SCP 163, also known as An Old Castaway is a a sapient organism of extraterrestrial origin first discovered by miners in the Andes Mountains. The miners reported coming across an impenetrable mirrored surface which abruptly disappeared after enough rock was removed from it. 163 was still encased in the reflective sphere and agents were forced to subdue SCP-163, which was violent at the time.

Not mundane. The goal of the SCP Foundation is to protect the world as we know it. Aliens with potential world changing or ending knowledge and tech of currently unknown scientific principals is anomalous. No one knows how the hell this alien survived millions of years in solid rock, how his tech works nor where he's from. All qualifiable as anomalous. Extranormal (something aliens theoretically qualify as) is anomalous until caught up with mainstream science or fully understood. Plus, it must be protected from our world. Secure. Contain. Protect.

Honestly, I'm happy the SCP Foundation is not evil to this SCP. It's not even really anomalous. It's just from another planet. They're willing to let it go home too.

Also, considering it was found in an ancient crash site, and most of the surrounding tech was looted, it probably (rightly) believed itself to be attacked by hostile aliens.

From what I got from his entry (especially with the updates after I first read it), that SCP is not trusted by the Foundation and even though they have little to deter him, they do what they can to keep him away from other SCPs since, again, they don't trust him since they have no idea what limits to his power are or his motivations.

@@Jake-rs9nq That was before the rewrite for him. Some earlier SCPs got removed because the Foundation was TOO accommodating or the SCPs too powerful. Afterward they rewrote him to be less beloved/trusted which does make him more interesting. That said you could argue that 682 Crosstesting could be hoping that at least on of the SCPs is dead by the end for certain ones.

I always got the impression that this alien SCP is relatively young for its species, like a teenager or child. Which makes it all the more tragic...
According to the SCP wiki's working guidelines, any sentient entity, no matter how benevolent or friendly, cannot be safer than "euclid" due to its ability to act with free will. The only reason this SCP is "safe" is because, as apparent by its low number in the 100's, it must have been written before those guidelines were established.

You could say the same with SCP-507, yet that’s also a Safe SCP. Wouldn’t cooperation with foundation personnel and lack of containment breaches make the “Euclid” classification seem out of place?
Sure, sentience can make it unpredictable, but object classes is all about how easy it is to keep locked away; can’t imagine this being making an escape attempt if the foundation permit it to explore the facility it’s at, like SCP-131, SPC-999, and other examples that I’m sure have that same privilege, and are classified as “Safe”.

It likely observed staff smiling and since it's common nature to us we don't see it as too special. However an alien will see everything we do as special and wonder why. Could have been it's way of saying "you made that expression. Why? What's it mean? I assume it's your species' thing to do". The things on an alien's mind observing things we do and how they think of it boggles the mind to have an intelligent opinion of ourselves beyond ourselves.

The only weak spot to me was that it had Earth-like DNA. I think some other form of genetic code would be a better fit.
@@NodDisciple1 That assumes that such codes exist. In the same way it's possible that other life forms subsist on an entirely different chemical and DNA, it's equally possible that all carbon-based life are just variants on the same elements.

This is quite interesting, it is basically a "human" from a different planet, a common inteligent life form, probably escaped from its planet and now it is in an alien enviorement where it cant properly comunicate. At least it seems to be taken good care at the moment

the hands on 163 are close to the ones I draw for humans
I like that style of alien, they remember me of some Lovecraft's alien races. They are, in the beggining, biologically strange to humans, and they seen very threatening, until you study their culture and emotions, then you understand how they are actually very similar to humans on the inside. They are one of the exceptions on the Lovecraftian miths when i feel hope, someway. There is other creatures like the humans on the Lovecraftian universe that suffers the same struggles in the hands of the universe and the Old Ones, and even when they failed to survive, there will be some other race on the future to look up their old achieviments and clap hands, or tentacles, or whatever they have to clap.
I love that you cover lesser known scps, I would have never known about the tides of war if I hadn’t seen the vid. The animation is so amazing and the style is great and the narraration is very amazing, I love the vids!

Sure there’s mass effect and Dune and all those other science fiction universes where everyone is all too eager to tell you what planet they’re from and what it’s like, but this creature...he doesn’t seem to think like that, in my eyes. To him, his homeworld is just “The Homeworld,” nothing more, nothing less.
I could imagine that 163 would just be looking at the one dude with the blocks like "Are you stupid or something..?"

As an “Aspie”, being unable to read & express emotions as easily as other people (as well as understanding what it’s like to miss your home to the point of distress, etc); I can definitely relate with this particular SCP. I would totally try to befriend this misunderstood creature, as I believe everyone with feelings needs at least one person to interact with. We’re all unique in our own ways, but similar in little ways too; & there’s nothing wrong with that... 😊🌍☮️👽
As another “aspie” I agree! 163 is def autistic coded (I feel that way anyway but all my faves are autistic lol) and I love that it happy and unhappy flaps to show feelings. Honestly I just feel 163 on a personal level
I'll be honest, that's the most heartwarming thing I've seen in a youtube comments section. Just that genuine emotional connection to a creature some people would call 'ugly' or 'freaky', and finding kinship with it...just dang,my heart. 😄♥️
I just find this scp and the way the foundation dealt with it very wholesome and kinda cute. I am into horror stuff, but its really nice to see something sweet for a change, like scp 999.

Actually reminds me of that 682-like SCP they kept in a cage for a decade until they started to engage with it and found that it was intelligent, friendly, and a really good cook.
Oh yeah, I think it's Non-Numbered Name was “Yet another Horror Monster”. It was an entity that dissapeared when seen by the blind eye and murdered people to consume them. A researcher decided to study it and realized that the SCP only ate people out of necessity, and chose literally anything else before resorting to eat a human corpse. He was then taught how to read, write and even how to cook, with the D-Class that was assigned to him begging to *come back* ... If I remember correctly, that SCP then became the main chef for the O-5s

I'm surprised that it's a Safe class object, I thought every (or most of) sapient SCPs are defaultly designated as Euclid, due to their ability to try to figure out a way to breach the containment if having a chance or desire to do so

There aren't enough SCP animation channels, and the bulk of what does exist (not trying to throw shade, they're good in their own ways, but they) use kinda lazy and not terrific flash animation *techniques* that look like cardboard cutouts (I'm not sure what you use, but even if you use flash, your work doesn't come off like a cardboard cutout because you don't ONLY animate the mouths, etc. Yours is the most complete and animated of all SCP animation channels I've yet seen).

Also... Just throwing this out there... if you ever need a concept artist- please hit me up. I'm no good with animation, but I'm a decent illustrator.

001-2 is a moon that appears 42 hours into an instance of 001, the 001 event would have increased the time of daylight 001-2 would be a permanent cressent blood moon that would lower the temperature of earths surface by 70+ degrees celceus freezing the 001 creatures in place for the duration of the event ( 2 hours on average ) a red light will fill the a 1km area under 001-2 if 001 creature is in that space it will be instantly evaporated all survivors are drawn to this area if a survivor reaches this area a pear of disimbodyed hands will descend from the sky and take the survivor to the sky and disappear this event is known as the ascension by other survivors .

I’m glad that they have; they make good content, and am always glad to see new artists animating these SCPs, and give us a window past out imaginations. Animation’s a good way of understanding the SCPs, making them more engaging and more well-known; especially after hearing about the popular ones for the hundredth time.
Ya they have been booming recently, I've been hesitantly optimistic because some channels seem to be just hopping on the train with little to no quality. But this channel is totally different I love both the obscure SCP's they pick and the format/presentation.
Its very well edited and Dr.Bob is a fun character to me.
Im glad the foundation is getting more recognition. It has so much variation, and the fact so much is made from the concept of a secret government agency containing anomalies really makes it stand out from other fandoms.

The scp universe needs to evolve. I love reading and knowing new scps. It’s stories and mysteries are amazing, but they just present it to us in a short version where they keep the mysterious setting alive. And this creates a problem.
If the stories doesn’t continue they will die eventually, and the only way to keep users engaged with the scp universe under that short story parameter is to keep making new scps, but that can’t continue forever, or even for a long time.
We need to find a way to make the stories continue, so we can keep this incredible universe alive for a longer time.
One of the main factors of SCP is that you don’t get enough info just to know everything, but enough info to not know nothing. SCPs are supposed to be mysterious, articles usually stay frozen as per guidelines (I think). They can add more info as supplements or tales, but it would be crossing the line with the too much info imo.
@@monarchatto6095 honestly i would prefer if they would add more info to scps, leaving it “mysterious” and “ambiguous” forever kinda takes away from the story telling aspect

Well, this one ended differently than I expected.
I would suggest the scp foundation to match the appropriate living conditions for scp 163 with the relatable atmosphere of other planets and exoplanets so we could find its potential home or its actual home. For example we are looking for a planet that receives very high amounts of ultra violet radiation so scp 163 's eyes are evolved to see in ultraviolet light and the planet has both co2 and oxygen in its atmosphere.

From what I’m getting, this channel’s hella new, and illustration-wise, it’s absolutely vivid. I appreciate that you give life to these files in such a way. In this very specific and motive regard, you gotta a very unique channel. I look forward to more, as you enrich the lore visually. Turns out it is pretty expedient, specially when tallying about those entries that lack any images at all. 👍
SCP-2852 - “Cousin Johnny.” The images on Google look disturbing.
