  • More often than not, people choose their cars based on their brand. Well, that's not just an opinion; that's a fact of life. This concept applies to other things, as well, such as when you prefer Snickers over Kitkat.
Of course, purchase preferences can be influenced by a lot of things. But most of the time, it's either the price or brand that counts. Some people don't even bother checking the quality of the vehicle and simply trust that it works because, well, that's from the brand they love!
On the flip side, it's also worth noting that there are certain car brands that some or many people kinda hate for a variety of reasons.

I wouldn't consider buying any of these brands. GM was on top in the 60s before Toyota overtook them. Now Toyota has lost its luster, along with the Japanese companies in general. Chrysler had the engineering edge during the performance era. Their problem is that Walter Chrysler died in 1940. Ford made a commitment to quality in the late 1980s which put them in the running for some years. European brands have faced increasing competition in recent years and are no longer ahead of the curve in terms of design. GM is making a comeback with a real approach to the future. They are the ones to watch.
