I don’t know why many don't like briefs, someone considers them childish or old-fashioned, uncomfortable, etc. But in my opinion, a comfortable model for any trousers, pants or shorts does not wrinkle on the legs like boxers.
Because if you wear very thight jeans you can see them imprinted on your ass. Even the seamless ones are very often slightly visible. Most people I know think that it looks terrible so they all wear thongs for that reason.
After my teens I realized that comfort is better than fashion. So lace went out the window (at least for underwear) and cotton boyshorts and trunks became everyday wear. Preferably by Tomboyx.
