Lets say she was 80, then she would have been 66 when he was born. 66 divided by 3 (3 generations) would be 22. So each parent generation was about 22 years old when they had their first child.

Pizza is often on the menu at least once a month in many prisons. Did you really think our incarcerated criminals are treated that poorly. Most eat better (nutritionally balanced meals, etc) than the average American.

I read that a few years prior to this murder, he was struck by a car and suffered a brain injury which negatively affected his behavior personality, and he had been in trouble with the law at least twice before. I believe that the injury at least played a role in his decision to kill his great-grandmother, but only he and God know the truth.

The thing I don't understand is how they thought could get any money out of the grandmother and get away with it. They had to know that she would report the robbery and the identity of one of them. For that reason, they obviously planned to kill her from the get-go.

Imagine having one short life, one brief existence in the great abyss of time, only to fuck it all up at 14 YEARS OLD. Atrocity aside, its truly mind boggling that someone can fuck their life up this tremendously at such a young age before their life has begun. All of the potential girlfriends, careers, fun times with family and friends, travel to new places, or just the little things we take for granted, like the lazy afternoons playing video games after school........all gone, because of one non-sensible moment. Truly humbling. Then again, it truly makes me appreciative for what I have.
As I'm writing this, its early morning. The birds are chirping, the door is unlocked, and I'm free to walk out of it into the world. I'll never take that freedom for granted again.
Only 14? His brain hasn't fully developed yet. In Australia and Europe they use evidence based custodial sentencing and rehabilitation for children. What he did is horrendous. However,, emotionally charged, retributive punishment against kids is not OK either.
