I have a 4 year old who is on the spectrum. He loved watching your videos with me and recently he started playing MM2 on our Switch. To my surprise his high score on easy is 8 courses. He has some problems moving and jumping and some of the more advanced tech (ground pounds, wall jumps, etc) are a little challenging for him, but everytime I hear him yell "COURSE CLEAR" it warms this old mans heart up :-3 Maybe I will have to take a stab at helping him make a level.
Hey dude, it's fictions_mosaic here, thank you for such an awesome wholesome video. I think that it was spectacular that your kids make levels for you to play in mario maker
Seeing 2 girls make their dad these levels is just so charming and wholesome Imagine in the future when Carmen and Willow are older they make a 40 level troll super world for Dave to play? That'd make quite the video series
All of them were, he died in some of the dumbest places but that wasnt your usual a DGR Dave skill issue, it was the brilliant planning of Carmen and Willow
It’s no joke that Dave put thousands of hours into SMM2, and still never realized that Bloopers can’t be stomped on underwater. Also, it’s nice to see the creations his two daughters made.
Anyone expecting masterpiece quality creations from 4-6 year olds probably can’t remember being that young. I was programming at 7-8, even made a few games, but as much as that’s an achievement I can take a little pride in… those games I created were _laughably_ rudimentary, at best 😂 it’s so sweet that your girls have made these levels for you, and maybe these levels will never be hanging in the Louvre but that’s really not what matters if they’re having fun expressing their creativity 😊 and you really seem like a great dad ❤️
I love seeing beginning creations like this, it reminds me of when I started making music when I was 13 and the music was laughably bad (I still find it entertaining lol), but it is a part of our growth, just keep going at it, whether it is music or Mario maker. This is very wholesome and thank you for the memories it gave me too :)
So so sweet to see your girls' levels with some really great ideas in them! I hope they'll want to continue to make more levels down the road and we can see what direction they end up shaping their own styles if they get that far in level creation. Just seeing their smiles, at the end of the day, is the most joyful thing in the world. Hope you all have a great time watching this video back together! Oh, and it's a small touch for me, but including the Monkey Target music from Monkey Ball 2 at the end brought me instantly back to my childhood - made this even more special ending off!
Yeah this was such a heartwarming video to watch and then the Monkey Target music made it that much better. That was one of the games my dad and I would play together when I was little and I loved it.
@@MarioGalaxy2000 That's so great! I'm glad you had Monkey Ball in your life as a kid too - it's such a charming little game, much like Mario with its bright colors. Music has a way of making us feel nostalgic!
Those fireballs falling down a second after you enter the key door? Perfect level design 👌 Keep an eye on the daughter who made that level, btw. She's got the potential to be a really great troll level creator 😄
This is so heartwarming. I love the family vibes from this channel. And the fact that they both made you levels is sweet. I realized also haven’t thinking about that some levels could be made by kids trying their best. I’m gonna also start keeping that in mind
11:20 😂😂😂 It’s awesome that your daughters are involved in your hobby. The main reason I’m so into games now is that my parents included me in their hobby when I was a kid.
This is the content I'm here for. I love gaming with my kid too, and you really can see their faces light up when you do stuff like this with them. Keep it up Dave, we all love your videos in this house.
These are so good! My kiddo has been playing from a similar age all the way from Mario Maker 1 early days and has loved making me levels. However, I made the mistake of letting him watch some videos with Carl's hardlock tech and he's now made it his mission to recreate it for me !!!
In the last level, not only is the ground shaped like a birthday cake, there's also a lava bubble in the center for a candle's flame. Very nice work from your daughters, Dave.
This was so wholesome and heartwarming to see. I actually started crying at the end. It's so nice to see families showing an interest with each others hobbies and careers. Carmen and Willow did a great job on the levels.
Got to say I've been watching you for about a year and this has to be the best video. Being a father of a 7 month daughter I can't wait till she is able to this with me. She does watch you when I have it on the TV.
I'm VERY exited. The mario franchise has been a crucial part of my childhood and to this day I always enjoy playing the various games that nintendo made of the plumber. And now a movie! There is no telling how hyped I am!
Also your kids make better levels than any little Timmy or even I could make. They're awesome. Also let me say that this guy deserves the dad of the year award for giving his girls a chance to make levels. Anyone who does is a good dad
I'm disturbed by the lack of Kaizo blocks. Come on Dave, you've gotta teach them the fundamentals of level building! (Really though, fantastic job young friends. They are better worlds than I have made!)
I think the most amazing thing for me is that as long as TH-cam is around.. long after dgr is dead and gone his daughters can look back at this and see how much he loves them.. My dad passed last year and I'd give anything for something like that
I LOVED the first time you did this! I'm so glad that you've done it again. Those levels are honestly REALLY good for 4 and 6 year olds to make! Your daughters did great on them!
Dave, it goes without saying, how you haven't merely made a community, you have made an extended family. it shows with the vast majority of the comments here. Most people would be on the fence on watching videos where somebody's young children made them a video. But your fans, nay, extended family are here to support this all the way. Thank you Dave for all you do, all your content, and you better watch out.. I can already tell these two young ladies will be making your 171 IQ look like a drop in the bucket.
Saying that your oldest daughter is 6 gave me an incredible amount of goosebumps, I’ve been here for the whole ride, since before she was born, and it is incredible to see how much your channel has grown, much love Dave ❤
11:29 it would have put the cherry on top if your girls put a kaizo block there and you went into the saw. Wonderful levels girls, keep up the great work. And remember girls, your daddy love's troll levels 😂😂😂
Great job girls! I love that all the levels had a clear theme, and strong power-up design! My daughter also loves making SMM2 levels - it's a great forum for inspiring and encouraging creativity and problem solving. ❤️
Not the boom boom nooooo!!! 😅🤣😂 on a serious note Carmen and Willow did an amazing job creating levels for dgr. Very cool levels loved watching them!!!
Lesson of the day: the next time you see a Mario Maker level that isn't made very well just remember that a little kid might have made it out of admiration for those who make actual good levels
LOVE IT! So great seeing you're kids getting involved to give you a different kind of challenge ❤ I'm personally stoked for the Mario Movie, I get to take my 9yr old nephew to it 😄
Also my son Arlo and I are both super stoked to see the new Mario movie. He’s 4 and a half and it will be his first time going to the theater and I’m sure it will be a fond memory for us both.
My boy and I watch you almost every morning after breakfast before school he is super passionate about Mario. He is also 6 years and I love what you have done here. You are a magnificent father, keep up the good work my friend. (ps make more of those little dgr dave stuffies lol, gotta get one for the boy)
