- In this video I show you how to read and analyze the wiring diagrams on Ford. I show you two different formats of wiring diagrams on two different cars and I also show how to find the pins and wires on a real car after finding the details on the diagrams. I explain how to read the system operation, how to locate the components, connectors and wires, also I discuss the wire colors and locating the pins in the connectors.

Well done. However I have a question. At around 21 minutes you are disconnecting the three harness connections to the controller. What I cannot seem to find (Mitchell ProDemand) is which connector out of the three is which. I see you resort to looking for visual differences of the connectors. However it seems to me there should be info telling which one is which. Sometimes you want to test a circuit without disturbing it, particularly with intermittent issues. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, thanks for your comment.
Although some wiring diagrams show the location of each single connector (even on the control unit), on many cases we have to identify by visual differences. For example, in case of those three connectors on ECM, one connector is smaller than other two, so easy to find. The other two are very similar, but we can see the number if pins inside the connectors are different on the first and last column which makes the connector unique.

There are many different ways. Dealers have access to the technical website. But there are some websites offering the wiring diagrams for a monthly fee.

Hi there, that one is actually Ford wiring diagram too. The one I presented at the beginning of the video was PDF, and the one you are referring to is not a software, it is offline workshop manual which works with browser.

How about a 1988 Mercury Cougar XR 7 that tries to start once and won't run or idle. If it sets over night and you get in it to start it and it will fire for a second or two then stall. Try again and it won't go, tries but won't start. New fuel tank, fuel pump, sending unit, fuel lines, idle position sensor, 8 new fuel injectors and same old thing. PCM? Don't know what to do, it is a 5.0L 302 and the car has 50,000 on it.??? Ideas to help with this issue? Please.😊
Hi @johnelliott7375. I hope you were able to resolve this issue. If not, find out what the fuel pressure should be at the fuel rail for this vehicle, then check to see what the fuel pressure is at the fuel rail. The results should assist with determining if the issue is with the appropriate amount of fuel being supplied to the injectors, and if not, is the issue between the fuel tank and fuel regulator, the fuel regulator, or from the fuel regulator to the injectors. I hope this helps if you still have the issue.
i got a 2000 ford windstar and none of the power windows work or the radio. cant figure it out. do you know where the fuse is
Hi there, check the Fuse 15 (10 A) inside the Central Junction Box, if that one is okay, check the accessory delay relay inside the same junction box.

There are many websites, but normally when they are free, we can not trust that the wiring diagram or workshop manual is exactly for the car mentioned.
