Just made my first First Friday…I pray for the grace to continue through nine and beyond.
Today is my first one. I also pray to finish it.
Do not wait to do this devotion! I was tempted to put it off, as I had many “good” reasons why I needed to wait a few months. I had just given birth to my fourth child, Friday Mass was early in the morning at our parish and over a 30 min drive, plus, at the start, it was winter and below freezing some mornings…not easy with young children. But!….After reading the promise, “ I will give then all the graces necessary for their state in life.” I knew I had to do the 9 First Fridays devotion ASAP, and no matter what. It was tough but my family persevered, and I am so happy and consoled to know we now have Our Lords extra help from the promises given to us for completing the first Fridays devotion ❤
Years ago, for 18 months in a row i went to confession on friday before mass, did the 1st friday and the next day i did the first saturday. 2x first fridays and 3x first saturdays. I took it so seriously, it was my n.1 priority in life 😊

I’d you’re reading this, you need to do it! I just finished my ninth first Friday! Finished my fifth first Saturday in April. I blizzard hit the night before and had to dig myself out like 18 inches, but by the grace of God I made it.

So comforting! Jesus truly has kept each promise whenever the circumstance arises. I love this devotion
It saddens me that this is not preached to us from every pulpit. I'm a cradle Catholic and after 8 years of Catholic grade school and 48 years of age I never knew about this. In grade school 1st Friday was a dress up day when we didn't have to wear our uniform. How very sad that after almost 50 years I have just learned of this, through you tube videos no less.

I've done it for years. However 2022 and 2023 I failed. If you cannot make it to Mass but watch Mass on u tube spiritual Communion, count?
I would think so, but ask a traditional priest to be sure. ❤
What if you miss a First Friday does one need to start over? Im always starting over 😢
Is it the first friday of the year ? So january first friday ?

Any month is fine. But I don't know if you have to start over if you miss a month.
The Nine First Friday have to be nine consecutive Fridays.
If you missed one, you have to start all over again.
These are the requirements of the NINE FIRST FRIDAYS
1. You have to be in the state of grace.
2. The Communions must be nine. The Communions must be made on the first fridays of the month.
3. For nine consecutive months without interruption.
4. The First Fridays must be made with this intention: to honor the Sacred Heart and to make reparation to Jesus for all the ingratitude and outrages He received from so many sinners.
