      Yes, these cars respond very well to dry ice cleaning, especially if the cosmoline is undisturbed. Good luck, if you decide to get it done and are in SoCal, we can help you out.

      @@masterrk7 Ah yes, these cars respond very well to the process. I’m sure if there’s no one offering the service now, it will be there soon, seems to be becoming more popular. Take care!

    Beautiful video well done Sr.
    What is the cost for cleaning that exact.. car? Average.?
    Thank you again

      @R20Motorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. This car we did a chassis clean, exhaust restoration and did not remove wheels. Cost was $2,700. If we had removed wheels and done the engine bay, full clean cost would roughly be about $3,500. This is about average for the service. If a car has lots of oil leaks, other hard to remove conditions, or the owner wants to get it as perfect as possible, we would quote $5-7K. Thanks for watching!

    What then do you use to secure the undercarriage? Some kind of wax in spray? Cause you are removing the original anti rust protection if there was any. I'd like to know what should I use on my 944 after I clean the undercarriage.

      Thanks for watching. The coating is only there for protection in shipping across the ocean. Here in SoCal, no coating is needed for a collector car like this as they don’t get driven in rain / salt. That said if a customer wants a coating, we use 3M Cavity Wax. Its a lighter version of cosmoline and goes on clear and dries to a matte finish. You can also reapply cosmoline. In both cases though, its sticky and will attract dirt and the chassis will eventually go back to that brown / black dirty look. Good luck with you 944.

There's a place that's been doing this awhile in PA, Leading Edge Autosport, they do nice work from what I see as well.

    Absolutely Outstanding video! I appreciate it R20(not sure if you want your name broadcast on TH-cam). This is Bill from Dryce Patreon. Excellent work on both the Silver Rose and the camera. I think you captured the process very effectively. I seems the camera doesn't always represent process accurately.

    What pressure do you use?

    • @R20Motorsports
      @R20Motorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Our system goes up to 125PSI, but we spend most of our time between 20 and 60psi. What you can’t see on video is the constant adjustment of pressure, flow rate and particle size. Check out our all your questions answered video for more info. Thanks for watching!
