    I gotta give credit to Brian Last, he keeps Corny on the rails, is also no slouch in wrestling and related business knowledge. When he and Jim are on a good flow, it’s a great podcasting partnership.

    • @encyclopediaespx1128
      @encyclopediaespx1128 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Brian gets a lot of unnecessary hate for being too much of what some consider a kiss-up, but name one other cohost who can go toe to toe for wrestling knowledge & trivia with Jim. Hell there’s plenty of times Jim defers to Brian on anything he’s foggy about.

    • @johansmallberries9874
      @johansmallberries9874 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@encyclopediaespx1128 see I don’t think he’s too big a kiss ass, firstly I think they genuinely agree on most things. That’s why they get along so well. Secondly I think he’s just keeping the show moving when he throws out a tacit agreement on a long Jim rant.

      @encyclopediaespx1128 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@johansmallberries9874 completely agree, I love Brian. Never could listen to the shows back when it was Alice, and it’s a big reason why a lot of pods lose me, the cohosts just don’t feel like they’re able to keep up.

      @@encyclopediaespx1128 if anything, I hear Jim concede the point to Brian more often than not, because he respects his opinion more than he does most other smarks. In my ears, Jim Cornette has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the wrestling business. Say what you will about his other views but when he speaks wrestling, he speaks truth and has the evidence to back it up. Dutch has that knowledge as well and he's been in the ring long enough to be considered a pinnacle of what shaped the business in its heyday. Thus, making both shows my favorites during a long day in the trenches.

I think I enjoy his podcast because he has such a good gift of the gab and the way he describes stuff literally paints a picture. He's also funny and weird. I love how he rips apart modern wrestling and AEW/Tony Khan. Cornette's politics are a little much, not because I disagree with him, just because I'm not really listening to him to hear about that shit. The thing I like most about Cornette is he has the inside knowledge and memory to set the record straight on a lot of stuff, including things like Hogan's many lies, or a lot of the history of the territories and whatnot (all stuff that was before my time, so it's really interesting to hear about how all of that stuff worked).

    Cornette is the best, I do think he’s a little too set in the past being so much better sometimes and he doesn’t really understand some of the way modern media works and why TV ratings have become lower, in that the real reason is more options. But that man knows his wrestling.

    Jim Cornette is probably the absolute best old school wrestling podcast for those that lived though the eras. Personal views aside, Mr. Cornette is the gold standard. The dude can literally listen to a card and nail where and when it was! I can barely remember what I had to eat yesterday!

    1. Cornette (not a close 2nd)
    2-3. This channel and I like hearing what Konnan has to say on k100
    Conrad shows are all the same, and I have no intention of refinancing my mortgage. I think Bischoff is pretty misunderstood and like hearing his perspective
    Least liked: Kevin Nash’s show. Dull and the man still turns every story into putting himself over

      @@Svankmajer For years he vementedly denied that the blindfolds at Wrestlemania 7 were gimmicked, even though you could see it the second the referee held them in his hands. He even was called out by his co-hosts over the years and still insists that they were real.
      Also his claim that he never told a injured (concussion and other problems) Daffney to wrestle or never be booked again and that he never sent her e-mails saying TNA isn't going to cover her medical expenses. The E-Mails as well as recorded messages of Prichard threatening her to work or else were then revealed by her lawyer during the lawsuit.
      Also when he went mad over an old report of Dave Meltzer saying that Scott Putski was first appearing as a Ultimate Warrior rip-off on the WWF House Shows. Prichard vehemently denied this, then the pictures surfaced of Putski looking like a Warrior rip-off (unsurprising, since that was pretty much his gimmick in GWF before as well) at his first WWF matches appeared.
      Oh and also still going around claiming that Wrestlemania 7 was moved to the small arena because the bomb threats were real, when in reality everybody knows it was due to the fact that by February 1991 only 13,500 tickets were sold. He still denied the low ticket sales to this day.
      And lastly, in one episode he said that neither he or Vince ever deliberately buried a wrestler. Yet in the episode about Vader, Prichard laughingly admitted that he and Vince deliberately buried Vader and ribbed him all the time.
      The same hipocrisy shined through when he said that he had a hand in firing Sherri Martel because "You can't have an employee that smokes weed", all the while on a different episode of his podcast he brags about getting blaseted on weed and smoking with Jim Ross and "partying all the time"
