    That's not what he is saying, he says it is on the continuity trail from pianos etc, for instance, a MIDI-keyboard is obviously velocity sensitive, but you have no way of controlling for example the attack of the sound with just a MIDI-keyboard. It is the same with other nuances, like scaling and glides for separate notes, without connecting more controllers. And even then it is a hassle.

    I like him but he's wrong about MIDI
    the keyboards now are responsive to the velocities of the fingers and you can edit so much things in the piano roll, you can actually learn music theory and composition thanks to MIDI, and there are actually very creative controllers coming out, like sound plane by madronalabs. I don't think MIDI is a mistake by any means, in fact is one of the best contributions to music since then.Having say that, I do like the whole " beyond the keyboard approach.
