Edit: Also consider the fact that the laser misses and Gannon gets hit by tiny rain drops of splash damage.
Accidentally? I'm not sure if that's the way to put it. Because it's pretty much on PURPOSE that people discover the Sanctum. However wandering into the Sanctum on accident CAN actually happen if you're flying quite high up in the sky trying to find somewhere to land but somehow ends up in the sanctum. Yes I do admit that this has happened to me at least 2 times that I've wandered into the Sanctum without a courageous purpose. But if you're not ready to take onto Calamity ganon in the happening, you can just leave the battle mid-fight and just spawn just right by castle town ruins.
@@JayEverdeenValentine u didnt need to do all that bro lol it was my first time playing and it was an accident plus this comment is old as hell it isnt that diabolical
I accidentally did this with one divine beast (Ruta) once. I was a newbie to the game. Saw Hyrule Castle, thought it'd have good weapons so I went there. My dumb butt walked straight into the Calamity Ganon fight, initiating the cutscene. I shit my pants mate. Had to fight the rest of the blights and then C-Ganon. I quit halfway through because I felt like it was too early to do the boss fight and wanted to explore the world more. But yeah basically I terrified myself 😂 Got good weapons tho.
Beating a few of the divine beasts as opposed to all or none is interesting because it forces you to pick which powers to take with you and which you'll leave behind. With some tweaks, the boss-rush dynamic could be much more tactical than it currently is.
Ik I thought this was a joke video, tbh everyone that has played or even watched the game will know about this. I'm actually surprised people don't try doing new things in this game
he didnt cover this bit but if you dont kill all the blights gannon will have an even less threatening phase before the ones that you would get if you did kill the blights
This is like trying to fight the final boss in a Sonic game without the chaos emeralds. It just doesn't feel right. I'm looking at you Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces.
@@CapitalMort same. I basically did the castle right after the fourth devine beast with the mindset of, "ah, fuck it. Let's just see what happens," and was a bit underwhelmed at the difficulty. Intense? Absolutely. But I was the same as you, only ate one or two items, wore 3-star ancient gear, didn't even stock up on arrows before starting, and still took him down without dying. Lynels were way more challenging and dangerous than ganon felt to me.
Ganon was a challenge for me although I found it was more a battle of endurance than skill - hit enough times and he's dead 😆 I had 14 hearts. I shot him in the face but most shots didn't do anything. Then I realised I could do better damage if I used the divine beast powers. When you use Urbosas fury and any of the other powers it makes Ganon vulnerable and you can get really good damage before he comes back to invincible mode.
@@LauraAnimalgirl you're right about face shots doing little to no damage but that is not their purpose. They knock your enemy flat. Has been so since the beginning of the game. Prone like that he is easy pickings. Other than that it is a simple matter of learning his patterns. The blights were tougher fights.
I remember I accidentally had to do this right with two of the divine beasts left because I just thought I'd explore Hyrule Castle. Somehow managed to scrape a win so that was satisfying at the very least if stressful lmao
I am amazed at how the cutscenes are programmed to reflect whatever you did in the game or what you're wearing, like they made every possible animation ready...
I did a playthrough where I completed 118 shrines and fought all 4 blights in Hyrule Castle. Had fun doing it that way and the blights seamed easier in the castle.
I've been thinking, how come Link's divine beast (or at least the floating plataform it was) doesn't shoot a laser at Ganon? It would be cool if the mastercycle had the option of shooting lasers when you face Ganon in Hyrule field
In-universe explanation is that no one is there to fire it both because Link never learned how and because he's on the ground with the sword. They may have anticipated that when they built it and probably didn't even install a laser.
It makes sense you don’t free the divine beasts by doing the boss rush, since that locks you into the full ganon fight which lasts until either an ending or a reload
Most hard core botw challenge, first do the great plateau challenge, then when you get the glider go straight to the castle and fight all four blight Ganons and calamity Ganon
Weirdly enough, on my first playthrough I think I had a glitch with the blights. I cleared all 4 divine beasts but still had to face waterblight I think, before Zelda says she can't hold him back any longer. Though all 4 divine beasts did activate. A weird experience I didn't take much note of until now
They should have made it so that instead of just lowering his health, the divine beasts deactivated some of his abilities. He'd have new ones that are really strong and you only see them if you chose to not do the divine beasts
You know what would be cool but super hard? Getting all the way to the sanctum while doing the flight challenge on the ridge land tower. You would have to string at least 6 Bomb impact launches together.
There is videos of it, if you do it you teleport back but the game still thinks you are fighting ganon, you won’t even be able to enter the sanctum again, plus all npc’s are gone and the towers look unfinished, it’s weird
You have to fight every Blight that you did not yet kill, yes. If you want the "full" Boss Rush of all 4 Blights, then you have to skip all 4 Divine Beasts.
@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragon I thought you only needed to free one divine beast to skip the boss rush because you skipped over the blights in the sanctum and I’m dumb
these divine beasts look so much insignificant before mighty ganon.. but then again, this version of ganon looks much more scarier and powerful than all other ganon. this ganon is actually big and scary.
Dude I thought fighting ganon is extremely hard so I didn't dare fighting him yet, but knowing half his health will be gone just by Vah Ruta, Medoh, Rudania and Naboris makes it easier lmao
Thank you! I was curious. Also of note: If, after beating the blight rush and defeating ganon, you go back to cleanse the divine beasts, they'll still be there even tho your game is marked "completed" with the star and all that.
When I first beat Ganon, I only had Vah Medoh and Vah Naboris cleared. I'm suprised by the amount of people in these comments that didn't know about this, but I suppose that's just part of the beauty of this game: everyone goes about their adventure differently.
bruh so if you don't free all of the divine beasts, you end up having to fight each blight anyways, AND you keep literally 100% of Ganon's health? oh but you didn't have to fight the easiest monsters in the game and activate 20 terminals, my bad
Did this at nearly the beginning of a new save with no beasts and some inventory upgrades. Took a while but it can get done and it was super fun and challenging
Chestpiece & trousers of the regular Ancient Set from the Akkala Tech Lab plus the "Vah Naboris Divine Beast Helmet" from the Urbosa amiibo. I like that design a lot more than the regular Ancient Helmet, and it still activates the set bonus.
As long as you have the full rubber armour set and upgrade it twice Thinderblight Ganon isn’t too bad, it’s just annoying when you don’t lock on fast enough before he moves
@@sfxjb, I’ve played the game for four years and beat him like 8 times. I think I’ll take break. I’m not saying this is my first time fighting him, OH NO, I just don’t wanna do again.
None at all. No matter how many Divine Beasts you have (or haven't) completed, they will still all be turned off after the last bossfight, all Champion's spirits and King Rhoam will appear in the brief moment when Link and Zelda leave the castle, and the additional "secret" ending still features Zelda talking about how Vah Ruta has shut down.
Without ANY Divine Beasts - yes. That's even a somewhat common speedrun. But I couldn't find any footage of a "half done" scenario - all videos I was able to find either had zero Divine Beasts done or all four of them, and the redditor in question was specifically asking for what it would look like if only _some_ of the DBs were cleared.
I always thought that Ganon should get more powerful the more blights you defeated, giving you incentive to get to the castle quickly. Of course freeing the heroes makes you more powerful too, so it’s kind of a catch 22. I think that makes for much more interesting gameplay.
Revali: "Brace yourself, Ganon, for the sting of my revenge!"

I just want to know how the people of hateno and kakariko feel about seeing two massive lasers coming from the divine beasts just rushing over their heads.
I've interacted with many NPCs and nobody seems to even acknowledge the red lasers nor that they're even there.
OH MY GOD HOW AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS, I'VE BEEN PONDERING THIS QUESTION FOR 2 YEARS, COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING, AND TOO LAZY TO COMPLETE IT MYSELF.
THANK YOU.
I had a feeling this would happen.
Omg no way LOL
You two have the same profile picture
@@TomatoRadio No... really?
I really like the style you made the video in. To the point and with the text, really well done
you know, for attacking the incarnation of all that is evil in the world, a being that can only be temporary destroyed by a hero of divine prophecy and power, and doing it with a weapon that has already proven to be all but useless against it, 1/8th of his total life isn't all that bad, especially for a side character.
Edit: Also consider the fact that the laser misses and Gannon gets hit by tiny rain drops of splash damage.
To be fair ganon was split in thounsand little and a few bigger parts and his body wasn't done yet.
I used to think that you had to fight them again regardless but i accidentally wandered into the sanctum and found out that wasn’t the case lol
I knew about this cuz of speedruns
Revali didnt lie when he said: " a *sting* of my revenge"
So who else accidentally walked into the Ganon fight without all 4 divine beasts while trying to find the memory
Calamity Gagnon scared the crap out of me when I first saw him . I hate spiders he’s basically a huge demon spider.
Beating a few of the divine beasts as opposed to all or none is interesting because it forces you to pick which powers to take with you and which you'll leave behind.
With some tweaks, the boss-rush dynamic could be much more tactical than it currently is.
kinda funny how those massive beams do the same amount of damage as link hitting ganon with a few arrows
Surprised to see this question in 2021, but honestly impressed with your work for it!
Ik I thought this was a joke video, tbh everyone that has played or even watched the game will know about this. I'm actually surprised people don't try doing new things in this game
@@DirtL Especially this channel, although this apparently was asked for.
he didnt cover this bit but if you dont kill all the blights gannon will have an even less threatening phase before the ones that you would get if you did kill the blights
Champions: *confused but happy screaming*
_Thanks for this, I've always wanted to know what happens but have always completed the divine beasts_
This is like trying to fight the final boss in a Sonic game without the chaos emeralds. It just doesn't feel right.
I'm looking at you Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces.
we need four more divine beasts, so we can just play with ganon
Feels weird seing 1 straight laser redirect downward
Was ganon as easy for you guys as it was for me or did you forget to shoot him in the face?
I found Ganon too easy, I had 23 hearts and full stamina. I only ate food once. I wore fully upgraded ancient armor.
Face shots do double damage to normal enemies. They do something like 14x damage to scout enemies though
Revali's so lonely just trying his best.
Zelda "link I cannot hold back any more"
Continues to hold him back
Me "girl you cute and all but sometimes you stupid"
ive always wanted to see this but too lazy to do it myself but finally someone did it so all of us can watch. thanks!
At least you wont have to fight in the damn water XD haha
Glad to see you chose the right DB helm.
It show your gears cause it's real-time rendering
I did a playthrough where I completed 118 shrines and fought all 4 blights in Hyrule Castle. Had fun doing it that way and the blights seamed easier in the castle.
I’ve never played a game where I defeat ganon without dealing with the divine beasts before. Might start a new game to give it a try
I've been thinking, how come Link's divine beast (or at least the floating plataform it was) doesn't shoot a laser at Ganon? It would be cool if the mastercycle had the option of shooting lasers when you face Ganon in Hyrule field
I like to think that the 5th divine beast is only for additional game content and not canon, which is why it doesn't change the story.
In-universe explanation is that no one is there to fire it both because Link never learned how and because he's on the ground with the sword. They may have anticipated that when they built it and probably didn't even install a laser.
Is there an actual explanation in-game? I never found one.
@@VampiricFox37
Not that I know of. They probably left it vague to keep the DLC from overtaking the base game narrative.
Since you said "in universe" I thought maybe I'd missed something, since I'm unaware of any novels or anything like that that's canon.
Can you imagine spending 4-10 hours on a leg of the game only to save 10 sword slashed off a boss. Nice
The sting of my revenge? Now come on that wasn’t a sting it was a poke at the very least
the next zelda game will be named " urbosa's and daruk's revenge "
It makes sense you don’t free the divine beasts by doing the boss rush, since that locks you into the full ganon fight which lasts until either an ending or a reload
Looks like how many layers of Spikes/Stealth Rock You should set in a Pokémon battle
Most hard core botw challenge, first do the great plateau challenge, then when you get the glider go straight to the castle and fight all four blight Ganons and calamity Ganon
i already knew that but its always nice to have someone that tells the others that might not no :)

@@keithcorbiniii7869 i know but im failing to find out how XD
Hi I'm a big fan of your work :)
If you do it this way link is only just more badass because he went straight to Ganon with no help
Weirdly enough, on my first playthrough I think I had a glitch with the blights. I cleared all 4 divine beasts but still had to face waterblight I think, before Zelda says she can't hold him back any longer. Though all 4 divine beasts did activate. A weird experience I didn't take much note of until now
Urbosa daruk mipha during the final cutscene: Bro you forgot us?
Imagine waiting for 100 years to do 1/8 of Ganon lmao
I actually discovered this on my first play through on accident. At the time I had no idea what was going on or where I was even at.
They should have made it so that instead of just lowering his health, the divine beasts deactivated some of his abilities. He'd have new ones that are really strong and you only see them if you chose to not do the divine beasts
We've become so good that we forgot this apparently.
You know what would be cool but super hard? Getting all the way to the sanctum while doing the flight challenge on the ridge land tower. You would have to string at least 6 Bomb impact launches together.
Or moonjump + gliding
@@l.i.a.m.b ooh Imma try that
There is videos of it, if you do it you teleport back but the game still thinks you are fighting ganon, you won’t even be able to enter the sanctum again, plus all npc’s are gone and the towers look unfinished, it’s weird
The date of this video is so triggering cause I thought everyone would know this especially by then
So you only get the boss rush if you rescued 0 divine beasts?
You have to fight every Blight that you did not yet kill, yes. If you want the "full" Boss Rush of all 4 Blights, then you have to skip all 4 Divine Beasts.
@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragon oh ok, thanks 👍
@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragon I thought you only needed to free one divine beast to skip the boss rush because you skipped over the blights in the sanctum and I’m dumb
I kinda figured it would be like this, but it's nice to confirm something I wouldn't have tried
I accidentally walked into the Castle being a really low level and saw that you had to kill all these random ganon things 😂😂
these divine beasts look so much insignificant before mighty ganon.. but then again, this version of ganon looks much more scarier and powerful than all other ganon. this ganon is actually big and scary.
Dude I thought fighting ganon is extremely hard so I didn't dare fighting him yet, but knowing half his health will be gone just by Vah Ruta, Medoh, Rudania and Naboris makes it easier lmao
The fact that there are like 16 individual cutscenes for the different configurations of divine beast lasers is very funny to me.
Thank you! I was curious.
Also of note: If, after beating the blight rush and defeating ganon, you go back to cleanse the divine beasts, they'll still be there even tho your game is marked "completed" with the star and all that.
Ganon is also still there. It says Completed, but it basically sends you back to the pre-endboss point.
You're right, and I thought of that while typing out my response, but I decided to submit it anyway.
You can also have a ganon fight full health with no blights if You don’t activate the beasts but have killed the blights
Each beast deals 500 damage to ganon.
A guardian blast, when repelled to the guardian, deals 500 damage.
The divine beasts aren't worth it.
Tbf they aren't even close to being direct hits, it's basically residual energy falling down on him or something

What’s that helmet you’re wearing?
It looks rad.
Chestpiece & trousers of the regular Ancient Set from the Akkala Tech Lab plus the "Vah Naboris Divine Beast Helmet" from the Urbosa amiibo. I like that design a lot more than the regular Ancient Helmet, and it still activates the set bonus.
Revali finally gets HIS revenge
I’m not gonna go through Naboris again on my newest file because, *no*
As long as you have the full rubber armour set and upgrade it twice Thinderblight Ganon isn’t too bad, it’s just annoying when you don’t lock on fast enough before he moves

I am curious with post beating cinematic, any difference ?
None at all. No matter how many Divine Beasts you have (or haven't) completed, they will still all be turned off after the last bossfight, all Champion's spirits and King Rhoam will appear in the brief moment when Link and Zelda leave the castle, and the additional "secret" ending still features Zelda talking about how Vah Ruta has shut down.
Not meaning to sound like "that guy", but I genuinely didn't know that this wasn't common game knowledge. I watch a lot of SmallAnt I guess.
same
And this is why I'm trying to get enough heart containers to get the master sword
just got it 😁
You have never tried to kill ganon without divine beast?
Without ANY Divine Beasts - yes. That's even a somewhat common speedrun.
But I couldn't find any footage of a "half done" scenario - all videos I was able to find either had zero Divine Beasts done or all four of them, and the redditor in question was specifically asking for what it would look like if only _some_ of the DBs were cleared.
Oh ok 👍
This video should go to 2017 tbh
I always thought that Ganon should get more powerful the more blights you defeated, giving you incentive to get to the castle quickly. Of course freeing the heroes makes you more powerful too, so it’s kind of a catch 22. I think that makes for much more interesting gameplay.
Why would you feed ravioli birds ego
Ohhhh, that makes sense why I had to fight Fireblight ganon and my sister didn't.
