    Join us for grand rounds this week where Dr. Gemma Percival, a PGY3 anesthesia resident in Saskatoon, and Dr. Oksana Prokopchuk-Gauk, the Provincial Medicine Lead with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and an adult hematologist, discuss the use of albumin in the perioperative setting.
    Gemma Percival (MD, MN) is a third-year anesthesiology resident based in Saskatoon. She earned her medical degree from the University of Calgary and possesses a masters in Nursing Leadership and Management from the University of Toronto.
    Dr. Oksana Prokopchuk-Gauk is the Provincial Medicine Lead with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and an adult hematologist with the Saskatchewan Bleeding Disorders Program based at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. She completed her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a Hematology residency in Calgary and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship in Edmonton. Dr. Prokopchuk-Gauk actively participates in provincial and national transfusion medicine committees, including the National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products. Her research interests include identifying strategies to improve transfusion safety and blood utilization and optimize perioperative care in patients with bleeding disorders.
