I think you guy should do a wrap up 2 hr episode, the grownup kids returning to the mountain to say goodbye to Daddy, reminisce about growing up on Walton’s mt with flashbacks from previous episodes. Mention could be made of those who have died like the Godseys and Baldwin sisters. Viewers could see what became of the Walton kids etc. You could write and pitch it, Judy.
I was thinking what would/could it be. You are right..that is a great idea for a storyline. Anyone still alive that didn't feel up to it, could do something like Andy Griffith did when Aunt Bee just phone in her part...If the people that care and continue (like Judy - those like her) - were involved, the chance of the quality could happen...
This isn't a bad idea. It would only work if it was the siblings looking back. They did something like this called " A decade of the Walton's." It appears at the end of the season 8 DVD. ( They counted from the time the Homecoming came out).
Who owns the intellectual property?? I'm pretty sure Judy doesn't... Whether it's Hamner heirs or the production company... That's where a project would have to start.
Great to hear Jon talk about the Walton's and life in general. It would be nice to do one more Walton reunion special with the remaining surviving cast just sitting at the kitchen table just reminiscing either in character or as themselves about the different episodes. But only do this when all original cast members schedule can accommodate. It would be a great way to even acknowledge those cast members who have passed. That would be awesome.
Dave, just to see everyone together would be awesome. I was just commenting to DarkVader, that Judy's format has given us many reunions, as we had the privilege of listening to them as themselves and appreciating them even more and what their roles on The Waltons meant to us.
We have really enjoyed this series with Jon Walmsley. It’s been fantastic learning more about him. Thank you, Judy and Jon, for doing this it was enjoyable. 😃 😊
A Walton's reunion doesn't need to happen; if only because of your channel; I mean sharing the interviews like this one and the appearances that you've all done together where you meet & greet and sign autographs really shows me that this TV family has materialized in the real world. God Bless you all.
John thank you for shareing your time and telling us your fans about your time on the waltons as jason and all the wonderful scenes you had on the show. i will always love you as jason walton because i love the show so much. ❤
this is so nice judy that you share your scenes with john about his role as jason on the waltons. i love watching how you both are still connected with each other which is so great. i think this is so amazeing that you are all so much as a family. ❤
I loved the show and get excited to watch old reruns it makes me feel like a kid again Thank you for such fond memories and for great moral teachings from the show ..maybe new folks watching might learn from them
Judy, thank you so much for doing this! I had never watched The Waltons until a few months ago and my Husband and I binge watched all 9 seasons. Im 29 yrs old and I am proud to say that it is my favorite show. Thank you for all you do!
It's always nice to hear when someone from the " younger generation" discovers and enjoys the Walton's! It was such a part of my childhood and watching it makes me feel safe and protected.
@@megfuchs9425 Hi Jessica and Meg, I might not be from the younger generation, I am in my 50s, but I only recently watched the entire run of the Waltons (many times over since) in Late Spring of 2021! I also think it is super-great that the generation(s) before us can appreciate This timeless show! 😁 My Teenage son has watched this show with me and he likes the show, but I think he might need a few more years to relate to it because there are too many technological distractions for our youths (computer/gaming etc). 🤨
Thanks Judy, missed so many of these interviews , and they have been so interesting, educational, enlightening, and refreshingly humble, and sweet ! The cast of the Waltons really seem to be part of a real family , not just actor friends, the relationship goes deeper!! You folks really had something deep , and special seen very little in Hollywood! Thanks again for this interview with Jon!! Keep them coming!!
Thank you again, Judy and Jon. You have no idea what a treat it is seeing you both. I completely understand how having the Waltons reunion would be difficult without out the cast that are not with us anymore. But one where you get together and reminisce about old times would be great! Just to see you all together would be wonderful!! You both have brought so much pleasure to one of your biggest fans, and I thank you! Happy Holidays!🥰
@@jonwalmsleymusichiii Jon! I really love and enjoyed watching your whole video with Judy ❤ I’m Jamie - a huge Waltons fan and only 23 and autistic. If you see this, my dream of you replying to me one day will come true! I just found your channel and subscribed to you and will watch all your videos now! :) I love watching you as Jason all the time! I’m just about to start season 2, you’re the best!
Y’all talk back and forth like real siblings. I think that’s the same way you did on the show and that made it so real and enjoyable. It’s great to see all the children are still pretty much keeping in touch. I thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed this talk with the both of you! ❤
Thanks for the interview with John Walmsley. I watched Waltons religiously for at least two decades of my life and now I own a set of the full episodes, all seasons (except the last one). Anyway, as a musical child, I harbored a crush on the character of Jason. I often still have dreams of being born in that time and capturing Jason's heart with my musical talent. Haha. I'm probably too much of a dreamer to ever have fit into that family but sometimes I feel like the eighth Walton sibling.
I didn’t want it to end, Judy. I could watch your broadcast every day. I especially enjoy the guest you bring on. I feel like I am 8 (1971) years old again, whenever you reminisce. In February, I turn 61 and feel as if I grew up with all of you. I guess, I did. God bless. Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️
Thank you, Judy and John I really enjoyed these innerviews of talking about the episodes of John being in.He is a talented entertainer.I always loved his singing and playing the 🎸.
Oh my goodness I loved this show so much thank God for the apps that let's the fans watch reruns of the show ... it takes me right back to my childhood and happier times ...thank you so much
Jon knows my favorite episode with Jason is 'The Choice'. It is an awesome episode. One of the best written and directed episodes of the series. It was also the most pivotal episode because it was about Jason and John-Boy's careers. Richard messed up his ankle at the same time Jon had his hand problem. Jon's hair also changed during those early 5th season episodes. Some of the fans noticed it and thought Jason has been recast. No more reunions--Earl Hamner is gone!!! Judy, I have one of your CDs!!!
I just watched the episode wth Merle Haggard last night. It was a great episode. The substory with Yancy getting up the nerve to ask Cissy to marry him was also a hoot. Knowing that they were actually married in real life, that love seemed to show through. I was sad to hear that they divorced. I'm happy to say that Nancy survived the sugery and may be home by Saturday but we had a close call. After she complained about excruciating pain that should not be there, the doctors took her back to surgery and discovered a blood clot that would have paralyzed her if not found and corrected and also part of one bone was pressing against her major nerve to her leg so they had to shave the bone. She seems to be doing well now and I can't wait for her to come home.
Yes John. and she's coming home today. I don't know iif Judy filled you in on my situatiin but since i became verry ill in 2019 I have become a partial shut-in because my medications interfere with the Covid vaccine so I can't go out too many places. Also since I need whee;l chair to walk for more than the distances in my home, i cannot go alone. So I rely on Nancy. My fear was that she would end up paralyzed and we's both be unable to care for ourselves. i don't want to go to a nursing home. Well the other thing i want to tell you is to thank you for your work on "The Waltons". I didn't get to see the show when it first came out because during the time from 1972 to1981 I went to law school, worked construction in northern Maine where I met Nancy , married her in 1974, graduated from law school in 1975, passed the bar in 1976, entered the Air Force with an officers commission, moved from Illinois to San Antonio Texas, had two of my three daughters, and finished my Air Force committment in August of 1981. Not much TV time, But when I was recuperating fro 3 months in the hospital I discovered the show and have been an avid fan since. So much so that i have followed and corresponded with Judy here since i discovered this site and even travelled to Logan County to meet her and Mary Beth. They both are such sweethearts, I wish I would have met all of you back when, I wish I could have been part of the show, but I'm a couple of years older than RIchard so the writers would have had a real problem figuring out where I came from since John was supposed to be in France fighting WWI. As I told Judy, there are so many things about that show that mirror my own life that it fascinates me every time I watch it. She can fill you in on some of that, Thanks so much for writing back. I have always admiired your musical abilities and your characterization of Jason. Wish I could come to England again to meet you but I can no longer fly-as I need to use oxygen. I have been to Europe four times and to London twice back in the days of the Beatles, Carnaby Street, and the 'British Invasion" it was interesting to say the least though i did't ge to Liverpool.
Yes but I wrote too soon. Unfortunately complications set in and she had t undego more surgery. She came home but she was having problems with the way the wound was draining so much fluid so she went back to the hospital this morning for another MRI and more surgery. My daughter called about two hours ago and said she just came out of recovery so I will probably hear tomorrow morning as to her condition. John sent a nice message to me. I really didn't expect that and when I told Nancy she smiled and blushed like a school girl So please thank him for her and me and thamk you for being a friend.. @@judynorton2598
Yes, Jon's warmth and candor can be felt all of the way in NYC (From England!) He is so modest about his immense talent and gift to this world. and always, a handsome engaging gentleman. Thank you Judy.
Those 2 episodes Jon spoke of were definitely 2 of my favorites! Both so heart tugging ❤ I really enjoyed this conversation with Jon and his behind the scenes stories. Thank you both for this remembering ❤️
I really enjoyed the show that jon did with the actress who played Verdie when she was trying to trace her family tree. It was very powerful. Could you do a show on that?
Thank you for this extended time with Jon. Two TV siblings shooting the breeze. It would be hard to pull a reunion off like is suggested in the comments on this episode of your talk with Jon. However, I do not think it would be totally impossible. There is definitely an audience for it which helps. Just not sure where the money to back it would come from. I will be getting his CD which had Earl Hamner on it. Next weekend I will start listening to your Christmas CD. Looking forward to that. Take care, Judy.
Thank you! You were the siblings I always wanted & never had. A reunion would be great with you all at your ages & the storyline is mourning John, Grandma & the Godseys & Baldwins, & Yancy, etc. It would be awesome if you had imput to the script & were able to correct the mistakes in the family history that were in the other movies. Love and peace to you, Jon & all the "Waltons" Family. Hugs & Merry Christmas
Judy, Jon, hands down is my favorite guest (with Michael as a close, close second). I wish him well. I would love to ask him a bunch of question such as his favorite guitar to play and so on. So, if you can talk him into it, I'd love to know what equipment he uses and how his practice routine is setup and so on. As always, thanks for a safe place to visit twice a week!
Thanks Jack. My favourite guitar is my Gibson ES 345. I’ve had it since 1965. My favourite amp is an old Fender Deluxe Reverb I bought from Tom Leadon, brother of Bernie Leadon from The Eagles (and the guitar player in Tom Petty’s original band, Mudcrutch). I practice any time I can!
Judy, great finish!! Until you mentioned it, I never really thought of the Waltons as being an ensemble cast! I guess, it was because y’all played your part as a family so well! Even though John Boy was based on Earl Hamner I never really thought about the show being just about John boy! The show was special in a way that there’s never been another show quite like it! A great final episode with Jon, the interview, as a whole, was very enjoyable!💫
I am always amazed at how humble Jon Walmsley is. He is so self-effacing and quiet and calm that he continues to impress me all the more each time I hear him speak. Judy, you have again been just wonderful leading an interview and giving Jon time to share himself with us. You and Jon made time fly again, and I am so glad I got to hear you both make each other smile. I have to get busy and get both your and Jon's CDs before the holidays get away from me. Peace.
I love seeing different cast members supporting each other. Jon talking ahout how he loves your Christmas CD made me really happy. ❤️😊 thank you so much for doing this Judy, it was lovely.
I have enjoyed this interview with Jon. I appreciated every character on the Walton’s, but honestly Mary Ellen and Jason were my two favorite of the children!
You are limited to reunions around a table much like a live stream. The last one I am thinking of was we saw Ralph Waite and Earl Hammer with Walton kitchen as a back set
So Wonderful to see you and Jon talk about the show and things in your lives. that episode with Seth was very touching and the one with Merle Haggard was Great as well. Looking Forward to Your next video. God Bless and take care Judy.
Am watching "The Battle of Druscilla's Pond" as I type this. I always loved how Jason was developed into a very strong yet mild mannered character like John with the undeniable musical talent.
I apologize if you have answered this question. I don't have time right now to look back through all the comments. But, did Jon struggle with trying to speak without a British accent? I had no idea that he was British. Love this interview!
@@jonwalmsleymusic Oh, my gosh! I got a personal answer from Jon! I was really excited when Judy answered me too - in a previous video! I guess I didn’t realize it would be possible to talk without an accent. Especially someone so young. I also didn’t realize you were Christopher Robbin! Such an adorable little voice you had. ☺️
I agree! Jon Walmsley has a very animated, strong and captivating (singing) voice. From the many Walton episodes where he sang melodies and even drilled his army soldiers, his voice was quite fitting for his characters and appealing to the audience. His vocal range (like Judy's) is impressive, he can sing slow ballads and good ol' rock and roll blues. 🎸😁
I loved Jon's story about recording "Ironing Board Blues"! Also, I am not sure a reunion show would work anymore. As much as I would love to see something, I just think we have to just rewatch and remember the original!! ❣️
I've really been enjoying your interview with Jon and hearing about his career not only with his years on the Waltons but before and after the series, i saw him on two episodes of Daniel Boone playing a friend of Israel Boone played by Darby Hinton and on one episode of Adam-12 as well the Disney films he did and what he is doing now and I really enjoyed the interview and I wish you and everyone a very Merry Christmas Thank You Judy.🇺🇸📺📺🇺🇸 🎵🎶🎼🇺🇸📺🇺🇸🎼🎶🎵
These last 4 segments with Jon have been outstanding and I got to learn so much about Jon and his career. If a reunion movie was made, as good as it may be, it wouldn't be the same without those that have passed away and would be very sad as you'd be thinking of them all😢. I agree with Jon that things are best to end on a high. Thank you Judy, this means so much and is priceless. Best wishes as always to you from your waltonian superfan in a grey and cold England😉
Greetings to Judy's Superfan in cold England😁 I've caught up with the dynamic Jon Walmsley interviews, What an exhilarating treat that was! DarkVader, I would have to agree. As much as a reunion is coveted, the enormity of those memorable characters that have passed would be too deeply felt, and the pressure of the remaining cast to fill that emptiness for the audience might be too tall of an order. Watching Judy's videos is much like a Waltons reunion, with all of her personal anecdotes and guest segments. Which is a treasure for generations. Best Wishes to all and to all a very Merry Christmas and Holiday 😇💚❤
@@darkvader7231 DarkVader - remember your "Top 5 Walton Episodes question" many months ago? I think it needs to be reasked as "Top 200+". 🤩 Recently I rewatched "The Unthinkable:" with guest star Todd Susman playing Ted Lipinski who comes to stay for the weekend with Jason and his family. Jon's chemistry with Todd and the storyline was Emmy-award-worthy! Amongst Jon's outstanding storylines, this was definitely one of my top fav episodes. I especially loved the ballad they sang together as Jason played the guitar. superb acting once again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@darkvader7231 I think Todd Susman as Ted Lipinski was in 2 episodes? Since Jon Walmsley's 4 part special here, a resurge of impactful episodes where Jon leads comes to mind: He helps Verde find her ancestry, He is deliberating about joining the military, and his friendship with Ted Lipinski. There are many more, but I can't name the episodes It is only 6:00AM in a rainy damp chilly NYC. The top 200+ continues. Thanks, DarkVader.
Part 4... awesome ! Thank you Ms Judy and Mr. Jon Walmsley. Really enjoyed these episodes with Mr. Jon Walmsley. May you both and with your families have a wonderful Christmas and a healthy Happy New Year.
Thank you for this installment. So nice to see you two together. Very happy to tell you your Christmas CD is in heavy rotation at my house. Greetings from New York 😊
Judy, I've enjoyed ALL your interviews, but, none more than with Jon Walmsey. The "flow" between the two of you is so easy. Jon, you were the reason I took up guitar and years later mandolin. If only I possessed even half your skill! 👏👏 A possible idea for a reunion...using those remaining/willing cast members and pick-up where the Real-Life Hamners would be at this stage of life?? Just a suggestion. I was 13 when The Walton's premiered. To this day, it is my favorite program!❤ Even if a network would be willing to produce a "new version", I don't suppose these times would make it the success it was then....the times of respect, wholesomeness, neighborly love, etc have ridden into the sunset. But, more than that, the talented cast could never be rivaled!! Hope to see more interviews. Love to all. God bless...
Judy, I had the pleasure of binge watching the Waltons today. The episode of when the house caught fire and the family was split up aired. I love all the episodes but particularly that episode, which was very emotional. I must say each of you, the cast, are /were great actors. Every time i watch, i see something i missed before, and the message changes, if ever so slightly. I believe that's reflective of what's going on in my life and the storyline connecting at that level. After all this time, watching the Waltons is one of my favorite things. Best Regards, Randy
To Jon, thank you so much for this whole wonderful 4 part segment that I really enjoyed so much! I loved hearing everything you shared and I just ordered Earl Hamner Joyful noise CD! I love seeing you as Jason in The Waltons ❤ to Judy, thank you for interviewing Jon and sharing it with us all, also your Christmas CD is arriving at my house any day now! Judy and Jon, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year! Sending lots of love, Jamie ~ huge Waltons fan ✨
The Wedding 2 parter is on now!!! I've seen Jon holding his right arm out of view twice so far!! 🤣🤣 Thank y'all for this!! I met Haggard once in a mall!! Very polite man!!
I loved that scene with you and Jon in The Wedding episode. There was another sweet scene that I loved with you two in The Obsession. I wish they would have featured him more. As much as I adored John Boy’s character and thought he was the perfect big brother, I remember thinking that Jason was just as perfect as a big brother in his own unique way. It was such a gift to watch this interview, thank you so much for sharing this with us!💕
Hi Judy and Jon. One of my favorite Jason Walton episodes is The Breakdown. Season 4 Episode 6. I also love those episodes directed by the late great Ivan Dixon The Breakdown really gave a better insight into the character. The reminder that Jason is definitely the Son of John and Olivia Walton and Grandson of Zebulon and Esther. Jason is hardworking, kind, intelligent, dependable. It's just a wonderfully well performed episode. Thank you Judy and John. This was indeed a "treat." Perhaps a Christmas album with the two of you next year is a possibility. Happy Holidays to you both and to all those you love. 😊
Thanks so much, Judy and Jon for sharing with us! The Gift was truly moving! You were all so young, yet able to portray deep emotions. All you Walton's in character and life are a real joy for us! I hope you two do collab a musical project! And, contrary to Richard's saying he's not a singer, I thought he sang beautifully while demonstrating the dulcimer. What kind of reunion do you think perhaps Earl might approve? It's apparent the series influenced fans worldwide! I once dreamed there was a lottery where fans who won could be extras on the show! Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and good New Year. Blessings to Waltons everywhere ❤
I just finished the series of the Walton's. I loved the show as much now as I did when I was child. I broke my foot in December.and wanted to watch something that gave me peace while I recuperate. I thought of the Walton's immediately. Thank you for such a great show and great memories. Thank you Judy for keeping the Walton's front and center still.
One of my very favorite episodes in the whole series was, "Grandma Comes Home", and one of the most endearing scenes, in my opinioin, was when Jason was playing the piano with Grandma. No ceremony, no special treatment, just playing the piano. May be simple to most, but I love it so much. Thanks or interviewing Jon!! 😊 One last thing. I know that you said that a second Christmas cd was not even a consideration at this point in time, but that doesn't mean I can't make suggestions for songs...lol!! No, the two I'm thinking about are not the same old same old that we have heard over and over and over again. The first was the one I suggested last year, "Merry Christmas" , originally sung by Judy Garland (there's a video on youtube), and one that Kate Bush sang years ago, called, "Christmas Eve in my Hometown". Both are right up your alley, and both are wonderful. Just asking that you keep it in mind somewhere down the road, possibly. :)
This really was fun to hear you and Jon reminiscing about past shows and also what he is doing now with his music. Thanks for doing this whole series of interviews. So much fun!
As usual Judy another great episode i just love listening to the stories about back in the day when you guys were on the Waltons, It makes me feel like I'm listening to my brother and sister talking about old times. Thank you so much Judy and may God bless you and your family and I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas and an outstanding New Years. ✌💞 & Happiness to you and Jon.
It was so sad when Jon said "a lot of us are gone" while talking about a potential reunion. I never met Ralph or Ellen or Will but I still miss them, I sure the cast does too. And Jon is right I guess, it wouldn't be the same.
Do you think the audience would take to a whole bunch of characters they don’t know for only a couple of hours? I think that is the challenge with a reunion of so many new characters.
I so enjoyed listening to Jon and hearing about his life during and after The Waltons and his musical career. He is a very interesting person and so down to earth. Judy I am carrying on with my tradition to watch The Homecoming each Christmas season. It is such a special episode to me. The show transforms me back to a sweet and simpler era and it also transforms me back to the first time I saw the show when I was a young 16 years old. The show gave me wonderful feelings at that age as it still does today. You kids were so cute and Patricia was the perfect mom for that particular role. I have always said Michael could not have done The Homecoming like Patricia and Patricia could not have carried the series on as well as Michael. I have to tell you Judy that I have to put my mind at ease when watching now because of all of the inside information on how the shows are made. I blank out thinking of camera people, sound people, lighting people and so on standing right out of the camera view. I just bought an 85 inch tv, it is on the wall and this is the first time I have seen The Homecoming on such a large screen. It immerses you in the show almost making you feel like you are there. Next I am going to watch The Best Christmas episode. I also have the "new" Homecoming which I do like but it can never match the feeling of the original. It just does not have the same feeling of the era like the original. I have always wondered about the city lady missionary. Was she a little off? Did she know Elizabeth's doll was broken or did she not? Were all of the gifts broken or not? I question her mind when she said The BlueRidge mountains were filled with heathens. Did she misspeak or was she a little nuts? Loved the Baldwins too. I wonder who lit all of those candles on the tree and chandelier? I know it was done for effect for a beautiful scene but in real life I wonder who would have done that for them. I guess Hawthorne.
So glad you continue to watch and enjoy The Homecoming each year. I think the missionary lady was just meant to be single minded in her view of folks like those of Waltons Mountain. There was probably something a bit “off” about all the gifts as they were second hand. That tree at the Baldwins was amazing with all the real candles. Hard to think who would have lit and blown out the candles each day. I think you’re right about Hawthorne as he worked for them.
Thanks Judy, I enjoyed hearing from Jon and look forward to hearing from many of the others in the future. Every year at this time I put together our family Holiday reunion which we just held this past Sunday. A game called the ornament game was introduced about 15 years ago that we now play every year. Everyone brings an ornament, I take turns asking each one a trivia question if they get it right they pass their ornament to the left, if they miss it they trade their's with me. This year the questions were from old TV shows. As I was coming up with the questions I found out that Danny Bonaduce's sister, Cilia, made one acting appearance on TV. My question was on what show did she make her one and only appearance on. While researching this question I found out the answer was The Waltons. I goggled it and found it was the episode when Jason was trying to win the scholarship to Klineb urge, she was the girl he was competing against in the episode. I found this very interesting. Do you have any interesting tidbits like that you could share with us? As always take care, stay safe and GOD BLESS.
Sounds like a fun family game. I discovered that same piece of “trivia” when I talked about that episode. We have had any number of trivia worthy guests.
I loved this interview with Jon Walmsley. I know you talked about it in the interview, but I really think it would be cool if you and Jon do hook up and do a music CD. A reprise of Ironing Board Blues, perhaps?

Earl Hamner actually pitch a script that was rejected. Go figure.

I also think it is super-great that the generation(s) before us can appreciate This timeless show! 😁 My Teenage son has watched this show with me and he likes the show, but I think he might need a few more years to relate to it because there are too many technological distractions for our youths (computer/gaming etc). 🤨
So glad you have discovered the series and you are enjoying it.
Hi Judy Jon The Waltons Love my favorite one fan Big Mary Christmas 🎄 ☃️ ❄️ 💖💖🎶
Thank you so much.
always enjoyed the scenes with Jason and Grandma on the piano. so sweet
Those were very special.
That was certainly a treat to have 4 episodes with Jon Walmsley , a conversation between good friends ❤
Indeed!
Loved having Jon join me for these segments. Such a treat.
We have been so fortunate to have each other in our lives for all these years. So special.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
This has been such a great series. And a big thank you to Jon for appearing on the Waltons’ podcast that Mark J. puts out every couple of weeks.☺️🎧
Such a treat to have Jon join me.
Y’all talk back and forth like real siblings. I think that’s the same way you did on the show and that made it so real and enjoyable. It’s great to see all the children are still pretty much keeping in touch. I thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed this talk with the both of you! ❤
Thanks, Janice!
So glad you enjoyed our visit.
The gift one of my all time favorites ,Judy thank you and all your wonderful guest ✝️💜
Our pleasure. Thanks for joining us.
That’s lovely. 🥰
I still think of the Waltons every Thursday at 8pm.
Thank. you so much.
Thank you so much for watching.
Thank you, Judy and John I really enjoyed these innerviews of talking about the episodes of John being in.He is a talented entertainer.I always loved his singing and playing the 🎸.
Thank you for joining us.
Oh my goodness I loved this show so much thank God for the apps that let's the fans watch reruns of the show ... it takes me right back to my childhood and happier times ...thank you so much
So happy to hear that.
I am so happy you had Jon several times. Jason was one of my favorites.
Thanks Marilyn!
Love. Tip of the hat to Merle and Jon. God Bless country music.🎻
Thanks for your ongoing support of the series!
You Done Great! Jon Walmsly, ms Judy, you are Always Spectacular! Im sure Ol Merle, thought what a shame I did not get to do any scenes with Ms Judy !
Thank you, that’s so sweet.
Glad to hear the good news. You must be so relieved!
Yes John. and she's coming home today. Not much TV time,
But when I was recuperating fro 3 months in the hospital I discovered the show and have been an avid fan since. She can fill you in on some of that,
Thanks so much for writing back.
Oh my! So glad it was caught and she is doing better.
Sme of Jason's most wonderful iittle moments happen when he is seated at a piano bench and he looks back to smile or react to something! Its true!
Such a great addition to scenes, creating the sense of ongoing family life going on in all directions.
I love these two episodes. Thanks for the info on the 2 different people being the same person
Glad you enjoyed this.
Jon is just the sweetest guy. I love to hear his stories and hear him laugh. And he has a great smile. Thank you once again for this 4 part interview.
Yes, Jon's warmth and candor can be felt all of the way in NYC (From England!) He is so modest about his immense talent and gift to this world. and always, a handsome engaging gentleman. Thank you Judy.
Thanks for joining us for this visit.
I love the Walton’s , I still watch on dvd , its great to see that you all still get on so well 😊
Thank you.
Those 2 episodes Jon spoke of were definitely 2 of my favorites! Both so heart tugging ❤ I really enjoyed this conversation with Jon and his behind the scenes stories. Thank you both for this remembering ❤️
Thanks for joining us.
I really enjoyed the show that jon did with the actress who played Verdie when she was trying to trace her family tree. It was very powerful. Could you do a show on that?
Lynn Hamilton! Wonderful…
I hope to get to it soon. Thanks.
I love the Walton l still watch the Walton.
Thank you.
GREAT LITTLE SWEET SCENE OF JASON GIVING THE BEST ADVICE TO MARY ELLEN AT THE POND
Thanks Elizabeth. I hope you enjoy the CD!
Thanks Elizabeth.
That was so fun and interesting. Nice to hear about the Merle Haggard stuff. I was surprised that you didn’t have many scenes together, what a shame.
I think so too!
I do wish I’d had a chance to do many more scenes with Jon.
Thank you. Happy holidays!!
@Jon Walmsley do you have an accent. I think you are great 😊
Thank you Judy, and John, for another great interview. Thank you for bringing so much joy to all our lives.
Our pleasure.
MERLE HAGGARD IS NO DOUBT MY FAVORITE EPISODE. HE SUNG GREAT SONGS
Thank you so much.
Love these Judy❤
So glad. Thank you.
Peace.
I appreciate your kind comments. I think you will enjoy both CD’s :)
I love seeing different cast members supporting each other. Jon talking ahout how he loves your Christmas CD made me really happy. ❤️😊 thank you so much for doing this Judy, it was lovely.
Our pleasure. Jon was a pleasure to have join me for these segments.
I have enjoyed this interview with Jon. I appreciated every character on the Walton’s, but honestly Mary Ellen and Jason were my two favorite of the children!
Thank you.
Wonderful visit with Jon. Love how his English accent comes out with certain words.
You are limited to reunions around a table much like a live stream. The last one I am thinking of was we saw Ralph Waite and Earl Hammer with Walton kitchen as a back set
Yes, that was some time back.
Absolutely Thank Y'all so kindly! We enjoyed it so much!

Am watching "The Battle of Druscilla's Pond" as I type this. I always loved how Jason was developed into a very strong yet mild mannered character like John with the undeniable musical talent.
I agree!
I apologize if you have answered this question. I don't have time right now to look back through all the comments. But, did Jon struggle with trying to speak without a British accent? I had no idea that he was British. Love this interview!
Hi Cathy, I didn’t exactly struggle, but realised before The Waltons that I needed to be able to sound American to get roles!
Hard to recreate something like the original show.
I've really been enjoying your interview with Jon and hearing
about his career not only with his years on the Waltons but
before and after the series, i saw him on two episodes of

Such a treat for me to have him join me.

The interview again. Was excellent thanks so much judy seeing John was great you always do such a great job
Glad you enjoyed it
These last 4 segments with Jon have been outstanding and I got to learn so much about Jon and his career.
As much as a reunion is coveted, the enormity of those memorable characters that have passed would be too deeply felt, and the pressure of the remaining cast to
fill that emptiness for the audience might be too tall of an order. Watching Judy's videos is much like a Waltons reunion, with all of her personal anecdotes and guest segments. Which is a treasure for generations. Best Wishes to all and to all a very Merry Christmas and Holiday 😇💚❤
@@LisaLisa-2023 Thank you Lisa Lisa and best wishes to you and a very Merry Christmas😉🙌
@@darkvader7231 DarkVader - remember your "Top 5 Walton Episodes question" many months ago? I think it needs to be reasked as "Top 200+". 🤩
Recently I rewatched "The Unthinkable:" with guest star Todd Susman playing Ted Lipinski who comes to stay for the weekend with Jason and his family. Jon's chemistry with Todd and the storyline was Emmy-award-worthy! Amongst Jon's outstanding storylines, this was definitely one of my top fav episodes. I especially loved the ballad they sang together as Jason played the guitar. superb acting once again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@LisaLisa-2023 Yes I remember this episode well, that Lipinski was picked on in the army..but his true worth soon shone through.

You too!
Thank you. Same to you.
Thank you for this installment. So nice to see you two together. Very happy to tell you your Christmas CD is in heavy rotation at my house. Greetings from New York 😊
Judy’s CD is great!
Great to hear.
I'm so glad you guys talked about when Merle Haggard was on the Waltons. ❤ Thanks you for all of it though.
Our pleasure.
Thank you so much for continuing to watch the show.
Further thanks to Judy & Jon! ⛰
So glad you enjoyed these.
@@judynorton2598 I do, indeed. 🌻
Jon Walmsley, every time Jason strums his guitar and sings I play it back a dozen times. It is magic and I find it very hard to move on!
🥰
Judy, I had the pleasure of binge watching the Waltons today. The episode of when the house caught fire and the family was split up aired. I love all the episodes but particularly that episode, which was very emotional. I must say each of you, the cast, are /were great actors. Every time i watch, i see something i missed before, and the message changes, if ever so slightly. I believe that's reflective of what's going on in my life and the storyline connecting at that level. After all this time, watching the Waltons is one of my favorite things. Best Regards, Randy
I understand. I watch the show differently myself at this point in my life.
To Jon, thank you so much for this whole wonderful 4 part segment that I really enjoyed so much! I loved hearing everything you shared and I just ordered Earl Hamner Joyful noise CD! Thanks for watching :)
It was such a gift to watch this interview, thank you so much for sharing this with us!💕
I’m so happy to hear that. Thanks for joining us.
What a wonderful visit, I enjoyed it very much! Thank you, Judy!!! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Judy and Jon. One of my favorite Jason Walton episodes is The Breakdown. Season 4 Episode 6. I also love those episodes directed by the late great Ivan Dixon
The Breakdown really gave a better insight into the character.
A talented combo - Jon and Ivan Dixon.
@@judynorton2598So true Judy.😊
I'm being totally honest when I say you 2 and the rest of the cast Ive seen recently look great! Jon just being as modest as he was on the show!
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. Appreciate the lovely thoughts.
Jon and Judy - yes yes yes! Please please please collaborate on a music project.!
We’ll have to see what we can cook up.
Awesome Ms .Judy !

My pleasure. Thanks for watching. Sorry about the broken foot. No fun 😢
Great Interviews with Jon👍 Tks Judy.

One last thing. :)
Thank you for the song suggestions. I’ll have to look them up.
This really was fun to hear you and Jon reminiscing about past shows and also what he is doing now with his music. Thanks for doing this whole series of interviews. So much fun!
So glad you enjoyed these.

Thanks so much
It was so sad when Jon said "a lot of us are gone" while talking about a potential reunion. I never met Ralph or Ellen or Will but I still miss them, I sure the cast does too. And Jon is right I guess, it wouldn't be the same.
I’m sure it would make us all even more aware of who is missing. 🥲
The reunion can be of the kids grown up with kids of their own.
Do you think the audience would take to a whole bunch of characters they don’t know for only a couple of hours? I think that is the challenge with a reunion of so many new characters.
Mary Ellen and Jason also has a scene where Jason confronts her about being addicted to uppers while taking nurses exams.
Aww… that’s right, thanks for the reminder. 🥰
What a wonderful show. It was enthralling. Thanks so much.
Our pleasure.
Really enjoyed this! It's great to seem like you're all a second Family!
We really are family :)
Jon became a favorite of mine as the series progressed.
Fun idea.
