My documentary short film was officially QC checked and ready to go in January 2023. I’m concerned that tubi still hasn’t picked it up, do you think there’s a chance they still will? If anyone else here has their film on Tubi, how long did it take from your QC approval to Tubi selecting your film?

@Dumb animator oh gotcha ask your parents to copyright your work for you or you could always save up for it with your tubi tv money 💰. Could risk it for the biscuit. You'll have plenty more ideas down the line. At this stage, you shouldn't let copyright discourage you from making money. If you'd like to copyright it, first watch my copyright video if you haven't already

What are the rules about documentary style films where say you want to include a local TV station news report that last 1-2 minutes that discusses your topic as reported by a local news station? Or clips of individuals who are professionals on the topic who have given interviews you find on youtube. Can you legally use clips of those of a certain length without buying the rights to that or running into issues legally? What about stock footage? Do places like filmhub require proof you own the footage or the license downloaded from a stock footage site like I have done? Liked and subbed! Thanks for this.😻❤❤❤

Do TV shows work the same?
Alan, my film is on Tubi at the moment, and I understand the commercial breaks on the streaming platform is how this is monetized, but when I went to the Tubi website, my film is there without commercials. Would that mean I have no chance to make anything if people view the film from the Tubi website?

I'd take a look at where you've placed your ad breaks in your film. You can check it out in your Filmhub settings as well. Beyond that, I'd email Filmhub directly as they have been very responsive to my inquiries in the past.
