Bloody great interview I must say. Rokas is quite refreshing, I remember stumbling across his channel years ago and seeing him launch the ultimate self defence championship it's been great, really entertaining and he's right about the edutainment factor
On one hand boxing elevated a Shaolin wushu tourist to survive a shank tank, and just 10 weeks of casual training in boxing helped a common truck driver outperform most of his lifelong martial artist competitors, while on the other hand injury prevented the BJJ competitor in USDC 2 from being able to compete well, and BJJ injury has also has also apparently ended Rokas's martial arts career. But still everyone should do bjj? Cool story.
Rokas we met in season 2 yes I agree with Akido I’m now doing Karate but still practicing Akido as well as self defence in my karate dojo some of my instructors comment how they hate being thrown but as I tell them it’s more to understand different things I use every thing I’m shown so I’m now 5th grade Akido and 7th karate but I also do comps so I learn from them all as nothing will help in a fight unless you realise all marital arts help
Having the right to do something doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. You have the right to walk through a lion den, that doesn't make it the right thing to do.
Awesome interview 🔥
Cheers Craig! Great effort on the show mate, we’d have you in a bar with us anytime! 🍻
