Testing Version 1.11 On The Test Garden - Buried Targets With Settings | Metal Detecting

- Updates Made:
1. A new level "0" has been added to the Iron Filter (IF) setting in the Park, Field and Goldfield modes. In addition, a new level 9 has been added to the Iron Filter (IF) setting.
There has been no change to the levels 1-8. Level 9 will become handy when trying to discriminate some unwanted mid-conductors such as shotgun cartridges as iron.
2. The Backlight setting has been reconfigured as below:
The Backlight setting’s levels have been increased to 6 from 5. Levels 1-5 in the software version 1.09 is now equal to 2-6 in this version. Level 1 in this version is now the reduced level.
3. The automatic Backlight setting has been reconfigured to work as below:
a) When the automatic Backlight setting was on, the automatic Backlight was not activated when the pinpoint button was pressed to turn on Tracking in the Ground Balance screen. This now has been updated.
b) When the automatic Backlight setting was on, the Backlight was turning off once you exit the Settings menu. This now has been updated so that the Backlight goes off within the normal time-out period.
c) When the automatic Backlight setting was on, the automatic Backlight was not activated when the pinpoint button was pressed in the Notch Discrimination Pattern. This now has been updated.
d) While in Automatic Ground Balance, the auto backlight will now be lit until the ground balancing is completed.
4. M3 multi frequency in PARK mode has been updated to prevent coins from being masked by aluminum foil.
5. Bottle Cap Rejection setting has been added.
When the device is in multi frequency, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters "bC" appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the bC value between 1-8 using the + and - buttons. When the bC is 0, it means that it is off.
6. Ground Suppressor setting has been added.
It is used to eliminate false ground signals in tough terrains. To access the setting, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters "GS" appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the GS value between 1-8 using the + and - buttons. When the GS is 0, it means that it is off. It is recommended that you leave this setting at off position unless needed.
7. The audio emitted as the Tone Break points are changed while in 60-Tone, has been modified with increased bass.
8. Audio Gain setting has been activated in the Gold Field Mode.
9. Warning tones have been added to the buttons.
The buttons will now emit a warning tone in the following cases:
a) To indicate the minimum and maximum levels of settings.
b) When an inactive setting in a specific mode trying to be activated.
The loudness of the warning tones will work directly proportional to the Volume setting.
10. Bluetooth Chip Version will now be displayed.
When the Bluetooth headphones are paired with the device and the Bluetooth setting is selected, press and hold the Discrimination button. The Bluetooth chip version will be displayed in the clock section. When the button is released, the clock will be displayed again.
11. The loudness of the Volume Level 1 has been reduced in PARK, FIELD and BEACH modes.
12. General improvements have been implemented.

Great job on your videos. You are a fantastic, no nonsense, go-to source for learning more about the Legend, which I own.
Agree 100% on there being a sound difference. It sounds like 1.11's audio near-distance from the coil is raspier than it is using 1.09. Do you think that particular raspiness might be smoothing out at as distance from the coil increases using 1.11? On my end it seemed so, but online audio might differ from what you hear when testing.
Assuming 1.09 audio is smoother at all depths, I wonder if 1.11's raspiness can be used to our advantage? If the raspy vs smooth transition in 1.11 depends upon distance from the coil, do we have a new tool here?
One way to check, maybe increase the Audio Gain (AG) in 1.11 to equalize the volume of shallow and deep targets. Would that make the raspy/smooth distinction easier to hear, thereby improving the user's chances of recognizing a deeper target?
I haven't checked AG to see if this is the case or not. Still on 1.09 here.
This would be an interesting comparison as between 1.09 and 1.11.

The legend is the machine to have..
On my test garden it seemed to hit a bit better on coins next to large iron square nails and flat iron, I did notice that I had to raise the coil to get a better hit,
A round coil send a signal like a funnel shape so it seemed to hit better at the point and not so well as I lowered down closer to the coin, but it did well,
I go out Sunday head to head against my friend and his new Manticore, he was using the Nox800, I had the 600, and switched over to the Legend and was out hunting the nox, meaning I was digging 10 to 1 in targets recovered as seen in my videos hunting with him,
Looking forward to going up against the Manticore.

Still frozen land in Finland but i was searching things what have been burried at the snow.
Seems very nice detector. Need making some testing between my gm6 and this new Legend.

Ainoa homma, että multin kanssa saa olla tarkkana, kun ei ole aivan yhtä puhtaat signaalit syvälle kuparille, kuin yksittäisillä taajuuksilla ja metsäetsinnässä täytyy purkaa paljon asetuksia, jos haluaa, ettei blokkaa mitään rautaa pois.
En tiedä mistä johtuu toi multiohjelmien heikkous isojen kuparikolikkojen kanssa, kannattaa testailla ja etsiä eri paikkoihin itselle sopivat asetukset. Varmaan useita pikku heikkouksia korjaantunee seuraavassa päivityksessä, mutta joka pennin arvoinen laite ja paras laite itselläni yleisetsintään käytön kannalta, mutta vielä käytän metsäetsinnässä riisutumpaa Golden mask 6 etsintä.
Tilasin Legendiin hiilikuitulisäosat, jotka on nyt tässä uudistetussa mallissa ja lg 24 kelan. Hiilikuituosat tuli jo ja pikku kela puistoon ja metsäetsintään myöhemmin, en oikein tykkää tästä alkuperäisestä kelasta. Alkuperäinen on aika raskas ja painottaa konetta liikaa etupainoiseksi.

I have a curiosity cuz I had only analogic machines in the past. Tone break on legend is equal with discrimination on analogic md? Higher tone break,higher dicrimination right? Cheers
Yea tone break is just like an audio discrim , but better performance as no filter as you would have with disc pattern
I know that I have already written about it, but again I encourage you to test Rutus Atrex with "Smart Audio" and most importantly in this detector - a pseudo-static mode, that works in the background and gives you the ability to precisely determine the size and depth of the object you are looking for.
I'm waiting for a stable version of the software, because I also have Nokta Legend.

Because it's made in Poland 😅 It's a bit more complicated than most modern detectors, but that helps get even more out of it. As long as someone is insightful and doesn't care about a simple "turn on and search".
@@_DamianS_ With a waterproof box and frequencies above 18khz I would have choose an Atrex over a Legend, I'll keep an eye on Rutus in the future

not really had anything over 10 inch, but a tiny flat button with the lg35 at 9-10 inch impressed me.

Dear friend, pls show how this SW works with Hot stones. I think in your area many hot stones can find. Over or near the stone detector starting as crazy shows color target and no one coin near or under hot stone. Pinpointer function same crazy near stones. This is a problem and with 1.10 and 1.11. M3, 4kHz-15kHz not working with depth search of small coins ant all. What to test? Nothing intetesting for user comparing to 1.10.
A lot of Hot stones in this ground , 1.11 as only just landed there will be plenty of more testing . I will have a wild hunt video out Saturday and a recovery test video out Wednesday . Good fortune 🙏
Try the "coin hoard at 20") with pitch tone and raise the Threshold to 17 and see if you can hit it the target better. ?

There is a video of the legend hitting this with the 28 on my channel, the ground was a lot wetter and therefore more conductive . Out with the lg24 and 1.11 today , video live tomorrow 👍🏻
Am'I the only one who find the audio cleaner and sharper on the 1.09? 1.10B3 and 1.11 have mellower crackling sounds in Park and Field, with Beach multi Dry tones which are cleaner for some reasons

It would be nice to see a test on small gold and have a comparison between 1.09 and 1.11 as I've heard rumours that the sensitivity suffered after the new update.
Yes i am sure that 1.04- 1.09 was more stable and with good depth search. 1.10-1.11 very noisy in a forest with m1, m2. M3 not usefull at all (may be only for beach seach with small depth.
@@Bee-39 I'm questioning the 1.10 1.11 updates as well, I find the audio cleaner and sharper on 1.09, any chance you have internet ressources or YT video about that?
So honestly which version to you is the deepest? I honestly feel like they dropped the ball by not putting 1.04 back in to download.
More time with 1.11 is needed , with hints and testing before I can make a verdict 👍🏻
At your test garden would be nice if you had the coins on hand that you were testing on so we could see the size
yes , i, taking for granted everyone knows the size which isnt the case as mostly uk coins. the tiny roman is around 12mm and the hammered is around 20mm but as thin as foil. copper half penny 25mm , sixpence 20mm
I will stick with the simplex
I had the Simplex and went back through two parks I had gone through at least five times with the Simplex and I pulled out over 200 coins with the Legend including some very old Indian heads and even my first civil war infantry button….the Legend is worth it…
I'm waiting for a recovery speed test on different tones. It seems to me that the legend copes very badly with iron debris.

A good example of a test in hardware. So you can compare any detector, we see the real value in cm. Try it, you will like the result
