James Acaster is the best comedian out there, Anothony Jeselnik’s ‘comedy’ is literally just invalidating people’s trauma, yet Anthony had the audacity to tell James that James was telling bad jokes ?? Anthony just embarrassed himself on the episode, James managed to still be his hilarious self

Agree with the first statement, but to be fair to Jeselnik, humor -- especially dark humor -- is how many people help deal with their trauma. Just anecdotally, in my own life there's almost a 1:1 correlation between people who are funny or have great senses of humor, and people who have gone through some shit. Also, I'm not sure how one semi-popular comedian can invalidate someone's experiences, or even has the ability to. Invalid means, "not true because based on erroneous information or unsound reasoning." Tell me, how does even the worst joke make someone's traumatic experiences not true? It just doesn't make sense, it's one of those buzz-phrases that people repeat without actually thinking through what it means. You could argue that he belittles people's trauma, but not that he invalidates it.

Why does everyone who mentions Ed Gamble always refer to him as the comedian Ed Gamble? Is this to distinguish from someone else
named Ed Gamble? The doctor Ed Gamble.

yeah I think the way James responded worked well because of his natural persona, however Jeselnik was just unnecessary and not funny too many times

Anthony Jeselnik. Was a good episode imo though. Sure it was awkward for James but his comedic persona is to be awkward/weird anyway, so I thought it was quite funny how Anthony wasn't having any of it and Ed seemed to be enjoying it
