    It is looking like an EQ is a must. I was late in the game when it came to compressors, Now I wont play with out one. This will probably be the same story. You are not the only TH-cam cannnel promoting the importance of at least having a budget friendly EQ. Thank you-Great video.

    Alex- great video man! I hadn't thought to put an EQ after reverb or within the effects loop of a time-based pedal to manipulate the delays. Also thanks for demonstrating that the Joyo is effective among the affordable options. Cheers!

    Some really great ideas in this video. The overdrive option seems really useful. The one with the delay pedal was cool too.

    Great video - are you able to get that AM Radio tone? You touched on it a little bit at the 'cocked wah' section.

    Hi. Does the joyo eq 6 band serve as a booster?

    • @AlexPriceMusician
      @AlexPriceMusician  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Though it doesn’t have a master volume, you can use it as a boost with each of the individual frequencies controls.

    hey man, great video. what do you think about the pedal? do you think it's worth to be on the road(reliable)? I already have the hx stomp and a couple of drives and compressor on my board, I would like to know if this would be good for pre-eq/always-on pedal for tone shaping purposes.

      I’ve had it for nearly 5 years now and haven’t had an issue. I think if anything is going to give out, it’d be the switch. If you’re using it as always on then I wouldn’t worry about it.
      The EQ capabilities of the HX Stomp are way better though. Personally I would build that into each preset.

      @@AlexPriceMusician thanks for your feedback man, appreciate it. do you notice any tone loss when connected to the pedal compared to having the guitar direct?

    • @AlexPriceMusician
      @AlexPriceMusician  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HX Stomp actually has an analog bypass! If you do plan on using it just for effects going straight into a real amp though I really don’t notice an issue. It’s a great piece of gear and I think digital processing has come a long way since what most of us remember from 10 years ago

      Sorry Mark I just realized you were asking about the Joyo Eq. The Joyo is true bypass and no I don’t notice any tone loss. I think for the money it’s worth trying. If you absolutely hate it, no harm done. At least it was incredibly expensive

      Just got the pedal. The build quality looks solid and it functions well to the point that it has replaced my Boss EQ pedal which is also great too but the reason why I replaced it is because my Boss Pedal was made in the 80s or 90s so it probably might need to retire although no noticeable problems.

      Boss EQ pedals are a little noisy too so it’s not a unique thing
