The LEGEND needs to be taken back to Turkish ground and buried where it can be later located by an idiot with a Radio Shack piece of junk. Why? Cuz it's junk and Nokta fed us all lies.

It's a Legendary piece of junk. Mine perished with glass shards in my knuckles. Ty 4 your honesty. Dilek and Nokta sold us lies. Legend...yeah it will live up to its name. Ersatz would be a better one but maybe in Turkish that doesn't translate correctly! Garbage should be on nameplate.

There may have been issues for you and your ground but all versions of the Legend have found me artifacts and coins. I found a lot of great finds at RCM and Detectival with 1.15, and have just loaded 1.17. From a quick test, it looks improved. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you sir for all your great help with the Legend and for your honesty I have two Legends 1 gen and 2nd gen the 1st gen I have updated with all except the latest 1.17 which I plan to do but as for my 2nd gen Legend it will stay on factory installed 1.11 for the time being…would love to get a triple score but just can’t afford one atm do to being out of work but hopefully one day I will be able to get one to add to my arsenal of units but again thank you for all of your knowledge you have passed on God Bless and Happy dirt fishin…Virgil

Can I ask you if you have any experience with the Mimelab X-terra pro and the 1.79 update... whether it is working well for/on the machine amd if any glitches bein talked about on the grape vine! I have only had the Legend for a ear, but I have always updated it when a new update has come out. 1.11 was my base standard and I found it good. I was not that fussed about the beast mode update and never used it to be honest and just played with the DT. Im not sure if that update was better than 1.11, and have seen plenty of tests that suggest it was a step back. But with 1.17 I personally can say its the best I have used to far and have picked out loads of items with that have been small, deep and masked that im not that sure I would have been tempted with had I not been using 1.17 as I doubt it would have crossed the threshhold of being a digger. Im quite impressed with 1.17 and its the update we deserved from 1.11. If you have not installed it get it installed and see for yourself. Nothing to lose as you can always put it back but its a stonkingly good update.

Now that 1.17 is out will you start using the Legend again. Do you think 1.17 has solved the problems. I've for the most part quit using my Legend as well.

This is why I got frustrated with Nokta , they pride themselves on their customer service yet failed miserably with the updates, I was told after 800 hours use on the machine that it was user error , I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong, there was a problem with the Legend , and alas the problem they denied was there has now been rectified. Shame on them

The biggest issue I have is the lay out. Nokta put so much "new" stuff into the machine. But no where to put it. Beast Mode is in "Gold Field". And I feel like it's there because there was no where else to put it. The machine is "full". All said, it IS the best detector out there for the price. I own it and a Manticore. And can confidently say, the Legend is almost as good as the Manticore. There have been a few occasions where the Manticore hits masked and deeper targets "better". But that's been very few times.

Would you suggest staying on 1.09 or 1.11 instead of 1.17?

1.17 works just fine..even better. I think you're wrong in your opinion about hardware. But I do think the Legend is now something it wasn't meant to be and it's definitely time for Legend 2 ESPECIALLY a resign because it very top heavy and become uncomfortable to swing after a while. So in my opinion Redesign maybe on S shaft Better key layout Maybe battery moved into handle. Maybe hidden cable from coil. Better screen?

Was never any good after v1.09 and just got bull$hit from Nokta even when it was proven their update was a crock. I had two and sold both, Deus II now and a Nox 800 as back up. I'll never buy anything Nokta again.

Given that you've decided to stop using the Legend, I'm guessing you aren't to "downgrade" the software back to 1.09 or 1.11?

OK fair enough but you can go back to any software version you like (1.09 max I think) and it would be like a time machine :)

Totally agree with what you are saying Liam. I've found the best update was V1.09. Anything above that has too many variables to work with.

Just seen this clip ,I've been in 2minds about moving on from the legend,,I'm finding it as good what I thought it'll be thinking about the nox 800 what do you think,, hope the person come of worse

Qualche perplessità ce l'ho anch'io, ho caricato 1.17 , si sembra più stsbile in acqua e battigia con ID più stabilì, ma in ricerca vera ancora non mi convince a fondo, sembra discriminare molto anche con il filtro del ferro aperto a 1 ,dovrò fare altre uscite per capire

A few months ago everyone said that the Legend is the best detector for your money, goes deeper than any other machines....blablabla, now suddenly everyone hates is. Just simply not update yours and thats is. I'm on 1.13, thats how i bought it and never tried to update. Im not saying i love it, i expected a lot more after my Simplex Ultra(which i loved so much). Im using it in 15khz, because in multi its too chattery, almost useless....and actually i never find really deep targets. Maybe the coins what i find are just simply not in deep. Anyway, im secretly deaming about Deus II...

One thing I have noticed is that all of my finds are very shallow no matter what I do to the legend. I also have a simplex ultra that I use, and I always end up digging deep targets that the legend has missed. With the ultra I can do wide sweeping swings and with the legend it seems like I have to scrub the ground with the coil for it to lock on to a target.

I gave up on the legend a year ago got the XP deus 2 and never looked back I don't think I will ever buy a Nokta machine again what I will get as a back up is the Garret vortex when they finally release it but I will stick with XP from now on there is just nothing like it maybe the manticore but it's too heavy

Your right the legend was not performing correctly, but I was using beach mode and still was working fine. I was able to get all coins out of the iron but I think Nokia purposely 117 so awesome to last two I font so many stuff, silver coins or buttons there’s no other than the 117 right now on the legend.

I stopped at the 1.11, 5cent/nickel finder, I don't know why, but if I wanna find V nickles and nickles in general the Legend is king for those, I've been back on the 9&11 deus2 sensi full tone and have been killing it, we need rain real bad.

Appreciate this video. My legend was outperformed by Garrett AT PRO. Was detecting in fresh water lake not finding anything where I knew there should be signals aplenty. Sat legend coil on bottom and took headphones off put them on my john boat seat, turned machine off and grabbed outdated AT PRO I'd brought along because Legendary POS had my finds down 50% or more. Put headphones on and fired up machine...it started screaming immediately the instant the coil was slightly moved. You could still see imprint from legend coil in silt covered sand. Used scoop and BAM a 1940s silver merc!!! I was asking myself wtf was going on and, upon retracing my steps(I always drag scoop to grid areas of interest) I found several coins including 3 silver dimes. My legendary POS died that night when my fist smashed the screen to bits!!!! Nokta sucks. I fell for their lies and regret shelling out all that cash to Turkey. Now my new detector is French and it's magnificent!

Liam, I confess I've never been a fan of numerous tweaks and features added to the controls of a detector. I find using the main functions of ground balance, sensitivity, discrimination and on occasion, recovery speed, have always given me excellent results. Frankly, I don't use the other features added to the Legend and have them turned off or set to whatever minimum is. Actually, I've never installed the last three updates on my machine because it works very well at my last preferred version. I will keep my Legend because it can be submerged in water, all the frequencies offered, stability and its durability. I agree that you can take "enhancements" to the point of diminishing returns, and that is what might be happening here.
