High schoolers partying with drugs, alcohol, and reckless behavior like gun firing now trying to break into top tech companies-dreaming of roles requiring the math and physics genius cultivated in IITs by relentless hard work-might come across as entitled and envious of those who truly earned their spot through discipline and dedication.
I think here's what's gonna happen, these companies will outsource it to their offshore branches like India and dubai + Asia will become self-reliant more rather than being dependent on western markets (cuz we've the growth in Asia -> all these brands want a strong presence in India (as China already has their set of alternatives), so if Indian govt plays smartly then we can actually end up benefitting from this... I strongly feel it's high time that ASIA becomes united cuz c'mon we've got the demand, population, skilled-labour, manufacturing all sorted in Asia, if Asia becomes united then we'll witness a dynamic shift in global power.. India+China+S.Korea+N.Korea+Japan+Singapore+Vietnam+Indonesia+Russia... we've got it all covered guys... we just need to chiil out and focus on ASIAN UNION Just my POV, if you disagree, I would love to hear ur arguments
Honestly this sounds very very logical and not a bad thing at all if you have it in you you’ll get an H1 B it’s as simple as that…having an H1B lottery shouldn’t be a thing to begin with
There should be changes: 1) The definition of speciality occupation should change. H1B visas should be only used in certain industries where there is skill shortage and which demand some niche skills Also, certain professions like doctors, nurses, phisiotherapists should get first access. to H1B.. H1B should not be used in generic software where a huge talent pool is available. 2) There should be minimum eligibility criteria for H1B like at least a bachelors degree with 6 years experience or masters degree with 2 years experience or a PhD. Minimum wage should be fixed between L2 and L3 current prevailing wages and not simply $60k. 3) The number of H1b visas issued each year should correspond to market demand. I don’t mind 200k H1b in a bull market but minimal or no H1Bs during recession. 4) Strict enforcement of H1B rules so that desi consultancies don’t misuse them.

sir, do you think it can be a point based system too? like canada?
H1B should not have 70% indians. There should be equal participation from rest of the world.
