It's not really the wheels but the tires, just make them thicker (aspect ratio) and wider, then the looks and stance will compensate. We should be aware that this falls under MPV segment and NOT SUV, the reason for having thinner and narrower tires (same as it goes with Veloz). If it falls under SUV segment, then it's the opposite, like the Rush.
Because it’s no longer a body on frame truck mpv which sits higher thus making the wheel arches smaller unlike this that they need to make the wheel well/arches larger to accomodate the lower sitting stance.
Very good for those businessmen/women who wants to be driven than drive daily in Manila area. But the Custin Lux variant is more "pang mayaman" look outside and inside but underwhelming power. Zenix being a hybrid is a huge deal for some imo. Nice review ADPH.
i manage to test one of these they are actually more refined and quiet than the innova. the 2nd row was like sitting on a hiace it was relaxed and spacious so good for those claustrophobic people. But the drawback was the down on power but in a good way though. Its more comfort focused with passable quality to get that so called premium feel. PLus its a hybrid so lesser trips to gas stations.
Yeah I thought the Tamaraw FX was the precursor to the Revo which was the precursor to the Fortuner. I didn't know it went to the Innova which seems like a smaller car.
Great review as always! Almost everything is great about this car - the platform, the space, the tech. But if there's one thing holding it back from being a bestseller, it's that price. I'm not saying it's not worth it, but it is expensive. The fuel economy though is fantastic! Cheers!

Battery (and electric motor/s) are 2 of the main concerns of these hybrids 'in long the term' say, past 6 years or so, can't imagine the cost of replacing it. And mind you, it still has an engine to maintain
Battery replacement usually cost around 200 to 300k but these hybrid batteries could easily last 10 years or more. However the main concern here is flood. I know that the battery is sealed but it is really not advisable to pass through floods
@@SweetKat Yes I agree, flood is another one, imagine with those electronics, ECU itself is a headache na, what more pa yang EV system kung binaha. Moreover, we are a tropical country as well, so the quality and behavior of these batteries are about to be tested for longevity in our climate.

Ito din ang pinagpilian namin, in the end, we chose Zenix Q because of it being a hybrid and ride height. Some car mechanic review says toyota hybrid cost less in terms of overall maintenance compared to a gas car but I still doubt it. Sa ngayon kasi, casa lang talaga ang service ng hybrid. No, they dont have. It's either a gasoline engine with hybrid or without hybrid. Non Zenix Innovas are the ones that still has the diesel engine as an option.
I'd say the Zenix, now that they are more of a car that truck, is really competing directly with the Custin, and I think if Nissan brings the ePower Serena, that would be a valid competitor.
393 NM torque is more than the Diesel (a bit). It's crazy that they even brought the non-hybrid cause the combustion engine alone has always been lackluster, even in the previous generation.
@@SLiX-thatguy11m- toyota never relased a combined torque output number. That 393nm they stated is from adding the 187nm from the ICE and 206NM from the electric motor. But they said it doesnt work that way.
Hello Caco. Thank you for this review of the Zenix. But we have the following concerns to settle before deciding to get one. 1) Can the Zenix Hybrid system handle long distance driving? Say a minimum of 600-kM in one straight driving. This is a combination of highway and provincial road conditions. 2) Will the under chassis supports (and shock absorbers) be able to handle its maximum passenger & cargo capacity on long distance driving? 3) How good will the Zenix handle a series of tight corner turns? And we mean continuous tight turns that can stretch for 70-kM at a time. 4) Is there a speed range that the Hybrid system will take over and power the Zenix? Given the above concerns that we have. Is it a Zenix that we should be considering to buy, or will it be another type of a Toyota vehicle model? Hope you can help us decide. We will appreciate knowing any feedback we can hear from you. Salamat Caco and AutoDeal Team.

Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive uses e-CVT (which is actually Planetary Gear based). Matibay yan (especially when you hear how long these have been running in the USA)
I would love to see Top Gear Philippines with Caco, Ramon Bautista and another car TH-camr that has the same style as James May. Caco would be the Richard Hammond of the Philippines 😅

Toyota should start offering Zenix and Innova with light interior like those in the older models of Innova. This is especially true for the Zenix. Dark plastics and seats aren't just classy.
