How much soil are you supposed to sift over the trap? Also, can making dirt hole sets be done once the ground has frozen? It seems like it would be pretty difficult to dig into the frozen ground.
@christophers5664 I usually only cover with 1/4" to 1/2" of dirt. I see other guys use more. Making dirhole sets in frozen ground is a little harder, but still done. I use a pick axe to chop out a trap bed and a Dewalt drill to make the bait hole. I cover the trap with peat moss or grass clippings (or snow),, while others use waxed dirt.
