cant wait for daemon to come back to find out that his ex lover is now the current lover of his niece who is his current lover, the mother of his children as well as his queen.
It just feels like the blacks keep having the exact same f-king conversation over and over again every episode of this season. It's not that I want more mindless action, but there is no mystery, no intrigue, no scheming.
This, the daemon scenes and the focus on alicent losing her influence are dragging down the show. I get it, but it's repetitive and not as interesting as the other stuff that should be happening but doesn't gets screentime.
It's a fact. - Daemon has dreams and visions going nowhere, while suspecting anyone except the witch in front of him - Rhaenyra is complaining every episode that she wants to fight and that men don't respect her, even though she's the queen. - and the rest of the blacks is just casually hanging around Pretty sure that's the case for at least 3 episodes by now.
the problem with HOTD is we dont get enough perspectives. GoT had intrigue because we followed 5+ different major factions all scheming for power. Here we get the black council, the green council, thats it.
myseria: i was mentally and physically abused by my father when i was young rhanerya: lets make out This scene is up there with rhenys breaking through the floor and killing a bunch of small folk just to give her enemy a death stare
It’s tension breaking body language and actions from broken human to broken human. The kiss interrupted tension from that moment. It happens when you touch grass guys. Go experience life. 😪
'Men don't respect us and men treat us bad. Let's have lesbian sex and unite in our hate and disgust for men' That was the whole purpose of this scene. Please remove this 'The Acolyte' writer from the show asap!!

Seasmoke is SO PETTY for pretending it was all good, knowing he wasn’t gonna let Darklyn claim him, but waited for him to get close enough just so he could burn him and only two episodes left, and Daemon is still out there tripping balls, seeing dead relatives or killing live ones.
I interpreted this scene differently.. Seasmoke did yield. For quite a while. But the dude hesitated so much. Too much. The fear was palpable. Like there was an invisible timer and he ran out of time to prove his confidence. So Seasmoke thought "nah, he isn't worthy" Seasmoke could have burnt him from the distancing he was at, didn't have to wait for him to come closer...
It came across more that Seasmoke was willing to let Darklin ride him, but he took it way too slow and just got more and more scared, so Seasmoke was like "I willing to give this a shot, but you ain't it dude".
@@-Gax- that make sense but also if so then why Seasmoke go to the other dude, my only guess is Seasmoke like rider he act fast so you probably it right like get on fast or get burn
If you had paid attention he was accepting him till he celebrated early, the dragon saw that as a sign of weakness and felt like he was just a prize I'd be mad too
I wouldn't say the episodes have been boring, but they are dragging their feet. What has Rhaenyra done this season? Bitch about her council (when they have been correct about everything), complain about not being allowed on the front lines (YOU'RE THE QUEEN), and the gets glazed every second by Mysaria about how amazing she is. SIX EPISODES and this is all we get? The show is at its best when Rhaenyra is not on screen.
Yeah, this is where I jump off the bandwagon. The pacing is so slow, the rhaenyra scenes are repetitive and kinda dumb. This would be OK in a 24episode format, but at this pace season 2 will end with barely any narrative progress. Also not a fan of a lot of the changes to the book, specially alicent and rhaenyra. Im at a 5/10 rn
It makes no sense. Rhaenyra just talked about how she belongs with Daemon, and the other woman just talked about how her dad forced a baby into her. How did that get either of them excited?
Honestly doesn’t really bother me. A little random but it’s whatever. Clearly with the music they used they are saying this isn’t the best thing, so obviously mysaria is just trying to get closer and closer to her to point the agenda how she likes.
The kiss at the end wasn't scripted. It was a decision made by the actresses. Obviously the director could have said no but I guess they thought like Joe said. Add some chicks making out.
the actress is a lesbian and keeps using her power to force scenes where she makes out with other hot actresses. they said its headcanon she wants to F alicent.
The Rhaenyra scene at the end was so badly written that it made me angry. It felt so unnatural and forced. Rhaenyra was just talking about how her and Daemon are two parts of a whole, and the other woman just got done talking about how her dad forced a baby in her. How does that get anyones engine running?
I think It was the vulnerability they expressed towards each other n I can but they’ve been inching closer n closer ever since Mysaria joined the Black council… It was a bit outta nowhere but I’m interested to see this triangle
@Shooopdawooooop Imagine you're married, and your spouse is talking about how they belong with you. Would you find it believable that your spouse would then immediately cheat on you.
Anyone else notice they only played a few notes of the Rains of Castamere when they showed the Lannisters? Found it neat because the Rains hasn't happened yet.
@@Fishreads The Rains of Castamere happens a few decades before Season 1 of Game of Thrones. The thing I'm talking about is at the start of the episode
@@FishreadsSome decades before Game of Thrones, specifically during Tywin’s younger years. Before Tywin became Lord of Casterly Rock, the Lannisters were seen as a joke & this was mainly due to the incompetent leadership of Tywin’s father Tytos. Tytos was seen as weak & many of the lords under him took advantage of that, & Tywin had had enough. But there were 2 houses that caused Tywin to act & made him show the lords under him that the Lannisters weren’t weak: House Reyne & House Tarbeck. Both houses staged a rebellion against the Lannisters, & Tywin ended the rebellion as quickly as it began. He had both houses’ castles burned to the ground, & when they fled into the underground tunnels of House Reyne’s castle Castamere, Tywin had almost all the entrances to the tunnels buried under rubble & had his men dam a stream & divert it to the only open entrance. Tywin essentially drowned them all, ending Houses Reyne & Tarbeck & showing his lesser lords that the Lannister lions still had teeth. That’s how “The Rains of Castamere” got its name.

I feel like all these questions have been answered/are being answered, especially this season with the “slow” parts, especially with rhanerya and Aegon. Everyone is ignoring the slow scenes but all the answers and future development are right there.
At this point I'm not sure who would be a better ruler for the Iron throne. If we lay out the accolades and accomplishments so far Aemond is starting to take the lead..
What’s the most infuriating about Daemon is he seems utterly confused as to why he is hallucinating… I’m just like dude… an ugly, creepy witch made you drink a blood potion… you actually saw her throw the gore into the cup before you drank it…
I think this episode coming right after another slow episode made it even worse. I thought for sure we were gonna see Rhaenyra try to find riders for Vermithor and Silverwint
If i can only choose between the two id rather them go slow and overly flesh things out than neck break speed of the later seasons of thrones that ultimately killed it. The biggest problem with the show is how passive Rhaenyra is, they have stripped her of every bad bone in her body so they can do another "Dany the savior" character, so now she's not allowed to do anything interesting at all. GRRM has always said, the most interesting battles are the ones we fight within and there is no battle within for Rhaenyra like there is for other characters, she's jsut good, there wasn't much meat to the Dance as there was the mainline series to begin with and we are all feeling that, stripping Rhaenyra of what little she had from the book is biting them back hard.
Yeah but what does she do in the book, not much apart from finding dragon riders at this point, If they end the season where i think they will, she will do something big in the last episode and it will be better with the fact she wanted to act all season and everyone is stopping her. She will have her "Fuck you, I'm doing it moment". There isn't much action in this part of the story in the book and they can't add much more since they have to follow what is known to history. What they can work around is small details, character development, and events that were misrecorded. Rhaenyra can't go, take her dragon and attack a castle by herself cause we know in the history book of Westeros that she didn't at that point, she was stuck in Dragon stone... Daemon can't go do stuff out of Harrenhal cause in the book (history) we know he was at Harrenhal gathering the riverlord and getting to know Alys... They have to follow the "Action from the book" and work more stories around those. I love this show cause it's actually following the book and expanding on stuff, adding a few bits. Like the part where she goes to see Alicent in the Sept... it's not in the book but it's ok cause it wouldn't have been recorded by the writers back then, it was a secret mission. Rhaenyra will be passive with the entire show mostly based on the book, she doesn't do much in the book in there of action, fighting, and such... cause she's a woman in a man's world. She's the queen so people don't want her to take risks, she would be a man and people would be more accepting of her going to battle. It's one of the main themes of the story. The dance is about a 100 pages in the book, it's not a long war, nothing happened, about 4 or 5 major fight (one being a ship battle and another a 1 on 1 dragon battle). And there is no hero, no main character, The show portrait Rhaenyra as the good one right now... it will change with time and the ending will be depressing. It's not a fun, story, there is no winner in this war. Like Ramsy once said: If you think this will have an good ending, you haven't been listening lol. Rhaenyra's battle is being a queen in itself, there was none before and non after until Daenerys.
The kiss felt completely out of place and out of character for Rhaenyra. Had they set it up more I would be more ok with it. But just like the Leia in space scene in The Last Jedi it took me right out of the show. The liberties the show writers are taking in this season are missing the mark. I liked the changes to the Velaryons. I like the Laenor changes. But Rhaenyra going to kings landing was eehhh on the line and the kiss was a miss for me.
Also commoners during the Medieval period didn’t eat meat that often their diet mostly consisted of bread (wheat, barley) and local vegetables and fruits. Meats like beef, poultry and pork were only eaten for special occasions like local festivals or weddings. Only Nobles got to eat meat more often. Kings often banned commoners from hunting big game in forests like Deers and Boars. The only animals commoners were allowed to hunt were small animals like rabbits, squirrels, birds etc.
It doesn't have to be romantic. We'll see what happens next episode. But it's certainly been a real slow season and people are blaming it on a couple things, some of them less justified than usual.
It ties back to some scenes in season 1 where Rhae and Ali seemed to have had a romantic underlying tone to their relationship. They shoulda played more into this dynamic, because yes it did come out of nowhere, but if they did parallels to this dynamic and the childhood dynamic, it would have been more apparent. She's also lonely, but that also isn't really conveyed since Daemon left, just "I want to continue our conversation" not "I miss my husband"
Sources could be wrong but apparently it was improvised by the actors on the spot. The actress who plays Rhenyra thought it 'felt right'. Probably why it comes across abrupt because...it was
@@Mo1stMonkey21 so don't show him then? 4 straight episodes of him tripping balls at Harrenhall is too much and dragging down each episode. Remember that Bran was absent for an entire season. I would prefer the show just ignore him if they cant figure out how to do anything interesting with him.
Daemon's dreams are getting to me. I know it all might mean something and they may be going somewhere with it but enough already! He's literally been in harrenhal dreaming this whole series
The non binary actress did the kiss it wasn’t scripted I think the directors just let it happen and didn’t say anything because they don’t want to be called homophobic or some shit
@@omidtabrizi-e2z I was thinking the same thing, but to be fair to the show producers, she has one of those insane fan bases now that praise her and call her brave on social media for doing simple things like shopping at a grocery store.

@@raymondsims7042 I take this back after thinking about it to an extent. Like the show is moving way to slow and not developing characters good enough to warrant moving slow especially with how many battles and conflicts need to be setup
@@raymondsims7042 I feel like we’ve already gotten everything out of daemons story we can a few episodes ago. As well as I don’t think Rhaenrya has done anything this season. Because there are to many battles/events that need to be setup for us to be wasting our time rehashing stories
TBF, if the season was 10 episodes it'd be even worse, Daemon would be hallucinating for 5 episodes and Rhaenyra would be taking a strap-on by the time they got to something interesting.
Im getting bored im tired of Rhaenyra not doing anything and Daemon at that haunted castle. The show is showing signs of bad writing: the unmaned boats sailing themselves to bring food, Seasmoke finding a rider and Rhaenyra and the White Worm kissing right after the story of how she was (R) by her dad, he got her pregnant and then tried to kill her and they started kissing (WTF). Why even mention that story now 😑😕🤷♂️
King’s Landing running out of food mainly because of a naval blockade makes no sense since the Capital has a land route to the Reach the most fertile region in all Westeros. Without the Blacks coordinating a siege of the capital on land along with the naval blockade there is no reason for the food shortage.
It makes perfect sense. The majority of food comes from ships, there is already a lot of fighting happening in the reach, which leads to unstable supply lines, and the hoarding of food is going on, by the rich in kings landing (which was touched on by Hugh and his wife in one of the “slower” scenes that people are crying about) and by the major regions, who are preparing for war and need to feed their large moving armies. This is exactly what happened in pre modern wars as well
@@alejandrobetancourt8123 the majority of the food around Kings Landing comes from the Crownlands which Cole has already subjugated. Without cutting off the Capital from its land routes with a siege and naval blockade it makes no sense they can just get their food from the Crownlands, the Reach and the Stormlands. Since currently the only conflict in the Reach is Oldtown’s vassal House Beesbury fighting them for killing their former Lord. That alone shouldn’t cut supplies going to Kings Landing since the Reach produces more food than they can eat. Also there is no conflict in the Stormlands since House Baratheon is fully on board with the Greens. If the writers were smart they would have come up with scenarios like Bandits or Black loyalists in the Crownlands attacking and stealing their supply chain lines to the city using Guerilla tactics but unfortunately all they got is a blockade and people hoarding that’s it.
I wish they’d brought back Paddy Considine for a more impactful moment. Even dragons literally roasting a guy didn’t making it more exciting. 6/10 for me.
@@artimuos903 I also thought about this. So they remove a very important black character and randomly change the Velaryons (who are supposed to look exactly like the targaryens, that's the whole point of those two families intermarrying) into black characters with white hair.
They’re doing the exact same thing Netflix did to the Witcher show difference here is that HOTD is only a book and Witcher had a game and Idiots can’t read so they don’t even realize it.
Tbh I think the "kiss" scene was a power move by Mysaria to control Rheanyra. I think she's just giving her the human connection she craves in order to manipulate her into do what she wants
Season 1 had only one small dragon fight scene, and it was as good as Game of Thrones. People are not complaining to see dragon fights, they want good stories, tensions between characters, love, and betrayal . The material has all these things, and the writers did a fantastic job in season 1. But season 2 is just not even close to that level of writing.
Season 1 wasn’t even that good , it had a couple good moments but it had long stretches of boring dialogue, abrupt time jumps and uninteresting characters
So many of these shows have such short seasons… and if nothing happens then you have to wait another couple years. Tv is just dragging now a days. Make shit release faster
I’m currently re-watching GOT with someone who’s never seen it before, the differences are huge in terms of pacing, dialogue, action & characters, might as well be a different lore altogether.
Well they have an entire book for each season with full dialogue. The dance of dragons chapter, of just fighting and battles, not even before or after the war, is about 20 pages, and reads like you’re reading a history book.
@@alejandrobetancourt8123yeah that’s why the writers should have had talent to create something great and not waste the source material like they have this season

@@TheHuntsman-qe9iz that doesn't make sense. Westeros has agriculture and cattle. their access to the land isn't impeded, blacks don't even have an army on the mainland. Not to mention their allies aren't starving and could send them food. Are you saying they import all of their food and it's all shipped via sea from somewhere not in westeros? What?
@DRV110 Well, the Reach is the bread basket of Westeros, but with fighting going on there, I'm guessing that supplies are not consistent. Most of the westerlands resources probably went to the army marching to the river lands. Dorne wouldn't care. So that basically leaves the storm lands and the crown lands to support kings landing. The storm lands have been dragging their asses on assembling their army, and one can guess they've probably been slow to send food as well. The crown lands obviously have farms and everything, but the region is also at war. Who knows how much supplies went to Cole's march to Rooks Rest? All of this adds up to a supply chain that's not consistently providing food to the people. Supplies probably are coming by land, but not in a capacity that the city can get by on. We can even see in the show that the people aren't totally starving YET, but they will be soon.
@@TheHuntsman-qe9izthis is the best answer I've seen thanks 🙏. Still don't think it makes sense + characters are all blaming the sea blockade. Anyway, thank you.

@@vidmasterK1except that it isn't even a character study. The problem with the show is the pacing. We are getting hour-long episodes that are 80% devoid of substance. And that is intentional by the show runners. They want to stretch it out and collect their dollar.

It's the same writer (Eileen Shim) from the acolyte episode 3 ("THE POWER OF MANY!!!!) Now the whole DEI stuff in this episode and the forced kissing scene makes so much more sense 😂
Anyone who says DEI is totally propagandized by the culture war, and will 100% jump on the next new fear monger term meant to whip them up into a frenzy over a non issue, instead of something real.
Guy, the Dance of the Dragon in the book is about 200 pages and this is considering all the stuff from season one that they run through actually. I don't know if they gonna show the aftermath but it's about 250 page on a 700-page book. There is stuff happening but not that much, They don't have to run through the action if they want to do 4 seasons. Remember Season 1 of Got was 10 episodes for about 700 pages. Starting from the first episode of season 2 (the start of the dance) is page 422 and the ending of the "War" is 571. There is far from as much content in terms of action in that war that lasted only 2 years and had about 4 major fights... I actually love that they add and go deeper into character development and storytelling and not run through the war. I want story and characters first and one great action piece by season is already great, especially if they do quality action like Rookrest instead of dumb action like the long night battle in Season 8. I understand you want stuff to move faster but it shouldn't move faster, stuff doesn't move fast in the book even if it's only about 100 pages. I do agree that we need a 10 episode season at least so that the slow stuff doesn't feel like it's eating time from the season.
This series of the GofT saga is slowly losing me. The characters in this series are just resonating with me and the story telling is slow. Seems like streaming studios are producing multiple season series that string along the audience for the sake of revenue generating. The lesbian scene was not set-up and totally inconsequential.
I simply give zero fks about 95% of the characters. That’s one thing that has me not caring so much about the series. They just don’t seem real to me like I felt in GOT.
Daemon covets Rhaenyra's power and the love his brother/kingdom had for her (As a girl, he still sees her that way) Rhaenyra covets Daemon being a reckless fuck boi who can do what he wants. Rhaenyra took Myseria's moment of vulnerability and did what Daemon would do. Something reckless and self serving. Daemon is out there at the ghost mansion making amends for being a reckless fuck boi while learning about restraint, sacrifice and the wise use of power.
They're not focusing enough on the interesting characters (most people on team Green). Team Black is just so boring and Rhaenyra herself is starting to get annoying. She's constantly whining about not being able to go out to battle on her dragon but there is so much more to being a Queen than physically fighting in battles. And the slapping the old man who politely criticized her for getting an innocent man killed was just messed up.
People were mad the first season was too quick not enough motivation and development People are mad this season because they are going to slow and showing too much character motivation and development. It's like I'm taking crazy pills

Joe it doesn’t have to be non stop dragon battles every episode. Sometimes you have to set it up. They’ve already said nettles won’t be in it. It setting it up for Rhaena (younger Targaryen). Sometimes it’s nice for the pace to be even, you don’t need wow wow wow episodes every single week Wind your necks in you lot.
Yeah it’s even worse because they all read the book and know what’s coming, and they think they can show every battle/ dragon battle back to back to back. Everyone completely memory holed season 8 and forgot about why it was awful.
This narrative is getting old, we don’t need dragons fighting every episode. The writing and pacing is poor. Lack of character arcs and the same plot points. Maybe show some aegon Halaena scenes, jace in winter fell, anything but the queen moping around kissing people. The larys scene was the best thing about this episode. We waited 2 years for 8 episodes every episode should hit on all cylinders not dragging.
@@alejandrobetancourt8123 you need episodes where it’s dialogue. I’ll admit harrenhal is getting a bit tiresome. But I think there will be some pay off to this. I get annoyed when the guys here think it’s just action non stop and no build up, no dialogue.
L take on the slow pacing. That’s exactly what went wrong the last 2-3 seasons of GOT. All action , no build up , and it ended up ruining many of the characters . Weakest episode this season is when raneyra teleports to talk to Allicent but otherwise very solid . Not sure if the characters are better than got but definitely better than seasons 5-8 Loved aegon scene with larys. Second favorite was allicent escaping the mob and how it differed from Joffrey reaction in GOT , also her asking about her son in Hightower building him up as a “good” son . Agree though the daemon witch stuff is getting old . Feel like I’m watching dragon ball z where Gohan spends 10 episodes training on another planet . Raenyra also has to stop being useless. Also the Les scene at the end was completely random lol
I disagree with you, the writing of this show does not hold a candle to game of thrones s1-s4 and more akin to s5-s7, you should rewatch got because there is something missing here. I agree with you that the Larys scene was amazing and does remind me of early got seasons (Tyrion and Jon convo about basterds), but the rest except the greens is very boring. The seasons is almost over, can you give me a memorable scene or dialogue from s2 execept rook rests? You can make a slow pace show but having a good dialogue is key, Mad Men does this very well. House of dragon doesnt have George R.R. Martin dialogue which really hurts it.
@@sanddasa1house of the dragon dialogue is pretty good as well not as good as mad men or peak game of thrones of course but still very solid. Honestly I have no issue with this season at all I’m not sure what the ruckus is about.
I don't know... These episodes are not "bad" in my opinion, but I do think there is too much filler considering there are only 8 episodes in this whole season. But I think the filler is also the reason WHY there are only 8 episodes. They are barely managing to write content for 8 episodes, they probably couldn't do 10. I would much rather wait even 3 years for solid "GoT s1-s4" level 10 episodes than wait for 1/2 years only for something like this.
To me it’s not the lack of action. Game of thrones never was a heavy action show in the beginning. It’s the fact that the characters are not really explored and fleshed out. And ultimately they just haven’t been interesting. Juxtaposed to season 1 where I thought the political intrigue and drama was very engaging. I just find this season lacking in that department.
Let me start out saying I didn't read the books. But from a show perspective I honestly believe Rhaena getting Sheepstealer makes way more sense. Especially if this later involves Daemon in some way, seeing as it's his daughter instead of some random girl.
To be fair it would be very funny and quite a twist after all her yearning for a dragon and one failed attempt she gets hosed with flames when she tries.
I think people forget how many slow/filler episodes were in GoT. This episode had a lot of good character development and plot set up. Not every episode can be Rook's Rest.
I think a lot of people are doing some revisionism. The bulk of fans came on after season 4, if that same bulk was watching season 2 of got live, they would be mad and say it was boring/nothing happened, when in reality it’s leaving the seeds for the future. Too much brain rot now, need dragons
Poor Ser Darklyn, but period accurate. Back in the medieval days they didn't know as we do now: Once you go black you never come back. Don't blame the dragon for what was unavoidable.
@@raymondsims7042 I completely agree. It's just kind of funny. My only note, I wish they had hired really strong actors for all the roles. We can discuss the in's and out's. But same page.
I feel like seasmoke was literally scanning the coastline for his last rider, which is why we see so many scenes of seasmoke flying by the ships. Seeing this guy was like, man he looks close enough, LETS FLY
I would've said before this episode it's way better. It was a better character study and no silliness. Season 1 was amazing. I'm not sure at this point.
I personally don’t find the show too slow or boring at all, besides Damon losing his marbles all season instead of assembling the rivermen, can anyone say that the battle in ep 4 would have been as impactful without the 4 episodes of build up? Maybe its just me but I like a slower burn with good character work and dialogue and building up stakes for a more satisfying climax
I quite like character studies and characterisation. But it does need some action. The story inched forward this episode. Hopefully it will make the end more sweet. Personally I just think the series is getting a bit more shallow and a bit cheesy. There is little intrigue at the moment but i'll keep watching till the end.
Team Black do fuck all every episode. It's not like we need action to happen, but we need to feel like the plot is moving forward. They are literally having the same conversations every episode.
They’ve been telling us “Rhaenyra is bored and Daemon is conflicted” every fucking episode.
Listen I do like the show but if I see one more episode with Daemon halucinating at Harenhall I will start going batshit crazy myself also.

- Daemon has dreams and visions going nowhere, while suspecting anyone except the witch in front of him
- Rhaenyra is complaining every episode that she wants to fight and that men don't respect her, even though she's the queen.
- and the rest of the blacks is just casually hanging around
Pretty sure that's the case for at least 3 episodes by now.
Isnt there scheming? Didnt they give the people of Kings Landing a lot of food to Riot against Team green?
the problem with HOTD is we dont get enough perspectives. GoT had intrigue because we followed 5+ different major factions all scheming for power. Here we get the black council, the green council, thats it.
Maybe pay a little more attention.

Seasmoke did yield. For quite a while.
But the dude hesitated so much. Too much. The fear was palpable.
Like there was an invisible timer and he ran out of time to prove his confidence.
So Seasmoke thought "nah, he isn't worthy"
Seasmoke could have burnt him from the distancing he was at, didn't have to wait for him to come closer...
It came across more that Seasmoke was willing to let Darklin ride him, but he took it way too slow and just got more and more scared, so Seasmoke was like "I willing to give this a shot, but you ain't it dude".

100% this
The kissing scene was so forced and out of place.
It makes no sense. Rhaenyra just talked about how she belongs with Daemon, and the other woman just talked about how her dad forced a baby into her. How did that get either of them excited?
@justinschnoor9459 They are pandering to Gay Twitter.
It was unscripted. The actors improvised. Which makes the scene even more pointless.
Honestly doesn’t really bother me. A little random but it’s whatever. Clearly with the music they used they are saying this isn’t the best thing, so obviously mysaria is just trying to get closer and closer to her to point the agenda how she likes.
It was incredibly random. Hot, but random.
The kiss at the end wasn't scripted. It was a decision made by the actresses. Obviously the director could have said no but I guess they thought like Joe said. Add some chicks making out.
That’s what makes it even more stupid it’s unscripted so now we know that the writers have no intention of doing anything

@@Fishreads The Rains of Castamere happens a few decades before Season 1 of Game of Thrones.
The thing I'm talking about is at the start of the episode
You expect too much from the writers.

You cant go slow and overly flesh things out near the end though because you will infact, have to rush that very end.
Apparently the actors improvized the kiss and it was kept in.

Normally I’m 50/50 with Alex’s takes, but I agree 100% with him on this one. This season has been underwhelming aside from the battle of Rook’s Rest.
I was pretty much on the verge of sleeping the entire episode sadly.
I think they are doing fine, I read the book, and every scene is important, and is laying seeds for future conflict. I’d rather it be snails pace than season 8 all over again.
@@alejandrobetancourt8123 I get all that but it just doesn’t “feel” like GOT & maybe that’s what I was expecting, it feels like entirely different show with familiar names & places.
Every Mysaria scene is super boring.

Actually ruining the show for me. I was so pissed when I saw she was back in this season
I’ve been waiting for this review! This episode was a 4/10 for me. The worst one they have done yet 15 minutes of it was entertaining and the rest I could completely live without.
4/10 really? Idk what you guys are watching 😂😂I really am enjoying every episode I tbink each one is pretty excellent. Maybe I’m just use to watching slower pace shows so I appreciate this season more. Even though I still don’t believe its as slow as a lot of people are saying.
@@raymondsims7042team green is a slower pace but team black is at a stand still and badly undeveloped imo. Can you even name anyone other than Corlys on team blacks council the side characters seem to be getting no screen time while we see rhaeynra going through the same thing for 6 episodes in a row. At least we with the team green council I know who the members are and what they do.
nah last week was the worst episode of the entire series. Literally, NOTHING happened!
@@brandonharris9769 I think this is a fair critique all I say is wait until the finale of season 2. If they do what I think they will I believe you’ll be presently surprised
@@raymondsims7042 I’m certain the next 2 episodes will be better than the last 2 because they simply have to move the plot and characters along. It doesn’t change the fact that this season has been worse than season 1 imo.
Did anyone else think QR slapping that guy was random af?
They have done the black navy dudes in House of Dragon so poorly. They’ve been given nothing to do all series and now they are gonna happenstance into being the new riders for team black.
Why is the blockade stopping all food? They can access the rest of westeros via land?
I know… what’s funny is they even say they want meat not fish… when the sea is blockaded but the giant forest is right there… kay
You can't really feed an entire city on hunted deer and other animals. They'd clear the entire forest in a couple of weeks.
I don’t know how they were so quick to give up on sending in more dragon seeds after ONE try when she even says that if you are a full Targaryen you have to be prepared to die to claim your dragon. So the first one being a failure could happen to anyone and who says the next one won’t succeed?
Joe really stepped up his name game this week by remembering who is who between Baela and Rhaena.
Only character moments I actually enjoyed were Aegon and Larys, otherwise it was pretty plodding. Hopefully it picks up soon.
How did they play The Rains of Castamere song for the Lannisters and it hasn't Happened yet 🤷♂️🤣
I think Nettles was merged with Rhaena Targaryen. In terms of the book continuity. The rumor was that Nettles was Daemons lover, but others speculate that she is actually his bastard daughter.
I love not being a book reader when it comes to this show. The pace means nothing to me because i have no clue what's coming next.
Another episode that’s better than all of the acolyte
I still enjoy watching the show, but it all feels so repetitive now. So many council meetings and arguing about the same ole ish. I don't need the characters to be battling every two seconds, but I need more intrigue and suspense.
Alex always has the best takes. This show has almost been boring every Sunday. They’re almost giving you a reason to not to want to tune in
Agree
Then don't tune in
It's clearly a character study more than an action war drama. I mean, they had to, because the original book is just written like a gossip journal and tabloid.
@@vidmasterK1except that it isn't even a character study.
The problem with the show is the pacing. We are getting hour-long episodes that are 80% devoid of substance. And that is intentional by the show runners. They want to stretch it out and collect their dollar.
@@be8420it’s not devoid of substance and it is character building. I don’t understand you guys problem I’m loving this season
@@raymondsims7042 Honestly mate, I'm glad you are loving this season. I also really enjoy the Westeros world. That's why it's obnoxious that you all don't understand our gripes with the show. Im getting rather bored with the show and im not feeling excited to watch week after week
Wow, a lot of book spoilers here. Beware!
Season2 so far is meh. Last two episodes need to blow it out of the water to save the season.
HBO padding their seasons? if only they did that the first time...
Daemon is out there at the ghost mansion making amends for being a reckless fuck boi while learning about restraint, sacrifice and the wise use of power.
nicely put
This show has a lot of bastards.
I think it’s pretty sick tbh
They're not focusing enough on the interesting characters (most people on team Green). Team Black is just so boring and Rhaenyra herself is starting to get annoying. She's constantly whining about not being able to go out to battle on her dragon but there is so much more to being a Queen than physically fighting in battles. And the slapping the old man who politely criticized her for getting an innocent man killed was just messed up.
Huge things happened at the end
Team Black sending food to Kings Landing was a brilliant strategy
I thought it was a very good episode
People were mad the first season was too quick not enough motivation and development

Joe it doesn’t have to be non stop dragon battles every episode. Sometimes you have to set it up.
They’ve already said nettles won’t be in it. It setting it up for Rhaena (younger Targaryen).
Sometimes it’s nice for the pace to be even, you don’t need wow wow wow episodes every single week
Wind your necks in you lot.
Daemon in Harrenhall has gone on long enough. Hopefully that plot line will go somewhere next episode.
L take on the slow pacing. That’s exactly what went wrong the last 2-3 seasons of GOT. All action , no build up , and it ended up ruining many of the characters . Weakest episode this season is when raneyra teleports to talk to Allicent but otherwise very solid . Not sure if the characters are better than got but definitely better than seasons 5-8
Loved aegon scene with larys.
In summary GOT 1-4 > hotd 1-2 > GOT 5-7 > GOT 8 🤮
Still very good
I disagree with you, the writing of this show does not hold a candle to game of thrones s1-s4 and more akin to s5-s7, you should rewatch got because there is something missing here.

At what point can we just say it’s not good?
if next weeks is another dud we can officially say this season was bad
@@tomglantz9642there hasn’t been a “dud” this season imo I’m loving it
I don't know...
All the fans of game of thrones who started watching after season 5 want constant action season 8 speed.
@@alejandrobetancourt8123Yeah I think Joe and the Boys might be doing some revisionist history about early Game of Thrones in their head
I think a lot of people are doing some revisionism. The bulk of fans came on after season 4, if that same bulk was watching season 2 of got live, they would be mad and say it was boring/nothing happened, when in reality it’s leaving the seeds for the future. Too much brain rot now, need dragons

I would've said before this episode it's way better. It was a better character study and no silliness. Season 1 was amazing. I'm not sure at this point.
They are having the call out for riders next week, they basically showed that in the preview
