    Just got this car today and I love it! This may seem underpowered and has mediocre specs but when you finally drive it, this car offers more than what's on paper and checks all the boxes on my needs.
    Wala ring lag compared to CVT.

    Speed sensing door locks should be mandatory for new cars in this day and age.
    I have an Xpander GLS and one of the gripes I have is that Mitsubishi appears to have deliberately disabled it even though it says in the manual that it should have been enabled. Worse, the dealerships won't enable it for free and owners need to resort to ETACS programming to switch it on. The worst part? Warranty will be voided if you do that.

      im curious what was the explanation of dealership about this? the car already had the feature why disable it on purpose?

      Same nitpick on our 2024 model. Tho for less than 1.1M net price when we got the unit, can't really complain with the 100+k discount.
      I'm very much happy that it comes with telescopic steering, EPB with APB & BAH, Cruise Control and the best ground clearance for that price.

      I'd rather have less electronics in my car. It's just a 1st world problem anyway. As a driver, it's your responsibility to check if the doors are locked before driving off. It's a simple press of the lock button (or a simple lock of the driver side door - depending on vehicle) on the driver's side which takes half a second. It's the same responsibility to ask your passengers to wear their seatbelt before driving off. You can do both actions at the same time and it takes a few seconds to deal with it.

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pkpnyt4711I would've agreed if it was the electronic parking brake (which, ironically, the new Xpanders now have, for something that you're referring to as having "less" electronics), but a simple speed-sensing door lock is such a simple mechanism that doesn't require that much sensitive components, and will surely NOT heavily affect the vehicle's operation negatively when it is not working properly or damaged. Having automatically-locking doors when you begin driving just makes it so that you are more focused towards driving, and not have to worry about forgetting to lock your doors.
      That electronic parking brake is surely more costly and painful when it's damaged than a speed-sensing door lock mechanism.

    • @pkpnyt4711
      @pkpnyt4711 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@troy5568 Any electronics including parking breaks (even the stupid radio touch screens - not ergonomic and harder to manipulate when changing something while driving) are just issues waiting to happen. That's why I said I'd rather have less electronics in my first sentence. What you call simple electronic mechanism isn't as simple as you think it is. It's connected to one of the black boxes in your vehicle and is prone to have electrical problems. Even a simple reset for that thing is such a hassle. Every car manufacturer forum I've been to will have a discussion on how to reset it. The solution is typically (if you have no issue with your solenoid or any mechanism) you have to discharge and charge the system by removing your car battery for a 15 minutes to an hour - and that doesn't work 100% of the time - there are people saying it'll be there every few months with the same issues and they do the reset and it works fine for a few months. So , no thanks on having to worry about more issues down the line. Agree to disagree it is and that's fine, but electronics in cars is getting out of hand and it's basically done so you bring your car in for repairs or buy a new one (planned obsolescence).

    I think electric hybrids are useless in the Philippines specially if you have a stop start system (you will end up turning it off). Almost all start stop systems are useless in traffic because it just ends up depleting your battery faster (as in less than a year or each year you end up changing batteries if you use start stop). This is an issue with all cars with start stop. Another issue is the cost when the battery or motor for the hybrid dies. If you don't replace it you will leave the function of the hybrid off, if the car has the option to do this. If not, you will need to find a way to disable it without voiding your warranty. I'd rather just buy a full gas engine, All you worry about is oil change every 6 months and you will run that car for at least 10 years. I swear I will be the last person on earth to buy a hybrid or an electric car.
    EDIT: Love the poste test!

    • @hansip87
      @hansip87 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well this one has additional starter engine so instead of standard start stop, this one can reduce the battery load doing start stop. That's the main selling point. Buying this and disables it just defeat the whole purpose.

    Was quite expecting more for its fuel efficiency, given I can do 19+km/l on the highway with a 2024 Xpander GLS with 6 pax on board and some luggage. And yeah, you can still be fuel efficient with a 4AT as what I always get.
    The XL7 is almost of a great value if only it has telescopic steering, too and a bigger armrest... or maybe just got a bit spoiled with the Xpander.

      Surprised with their review on fuel economy.
      Can do more than their review, even when loaded. We got that XL7 "mild" hybrid to get 20kpL with 7 on the highway. Did a trip from Antipolo to La Union and then back, doing 15kpL combined. Another trip to Baguio, Benguet from Antipolo with just the a quarter of the tank used, including heavy traffic getting out of Manila.

Whenever you're driving in the town and you know it's not fast, keep the speed under 40 and you will not have regenerative brake working, here you can simply do coasting like non hybrid. But if you can go much faster, it is recommended not to do coasting and use cruise control whenever you're able to use it, only coast if you know your battery is low and need charging. But if not, just keep the speed constant by cruise control.

    been waiting on this review . Firstly Suzuki Philippines makes some of the worst product spec choices,why does this have the 12v instead of the 48v that can keep the ac on when active,why are they using an aftermarket infotainment system when the one Suzuki provides globally for this gives wireless android auto? Despite that its a good product overall product that has the most space in the third row for adults and the bottle holders can take a 2l bottle which is way more than the competition and for a family car stuff like that matters.For the speed sensing door locks,there are a plethora of aftermarket plug and play odbs you can get. For persons comparing this to the BRV just because one of the varients matches up price wise to this,youre getting way less in that varient compared to this,you dont even get cruise control for crying out loud. Yeah you get more power and torque which I suppose will make you feel good when you beat a Vios in that coveted stoplight drag race,in your family MPV.

    OK so in short Suzuki XL7/Ertiga are fake hybrids, false advertisements. Mother Earth drives a Toyota Crown Hybrid in Japan and she thinks these Suzuki's are the same and wants to buy these here when they are clearly not and are very far from what she is used to driving, for example the Toyota's Hybrid's does propel and run the car when it has charge and is below 40/50kmph = large savings on fuel (her Honda Step WGN Hybrid 2023 in Japan also works the same as Toyota's Hybrid), these Suzuki's cannot do such hence worse efficiency even compared to non Hybrids such as the Avanza, Rush, Xpander, BRV etc. We badly need that Nissan Serena E-Power on the Philippine market, Honda refuses to import any of its Hybrid cars here in PH.

    17km/L on the highway is so-so. I believe it can do a lot better with another gear.
