@@NiinasJournal exactly.. besides in this kind of circus people are straight up performers and not just a "clown" (in the way people have clowns in their mind)..
I love how Koreans bow, or at least lower their heads slightly, no matter who it is. I think a show of respect and humility among strangers, even a token one, is something that's missing in many societies.
yes of course ! as an asian who's living in asia, we were taught to be polite and to always be humble to others since we were kids. we were told to do things like shakes hands, bow to each other, and etc.
Each country has its own way of showing respect, we don't ALL have to bow to show respect, as long as you are kind and respectful that is all that matters.
@@breeze1637 Some cultures are more respectful than others, however. And bowing is particularly significant because you lower your head rather than holding it up high, demonstrating humility specifically. Psychologists have pointed out that physical gestures are not simply reflections of inner mental states or feelings, but actually induce those feelings as well. Lowering your head below another person's makes you feel humble - it is a basic behavior. And a culture that makes this a habit prioritizes humility and respect.
In my experience in the states, the "normal" Americans there think politeness and bowing makes you look weak. www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/comments/km8zyi/aita_for_refusing_to_bow_to_my_korean_fiancees/

I don't think you've gone to enough drag shows, followed enough IG drag accounts or watched enough Drag Race or you wouldn't make such a generalization. Plus drag is transformative there is no one "correct" way to do drag such that the standard is "conventional beauty" or feminine beauty. I'm sure even in Korea there are many drag esthetics that don't necessarily conform to the "pretty" or what queens would call fishy look.
@@lollypokemon I think you missed my entire point which was what is your point of reference for this opinion? Even the japanese styles of makeup which are not drag you just mentioned only represent a certain aesthetic within that culture. I'm simply saying maybe learn a bit more about drag globally before stating an entire nation of a performance art is clownish? There are artists out there who would find that incredibly insulting and others that would say yes that's exactly what I'm going for! I just don't think generalizations such as these are helpful though of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions *shrugs*
To be fair, Nana's look is a bit ring leader-y. But, prince style (not sure what it's called here, just boring that term from lolita culture) does seem to tend in that direction in general.
@P Poh I get what you're saying... I'm Indian so I'm pretty much aware of how conservative asians can be but i feel like us being the younger generation should learn to accept and acknowledge all kinds of people
"I've been speaking Korean all along and you're saying that I'm not Korean?" To be fair, there are foreigners in Korea that can speak excellent Korean, so I don't fault him for thinking that honestly.
They look asian though, what he was insinuating no normal Korean would dress like that so they must be foreigners even if they look korean and speak korean.
I love that even though they're Drags Queens, their make up is kinda "natural" in comparation to the occidental Queens. I'm Not saying that one is best than an other, it's just something interesting.
Yeah and they're skinnier/have smaller frame than a lot of the western queens, which makes them a bit more feminine (smaller, v shaped face, small shoulders, etc). A lot of western queens are muscular or big. The manlier the more extreme they're gonna have to go with make up to create an illusion of femininity. Not that all drags are after perfect femininity.
If you have noticed in RPDR, most of the asian drag queens do seemingly "natural" make up looks just like them. Check Manila Luzon, Raja, Platique Tiara, Gia Gunn, Vivienne Pinay, Kimora Blanc and Ongina. Really distinguishable from the queens of pure western origin.
I must say that I really enjoyed watching this! The level of respect, kindness and genuine curiosity was beautiful to bear witness to. This is my very first time seeing non-American drag queens and these queens were absolutely GORGEOUS! I’m going to check out both of their social media pages after this and educate myself on drag queens worldwide! Just a really fabulous video, as usual!
eld lasaten I already do. I meant drag queens who LIVE in those countries currently, not those who are from those countries and live here and/or born here.

3:21 is literally so perfect. The confusion, the subtle chaos, the laughter. I replayed it a hundred times.

@@A52424gr_gr that's the point. and it's what respect is all about. lowering yourself can make people feel higher and gives a meaning that you are a precious person. and it's called being humble. what many americans are losing.

To be honest, compared to drag queen from usa, they look prettier, their makeup looks like animation
@@LacquerLockdown it's just their opinion that they look prettier
Drag from usa reminds me of a clown. Not trying to insult. Japanese manba and gyaru also kinda look like a clown.
@@lollypokemon lol
@@lollypokemon I think you missed my entire point which was what is your point of reference for this opinion? Even the japanese styles of makeup which are not drag you just mentioned only represent a certain aesthetic within that culture. I'm simply saying maybe learn a bit more about drag globally before stating an entire nation of a performance art is clownish? There are artists out there who would find that incredibly insulting and others that would say yes that's exactly what I'm going for! I just don't think generalizations such as these are helpful though of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions *shrugs*
I'm more intrigued as to why these people had never heard of a drag queen before. Great video. Fun and friendly. Very nice indeed.

I love that even though they're Drags Queens, their make up is kinda "natural" in comparation to the occidental Queens. I'm Not saying that one is best than an other, it's just something interesting.
true.
Influenced by Korean makeup standards.
Plus the way they dress are even fashionable than the western style. From what I see?
Watch RuPaul's Drag Race on Netflix mama!!
eld lasaten I already do. I meant drag queens who LIVE in those countries currently, not those who are from those countries and live here and/or born here.
You can watch "la más draga" it's a mexican show that shows diferent queens from all over mexico and make them do challenge till one of them one, also "drag me as a queen" it's a brazilian show where queen give make overs to woman and make them be "the queen they're inside", i love your idea of discovering!
