fact is that if you're dating someone who is uncomfortable, you're probably not dating the real person. Sometimes all someone needs to open up to you is an a bit of a push towards reality and a second chance.

    I agree with the woman that says she does not accept coffee or walk dates. As a woman your standards should be high and men who are offended by this obviously can’t afford her and why reach above your limit? She clearly wants to be courted. She never said she wants to be taken to a 5 star restaurant. Women, please don’t feel bad for having high standards. Sheraseven on TH-cam is amazing explaining this. However I am fully in agreement with the feminism thing. Which is why I’m not a feminist. I believe in picking a side and sticking to it. Either you’re a feminist or not. I like for a man to court me and pay for things and provide. Also I don’t agree that women and men should be equal. We are not equal but that is the beauty. We are supposed to be different. Please don’t encourage women to text men if they don’t text them. I’ve literally asked every man I’ve met including my boyfriend and they all agree that when they don’t text and you reach out they automatically know they have you and that your desperate.
    Sorry but it’s true. As a woman YOU are the prize. However, don’t claim to be a feminist if you expect this.

    • @CourtneyRyan
      @CourtneyRyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your insight! I actually agree with most of this. You’re allowed to have preferences when it comes to dates and I don’t really think that was the issue here. There’s no need to act like you’re above a certain type of date or that you’re “too good” for something. Just say you’d rather go to dinner and let that be the end of it! No biggie. Some girls would prefer a coffee date or a casual walk and there’s nothing wrong with that either. I don’t think it means the man is low effort - everyone has preferences ☺️

    • @greciamedero2808
      @greciamedero2808 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CourtneyRyan of course some women prefer going on a walk or coffee and that’s fine but i believe that the women that don’t should not get judged for it. And asking a guy who’s first offer was a coffee date to take you to diner instead is like a guy asking a girl who likes to wear pants to wear a dress to the date instead. That was their first offer so it’s what they perceive of you. This comes from the point I made that men are different than us. My boyfriend never courted a woman before me and when I asked him why he said “the way you carried yourself was different and I knew you deserved more so I did more” and that’s my point. If that’s her standard she should stick to it and there will be guys out there who will want to impress her as my boyfriend did. A coffee or walk is something I do with my boyfriend now that we’ve been together for a while but they’re not dates. Even to this day our dates mean dressing up real nice and going to a romantic dinner. And men love it. It makes them feel like a man and it makes you flourish in your feminine energy. Everybody wins! Lastly, if a woman is this way, there is no need to make men feel less than. Just politely decline and spare everyone the time. Interesting video!

    Dear Courtney Ryan.... You are absolutely right about women being accountable for their own actions and words, because for any woman to scroll through my cellphone to see who I have texted or go onto my COMPUTER to see all my FILES or for women who believe or MEN think they are ENTITLED -- BAGH!! .... Our culture has insisted MEN must be the breadwinner because for far too long MEN have not been held accountable for denying women a role in business and everyday issues in society..... Men and Women need to participate with one another as a TEAM... It takes effort to raise a family... It takes effort to earn money rather than stealing.... It takes effort to teach kids instead of hitting kids. It takes effort to listen to a woman rather than smacking a woman... It's easier to get lost in drugs rather than dealing with issues... The relationship games have spun out of control.... Always in Good Taste... CHEERS!! ... Courtney is so cool....

    There’s so many Alex cooper imitators out there now that copy her mannerisms. It’s kind of disappointing because they’re not as clear that they’re being funny and could proliferate bad information to impressionable young adults.

      You need to look for more conservative or “old fashioned” women who aren’t entitled modern f3minists. CR is from the Midwest, where that’s more common than the coasts. (In the US, don’t know where you are.)

    A woman may not *need* a man in many scenarios, not only those with onlyfans or sugar daddies, please...there are many successful women, who don't need a man, who own businesses, or have high positions and yet they will expect the man to pay and they will find men, who will gladly pay on dates. Why? Because at the end of the day, women and men are not equal,and this has nothing to do with needing or not needing a man or being independent, because the woman CAN of course pay her own bill, but she gives the man the option to be a gentleman, which many men appreciate, there are other reasons as well, but I will not go into them in this comment.
    By saying that those women are on "onlyfans", or with sugar daddies, which only a very little minority of women actually are, you are in fact bashing women...just like the comment about the filter, you could've just left it out. It's not classy. Sorry.

      You're just mad because she's speaking facts. Women hate when other women call them out and you're one of them that I see. You're independent, pay for your own ish. It's 2021, it's fair when both parties go half. No one wants another bill. They want a partner.

    • @chansinging91

      @@gmoney537 first of all, I'm not mad. I don't like having to bring other women down to make men like you more, which is what she's doing, maybe even subconsciously. I pay for my own dishes and more, I will not protest that my partner pays for me if we go out together, this works for me, if it's not what works for you- great.
      I think that my comment was quite factual as well. As long as other women are not put down, go 50-50 all you like. 🙂

      @@chansinging91 she's not putting other people down. She is just speaking facts. One thing I don't like is that women will attack other women and call them pick me if they tell the truth about other women. Sorry that she's exposing other women and telling us how women really are especially when guys aren't around and when they're around other women. And girls like you get mad because it's the truth

      @@11Reaper9 toxic to whom? To you? Okay. You don't have to date, interact etc. with me. "Toxic" is a highly overused term nowadays. I believe that I sound reasonable, if you don't like it, then interact with people who don't sound toxic to you. I had people in this comment section not entirely agree with me, but still be respectful, your comment is just for the sake of making a comment.

    5:52 - Oh my word, you know Bill Burr and can actually reference his bit where he calls out the issue of women claiming to be independent until it comes time to saddle up for the bill?
    Most women take issue with his work because it’s not exactly praising them, but I like how you were able to cite a source that was fair through and through.
    Seriously, what girl do you know who might like one of Bill Burr’s bits? Thank you, all the more respect, if I could subscribe again I would.
