    • @KillahMate
      @KillahMate 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@MaxArceus The text on the sign in the background looks better in DLSS Quality than it does with native rendering. It looks worse here because they've set it to DLSS Performance and all of these games are using DLSS 2.0 and 2.1, which are slightly outdated implementations that don't maintain sharpness the way DLSS 2.2 now does. Meaning, you're not wrong here but I advise not relying on that too much - Cyberpunk in Quality mode or upcoming games with DLSS 2.2 in Balanced mode or higher look better than native.

      Anthony's approach was the best: one of the downsides of DLSS is that it doesn't upscaled ray traced reflections, which are usually rendered at a fraction of the input resolution, which is by design lower than the output resolution of DLSS. James's approach would be the least effective, since texture and detail are the strongest suits of DLSS, and it's usually where the claims of "better than native res" come from.
      Linus made a pretty basic mistake, and for some reason thought that z-fighting was a "temporal artifact". Ghosting/smearing is usually what makes DLSS a straight up no go in some games

      @@randomgaming8616 DLSS cannot be open standard because Nvidia doesn't want it to be open standard, because of proprietary architecture in RTX GPUs and because it takes a looooot of work to implement. If Nvidia wasn't paying devs to implement it, there would be no DLSS game to begin with. FSR is open standard, that's why it's being literally moded into games few weeks after it came out, eg GTA V.

      @williammurphy1674 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree! In Cyberpunk 2077 Raytraced Reflections looks great and makes the most noticeable difference. It's what I use, while turning off Shadows & Lighting to bump up the fps on my 2070 Super FE running DLSS on Quality Mode. ( For those who complain about Raytracing being blurry, just go to your Nvidia Control Panel under Global/Game Settings, turn off Nvidia's Sharpener and manually adjust your sharpness level to your own liking by moving Sharpen slider to 0.18 & Ignore Film Grain to 0.05 to start with .. You'll lose a few fps in-game, but it's worth it imo. )

    Maybe fun fact: for Cyberpunk 2077, I preffered playing 1080p with DLSS than 1080p native. I had the frames to do so (without RTX) but RTX was not the biggest draw! It was actually fences and power wires and far off contigous details that were missing from the native 1080p and were made apparent in thee 1080p DLSS. In native, the cables would be almost cut out and were replaced by dashes, the fenses were almost a blur ontop of the road behind them and textures far away would look unnatural. This is not due to anisotropic filtering, I had this in x16 all the time but it did not help! As soon as I activated DLSS for 1080p target res all that went away! Cables had constant thickness and great curves, fences were properly visible infront of the background and the background between the gaps in wire were not distorted, and the textures were appropriate throughout all distances from me.
