The fact that Joe had to sell the track, the album, and God forbid me when I say this, his band and the metal community, to voice out that our planet is in grave danger and yet, the Academy doesn't recognize this?! Man, Gojira is way too good for this planet. Because they're from another planet entirely! Period.

This man has more class and good will than 95% of the celebrities attending the event. The 300 grand he was able to raise no doubt pale in comparison to the spending involved in putting this lil soiree on so American celebrities can pat each other on the back. This is not a Hollywood millionaire doing their 5th Vanity Fair feature. This is a French dude with a guitar trying to save the damn Amazon forest. This should be more important for us, collectively, as a society, than Olivia Rodrigo's teenage heartbreak.

Joe Duplantier and the entire band are gentlemen and good people. I love their music and I like it very heavy. Their early albums are fantastic but Fortitude is a beautiful album.

Grammys need to do more for Metal music. Gojira had one of the most brilliant albums.

“There’s more oxygen in the music”. I know the interviewers had no clue what he was talking about but that sentence perfectly incapsulates how their music has changed.

Its amazing how when you hear these guys music its so extreme and angry and you see him speak in an interview and he's just such a calm and chill dude

Yknow the interviewers had allot of respect and time for joe…it must be refreshing to talk to someone at an event such as that with something more to say than your typical industry made star.
He dosent have to tow a line as much as more mainstream forms of entertainment so it makes it interesting when he could make his band infamous in the mainstream by saying something outrageous and ‘rock n roll’ yet instead choosing to treat these women with sincerity and conversations of compassion as opposed to the usual self aggrandising topic of conversation to be found at a red carpet event

Saw them live in Seattle 4.16.22 and their music is amazing. I wish the notion of them being stoner metal didn’t make me stray from their music. There’s so much I missed out on prior to seeing them live with Deftones.

Gojira is much more deserving of "Best Metal Performance" than Dream Theater. Been a DT fan for 30 years, but have never considered them Metal. Gojira are monsters!
