8:28 Fun fact: If you have a second player that is decent, these missions are a breeze since the requirement doesn't change depending on how many players are, and the player's scores are combined.
11:47 Also, in these gates, the closer you are to the pole (but not touching it) will give you a higher score.
15:06 Flicking the right stick either forward or backward will make your car flip to either left or right while drifting in the air.
18:43 Tip: Focus more on sending items to your teammates, unless everyone already has one or you want to use one immediately. It gives them a better chance at winning.

I actually have every trophy in this game... except one. That one? Beating a friend's leaderboard time.
Now, that might not sound so bad, right? Except for the _tiny_ problem of _not having friends to beat!_ And even if I could get friends, who knows if they've even _done_ any races in Time Trial!
I really hate these types of achievements, where it has nothing to do with the _game's_ challenge at all. Completely defeats the purpose!

On Rayaman legends i had the same problem, what i do was i created 2 other accounts on my Playstation, befriended them, and do shitty scores and beat them in my main account and got that trophy. Maybe this can work in this game as well.
Yeah, the online trophies are super annoying, I mean what if the servers go offline, it makes the trophies impossible
Wouldn’t the simple solution be to create an alt account on the same system?
I think this is such an underated game, I think plat is harder than the guide rating but not so hard that it kills the fun, congrats on plat 🙌

Love this game. Wish there was more people online so I can have an actual race tho.
It didn't sell well because it came out around the time crash team racing did, and crash was still popping due to the well recieved n sane trilogy. Plus mario kart 8 was still making the rounds, so a new sonic racing game didn't stand a chance.
best character to play as in this game was rouge, shes just as fast as the speedster styles in the game plus with her technical type you can off-road and do shortcuts without any slowdown penalties which helps a lot

I think that only is good in solo mode. Team mode your path being off-road means your teammates have a harder time catching up.
When i was helping my friend trying to platinum this game we found it considerably easier to do certain events and races in share play co-op.
I did it solo and had to put up with terrible AI teamates.
Yeah I did a bit coop and the story is so much easier as long as you both decent at the game

Platinuming Sonic Transformed and the one before it,the bonus challenges I don't mind as they're about as hard as the other games. But those damn GP's on story mode made me say I don't care about platinuming the entire racing trilogy anymore lol. I didn't mind losing if I'm not good enough but losing because the AI just won't keep up made me say I'm done lol. It's maybe like 6-8 in difficulty depending on luck with AI

ive a hint for ya.... you can repeatably send and ask for items so ya can charge up the team meter kinda quickly
oh and btw technique charicters get access to nearly the full track
ok one last bit ya can change up your cart during the playthrough and that should help you alot more with completing these challenges

I did this game last year and man was it one of the most infuriating platinums I have ever gone for. I felt like I almost went insane at some point but it was so satisfying when that platinum finally popped

Funny how I am going for this right now. Some of these Daredevil and Coin Collecting challenges are a pain
what a coincidence! oh yeah man the daredevil and coins were the hardest part of the game by a landslide
I feel the pain. Currently sitting at 61%. Mostly got star trophies left to earn. Although I’ve been making sure to grab all stars and keys as I go so I can focus on pure racing for hard and expert.
The optional trophies and the ring challenges, dear lord. Get them done they are the worst.

For some reason the "A Friend in Speed is a Friend Indeed" Achievement took way too long to get for me. And all it took was an alt friend request your main, have the alt do a trial, then hope that the game updates the scoreboard to include your "friend's" trial, finally beat your alt to get the achievement. I hated this achievement.
Got the Platinum afterwards, so yay!

I got this platinum earlier this year and I’m surprised that more people don’t have this platinum as I didn’t find it too difficult. I mean there were times where the AI let me down but other than that it was pretty straightforward for me, although I do have a lot of experience from racing games prior to this.
i think PS plus has a lot to answer for it being so rare
I had Platinumed this last summer and don't remember it being that bad, however I was just coming off Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed which is, to date, the hardest Platinum I have. The Expert Ghosts beaten on Time Trial is insanely difficult.

@@PlatinumBro I remember some parts being difficult, however if you ever get around to playing Transformed (which I think is the best in the series only slightly ahead of the first game which is Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing), you'll see where the actual pain is with the Time Trials. 20 tracks, 20 expert Ghosts, and three of the 20 tracks are absolute nightmares. One track took me over 6 hours to beat.

I can say I platinum this game and it was indeed a challenge but I’m glad I finally did it. The biggest hurdle I had was the online ghost thing but I finally got it cause that was the last one I was missing.

Bro… I got this platinum trophy, this has got to be the hardest platinum I’ve gotten thus far. It’s mainly because some trophies require pure luck and timing, and I just so happen to be there at the right moment. This requires a lot of patience in order to platinum, I could NEVER do that again lol

Godspeed. I was on the platinum path, but some of them are just not worth it. The toughest platinum for my child self was beating the bonus robot Nancy in Tekken 6.

@@PlatinumBro I don't know if you knew this, but there's a way to cheat the Platinum Trophies for the HD ports of Jak & Daxter. But if you do it on the PS4 ports, a glitch will prevent the one on Jak 3 from triggering, or at least it did that for me.

I remember playing sonic team racing on ps now, and kinda liking it, but I hated those dang ring missions

I'm not sure if this has been said before, but another reason so little people have trophies is this game, is because it was on PS Plus last March, and I think it was on PS Now before Sega took off the Sonic games on PS Now, so a bunch of people just downloaded the game, and played it a little bit, or just didn't play it at all

I found the best way to win in this game is to spam item boxes to teammates, builds up the star meter super quick and makes your AI teammates catch up better

I went for the platinum last year when the game was free on PS Plus, and it was rather just either poor AI or straight up RNG form the power ups (the Amy team is the worst case of the RNG) It sometimes frustrated me to the point I just got off the game and played Overwatch 1 (when the game was still a thing till Blizzard killed it for the sequel and killed off the origina). But overall, I felt I was competent with Kart racers, so it was semi-doable for me, but it's no 4/10

I think a 6/10 is a reasonable difficulty for the game
For any newcomers trying to platinum this game:
Get a friend. They don't need to own the game, just have SOMEONE to help you. Do share play if you're on PSN, or whatever the alternative your version has, and do coop there. The game is balanced around you having friends.
This is critical especially in bonus missions. In ring challenge missions, the rings are shared, so at first having MP looks harmful. But... They respawn. So have one player go first, then the second go when the rings start to spawn in, and you're basically cutting down the mission by half the work doing it like that. These brutal requirements become so chill when played with coop. It's easier to get 3 people platinumed than to get one person platinuming the whole game themselves

I would say, you plan is to try and get star power in the first lap (so you can build it up again for the final stretch), if you fail to do this, then yeah wait until the end

It was a pretty enjoyable experience, a little grindy but overall not terrible. I really liked the fact that for most of the hard and expert stages you didn't necessarily have to win to pass the level, just needed to come in third most of the time.

The limited ring count is possibly for performance reason. You'd see this often on Warrior games for Nintendo consoles, with P5Strikers being the least impacted since it's going for more a ARPG approach.

Yea the A.I was really one of the reasons why I had such a hard time with the game.
Since the game is dead it doesn't matter anyways but in a multiplayer with real player ofc this game can be way more fun, especially when it's with friends
But after playing this game, as soon as I finished the adventure mode, the first thing I did was go back and play Sonic and All Stars racing transformed
I still don't know how the sequel to that game is worse than it
Like, it has its positives, the soundtrack is amazing, but that's to be expected from a Sonic game
And as a big sonic fan some of the character dialogue is really enjoyable (some)
And that's about it
honestly the AI is one of the worst I have ever experience in terms of team mates.
It's never a good thing when the sequels are worse man
i remember getting 100% on Sonic and SEGA all stars racing transformed on Xbox 360. and i thought that was hard.
one the last trophies in that game was to cross the finish line in 1st place, while driving backwards over the line. quite literally had to set up a multi-lap race in solo mode with easy bots to get this achievement.

I really enjoyed my time with this game, but to be honest I don't think it's a good game. I loved it while I played but to be honest I just did the bare minimum just so I could finish the story mode. I think the challenges are annoying and the difficulty is brutal, and you depend more on luck than anything. So I'm no surprised at all that so few people even attempt such a task. I can't even say congratulations dude, all can say is that I'm so sorry for what you went through and I hope you can play something fun now.
I enjoyed the first 15 hours with this game for sure! yeah the challenges were awful man, quite the challenges.
I am playing a more enjoyable game now broski.

Look up the trophies for Sonic Forces. It's way worse than anything in this game, it's genuinely painful.
The game only has a couple of hours of content, but somehow managed to stretch it out for days.
