14살인 1986년 서울아시안게임에 참가한 장재량을 보고.. 팬이 되었는데..벌써 36년의 세월이 흘렀다니..

Loved his style always taking the ball very early robbing the opponent of time., always trying to put the ball in uncomfortable positions for the opponent.

Take nothing away from Guo because he is one of the all-time greats but that match between him and Jiang was fixed by their national coaches. If we want to find out who won more when going h/h, we have to dig into the China National Games. The results of the Chinese National Games are trustworthy. I know Jiang never won the Single Title inside China. Not sure about Guo.

@@benthekeeshond545 Guo never won it either. I guess he only had 1 or 2 shots because of the cultural revolution and his early retirement.
BTW, Guo retired at a young age of 27, and Jiang at 25. That's quite ridiculous.

@@benthekeeshond545 The game between Guo and Jiang was held in WTTG in 1983 a real fight. Even in the subsequent final, Cai Chen Hua losing to Guo was real. Yet, the final between Guo and Cai in WTTG of 1981 was actually fixed by their coaches because they wanted to commend Guo for his effort and 1st runner-up in the past two consecutive WTTG.

@@ronaldchan2000 Come on, they retired from Chinese team so early because he needed to earn his living by playing in Europe(by the way, Chen retired at the similar age and he then played in Japan for about 10 years), you know there was not much salary for anyone in 1980's in China, right? As for the national games, you can't comment a short pips player based on his national games, it's not fair.

Jiang probably got best short-pip forehand in the history, I can't think of anyone more consistent and powerful. Xu Shaofa once said, Jiang achieved the peak of Short-pip style, fast, savage and accurate. His forehand attack on back spin is still the best in my view, not the mordern style loop, but a fast attack on the back spin like 6:42 in the video. His only weakness in my perspective was his serve, I think his successor Liu Guoliang did it better, but LGL need to pay respect to Jiang's forehand.

I thought Chen Longcan was overall better than Jiang, maybe not as powerful but very consistent. I heard that Chen lost nobody in WTTC’89 chinese trails.

Jiang didn't have very good serve, but it didn't bother him that much either. If he had had Ryu Seung Min's backhand, he would still be able to fight the Swedens at the end of his career. I think the same is true for Cheng Long Can.
