Great video man! Out of all the ways to run aux fuel, this is definitely my favorite :) I like how the stock fuel system is kept totally separate and pretty much untouched, and how everything aux fuel related is kept in the front. I can imagine this setup being much easier to install over setups that utilize fuel from the stock tank
Ya man it’s pretty straight forward and cut and dry . It’s basically a giant loop of fuel constantly going lol . Thanks for the kind words too my man!!
This was very helpful brother aux fuel is one of the subject that is talk about a lot but no videos to walk you through the process so great content Shout out to wannabe tuners who just started a video on 6 port injection step by step process so no we have to channels that explains port injection
Great video!!! Lot of questions will be answered for those seeking some info on these setups. Nishan has a video on his youtube page detailing the programming of the split sec controller as well. Cant wait to see this thing rip this season!
@@SpoolingUpPerformance for sure. yeah you covered all the bases on it without getting down in the weeds of it all. Another setup that is becoming more popular now is the surge tank. Which i will be running on mine pretty soon. The variations you can do with aux fueling are quite a few. Seen a few unique setups here and there
Would it not be more straight forward just to improve the factory high pressure fuel pump output pressure and T off that for fuel to the port injection? Rather than having a separate fuel tank? Maybe it's different on this year car, but my 2007 Mazda 6 MPS has a high pressure fuel pump under the bonnet already that can be upgraded.
This is a long awaited video that speed owners have been waiting on. This is going to help and also answer all questions about port injection So thumbs up 👍 on this video and hopefully more to come on the builds and how to get setups like this.
Hey man, great work on that aux fuel setup. Actually Doing pretty much the same setup this winter on my genwon. Question besides that, whats the "cooler" above the front mount ? Oil cooling ? just curious !
Wire your pump to a Hobbs switch that activates after like 6psi of boost. Then your pump is only running when you're giving her the beans and by the time you reach peak boost your pump is circulating plenty of fuel. Your pump will live longer and you don't even have to think about a switch. Just press the go pedal.
My understanding is that if you go the stock-tank route, many reputable tuners (Nishan comes to mind) say E50 is plenty for getting to MBT timing levels comfortably. The sticky death we're notorious for experiencing in our HPFPs usually happens at ~E40 and higher, but supposedly it can be prevented entirely with the Redline injector additive (more info on MSF). I personally experienced sticky death at only E40, rolled back to E25-E30 and never had it since after cleaning out my HPFP really well. I'd just as soon run a mix level low enough to not encounter it altogether, and DI makes major use of the functional octane of ethanol mixes due to the physics at play with DI, so E30 or so would probably get you far in terms of timing, still keep things cool and safe, and still help fueling headroom/mileage when cruising (if you care about that). BTW, I asked before, but forgot if/what you said: where'd you get that front bumper insert for this black Pu? I can't find it anywhere.
Numinous your comments are always looked forward to!! Appreciate you leaving your experience in here . I wish I could have explained more of everything but for the sake of not having an hour long video I kind of made it quick and to the point lol !
@@SpoolingUpPerformance Thanks, Alex XD I appreciate the info on the grille too, guys. I Googled and came up with a lot of potential sellers. Can you guys recommend a particular vendor? How's fitment too - massaging required?
Is the 2 Gallon enough? I'm definitely looking to do the separate fuel system for e85 on my 1st gen (because I see what just 10% ethanol is doing to stock fuel systems on cars) and was looking to do a 5 Gallon in the hatch area where the spare tire sits.
2 gallon is plenty because it’s not always spraying fuel . So it doesn’t constantly feed fuel to the engine like your stock set up uses . This only pulses the injectors when it’s told to ie: when your in heavier boost and rpm / where your tuner sets it up basically
@@SpoolingUpPerformance I was more curious on the regular when you are playing around with the car how often does the 2 Gallon have to be filled relative to the stock tank? I'm aware that you are likely using more fuel from the PI than I will be at the beginning as my upgrade path will be CST5 & PI then Built motor at a later date so my power will be much lower than your current build. Sorry for all the questions but you seem more apt to help than some on the forums and FB.
Cell* haha, question, for those wanting to run E50. Is there a cell large enough to pour all the E85 in for the proper mix amount or should it be done just in tank?
Hi there i have a question, i want to use an aditive for valve cleaning, but as far i know the gasoline goes in direct injection and the aditive is poured in the gas tank, will it work? i have been told that even if the gas goes in direct injection it has to pass via the admision valves, will it work in a Mazdaspeed 6?
Wait is this an aux fuel setup? You might want to actually mention that at somepoint.... I know you mentioned still having a hpfp, which is the only reason I am asking. I was looking for actual Port Fuel conversion, not auxiliary fueling.
No because your car technically has them . Now if it were me I would redo all the factory lines and upgrade them to PTFE -8an feed and return lines with an inline filter. There are a bunch of ways to do this you can kind of make it your own in a way
I didn’t think it needed a filter, but I’ve never really seen many thoughts on using the stock tank. I’m going to be installing a walbro450 itfp, -6 up to the firewall and y into the rail and hpfp. Then use stock feed as a return.
Can I run this with just pump gas? I have a speed 3 looking to atleast make 450 maybe 500 to the wheels but idk what I would need ive been hearing on forums that the secondary mechanical pump won't handle anything over 320
Hello. I have a 2006 speed 6. I have the p2006 code plunger stuck/ open. I have found the problem but does anyone here have any advice or fix. Thank you
So this has the original direct injection with an added port injection fuel system for when you need it? That’s pretty darn cool. Great video.

Can you actually add a methanol nozzle separate and control by let’s say, snow performance system..??? And I mean on top of the port injection..?
Yes absolutely but may I ask why you’d want to that? Would it just be for cooling purposes
What do you hook up the four yellow wires on the split controller box to?

Sick man! Did you had to rebuild the engine?
What are the hoses he has coming from the top of the valve cover ? Is it a catch can ?
Goes to a vented catch can
Good info! Thanks for breaking it all down!
No problem !
So you can run your port injectors and the return line goes into the hpfp? And it will be fine with an upgraded in tank fuel pump?

Can u told me from where can I get the Fuel tank with fitting?
Thanks Alex!!! Definitely been wondering about this, as a daily idk if id want a fuel sell on a semi daily street car
You’re welcome !
Cell* haha, question, for those wanting to run E50. Is there a cell large enough to pour all the E85 in for the proper mix amount or should it be done just in tank?
If you’re wanting to do an e50 blend I would just run your port injection from the stock tank and do a E30-E50 blend and call it good
So 8th port with a second pump? Like the Sp63 kit or chris Collins kit?
Yup exactly, either will work !
Also, do you run 10an from your cell and 6an after your regulator or what size do you recommend running?
With your port injection where did you reroute your intercooler piping mine is going over top of the intake manifold
My question exactly, driver side intercooler?

Would that be a safety hazard having fuel at the front of the car, at risk of collision?
No
Hey you know where i can buy wire tuck harness i talk with one guy on Facebook but he cant make that for now
Does the fuel cell have to be filled manually?
Yes it does. The top unscrews , our fuel in , close it , drive
Ugh that cold start 🤤🤤🤤🤤😍😍😍😍😍

Can any of this be done with the new Mazda6 Turbo 2.5?
I’m sure but there isn’t a lot of support for it yet

Any idea how long that second tank lasts with e?
All depends on how often you got WOT
For normal driving it doesn’t use any , it’s when your ripping it is when it kicks on . 2gal will be plenty for hooning around .
Do u sell the fuel system kit ??
How much did the car cost?
We got extremely lucky and picked it up for 10k
Is the car fully tuned ?
Not at all lol coming sooon

We will accept and do something with everything we get . What team is it ?
my cold starts sound the same...but im stock

This setup has no chances to survive a front impact without setting a major fire
Direct port injection sucks! There is way too much going on and too many parts that can fail.
