I love Morton Subotnick's music. I am so glad I bought Silver Apples of The Moon for .50 cents back in 1991 and it provided me with the type of electronic music I so love today and that I also write on my own Buchla 100.
You'd be surprised how down-to-earth a lot of "experimental" musicians are in person. Subotnick's always kinda reminded me of my uncle Stan. I was first introduced to him when I was like 5, because he put out a Windows 9x program called "Making Music" that was intended to be a MIDI sequencer accessible to kindergarteners (with the "piano roll" visualized as a Kid Pix-esque paint program), and that program can do some things I can't even do in Ableton (such as invert every interval in a sequence simply by rotating the "canvas" 180 degrees).
@@imlxh7126 Interesting - do you know who published Making Music or where it might be downloaded to run on an old Win 95 machine or emulator? Or I would be interested in a modern version of a tracker / sequencer that is simple enough for kids (and people who find themselves overwhelmed by complicated music making software!)
No they both got the name from a WB Yeats poem - The Song of the Wandering Aengus "And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun."
I always thought it was a reference to the Ray Bradbury story ‘The Golden Apples of the Sun’. I didn’t know about the WB Yeats reference, so thank you.
What’s not to love ? Subotnick showing us how the synths should be pushed as hard as possible to escape conventional applications completely! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶✌🏻🤖🤖🤖👽👽🙏🙏🛸🛸👏🏻👏🏻🔦😍👍🏻🔦👍🏻☠️☠️🕺🕺🐕🐕🐕Peace CHRISTO
This is one of my favourite electronic music albums of all time.

What a great story. Should be part of a play or an opera!
I am finding this channel very interesting thanks for uploading these films
Such a fun story!
Thanks for this wonderful story 😸
The way this guy talks and tells stories, he sounds more like a blues musician than a pioneer of electronic music.
