Hey Gary , how about an update for the ORX?? Adjustable iron volume would be a huge improvement for the ORX!! Currently on or off is to much or not enough . Any thoughts on this ???
Cracking video Gary and I dig everything as I have found in the past that Celtic Quarter Staters ring in the same as Coke, Hot Rocks for me are always high tone and ringpulls always come in the 70's which is Gold range for me. Small Hammered come in at 45-55 which for me is thick foil and thin copper? I do not really go off the numbers too much as I listen to the tones as small hammered even at 45-55 still have a higher pitch. Shotgun ends are a real pai for me as they are Always off target when pinpointing with the coil, not sure why that is as everything is always 99% spot on? Love the camera angles and looks like you have some awesome weather as right now it feels like winter down here in Kent lol. Take Care and Stay Safe Gary
Cracking video as per Gary 👍🏻 received delivery yesterday of my new ORX, going to christen it tomorrow on some pasture, 🤞🏻it finds the goods. Great and helpful video as per, keep up the great work!
Question for you Gary ?? If you could get an update for the ORX , actually 1 or 2 updates to enhance the ORX . What would they be ??? Perhaps an optional 4th tone ??? Adjustable iron volume?? …….. for us people who can’t spend more $$ for a Deus / Deus 2 thanks Tony
How about an update for the ORX ...... adjustable iron volume would make this detector so much better!!! Come on XP , you update the Deus several times....... it would make a good detector into a great detector!!!! 😃
I bought an ORX for Christmas and have only now been able to use it. How about a video on urban parks with trashy ground? It is still winter on our British Columbia mountains and city parks are where I'm learning to use it. Thanks.
Hi Gary, please make video with the XP Deus + HF coil on the beach, what is the best settings for dry and wet sand? What other programs except factory 7 and 8, could we use on the beach detecting?
Very nice thank you. My problem on the beaches of Lake Erie is aluminum. Its everywhere of various types. Nuggets, foil, ring pulls, cans, slivers. Tough to isolate. Iron no problem. Continue to work with settings. Still fun & good exercise.
I believe the mystery item at 4:34 is a crotal bell fragment. I've found quite a few smaller ones with my ORX this week and found about 1/8 of a large one that looks exactly the same as yours found here. Jim Parry, Backroads Metal Detecting
Fantastic day and great video Gary. I've a question: In your normal days of research do you tend to investigate suspicious signals or to be more "cherry picking" as you have shown in this video? Thanks for your work, keep it up!
hello at first I greet you, you are doing a good job, I know this is a movie from a few years back but I just bought xp orx with a 9 inch coil, I have a question, which program is better for the field and which for grassy areas
Another Great video Gary... Well demonstrated mate... What goes missed is all the work you put into making these watchable videos, respect from me!!... I like to see you hunt in the woods, maybe doing a comparison test with the Deus + ORX... finding them tricky signals under roots..... Take care.... Best Wishes CMNW 🏴
the orx im thinking is one amazing detector i really have not got to know it as well as i want i have had fires in my home town had to leave town out of all my detectors i took the orx i grabbed stuff and got out of town fires did not reach my house but i was not going to leave my orx i should be back to testing it out more and i can give better info on it so far so good im glad i bought it cant wait to get the mi6 pin pointer and the big round hf coil
Good evening , I am thinking about the buy of XP ORX. This detektor has 3 tones and target ID. You are looking or (listening) only of tone or target ID. What target ID have silver coin. Thank for aswer and greeting from Czech republik
Hi thanks for your comment. Silver coins respond at all different numbers, sometimes the high tone, sometimes the middle tone. This is because they are all different sizes and quality.
Heya!! I got the ORX with the white eliptic HF coil. Now.. I was thinking about buying the black X35 frequency coil. IF i'm correct, the one you are using in the video. Can you explain the main differences and if it's actually worth going for it?
I see that you like to use coin fast quite a bit but i have found that here in the states (especially in south Alabama where we have a lot of red clay) that coin fast does not give much depth. Around 5 inches is max for coins in the coin fast program. Coin deep and gold 1 seems to give me the best depth.
Can you explain to me the Sensitivity issue in ORX? What is the purpose of a high number 75-90? And what is the purpose of a lower number 60-70? I work regularly on the Coin fast program I'm not looking for sea sand on the beach. I'm looking in a forest (park) full of lids and tabs of cans/cans, lids of beer bottles, nails and irons. Very dirty area. What is the right sensitivity to work with?
In my experience stick it on coin fast and just go with the pre set sensitivity which is 90. High numbers / high tones indicate good conductors copper / bronze objects/ aluminium etc ..a 70's number for example could be a ring pull same as a hammered coin. Mid tones could be smaller objects. A signal jumping from high to low numbers with an iffy edge could be pieces of mis shaped lead and even musket /pistol balls. It's a learning curve and it can catch anyone out so if in doubt dig it :)
Use 1-gold at 31 khz , 97/94 sensitive n treshold at 8/12 , Coin fast It's for learn ORX and if want use better this machine forget It . Use only Gold program even in the sand
Hey Gary. I am digging in Indiana in highly mineralized soil. I have the Orx with the 9 inch elliptical coil. Can you tell me a set up that will work in this awful soil to get the maximum depth. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time. I am buying the Deus next. Would the black coils work better in my soil for silver coins
Not gonna lie. I have a high level of anxiety after watching you walk past some of those mid tones! But what a great video showcasing the power and depth of the ORX.
Don't worry Grant I will investigate those mid tone signals over the next few videos. I just wanted to make sure there is something left for you guys when you visit the UK.
From the USA.....I hunt in a place where there is a lot of aluminum scrap (pop tops, foil, and shreaded cans). How does the XP DAUS and ORX do in this environment searching for coins? I haven't found any videos on this. I use the Garrett AP Pro and would like to upgrade to an XP.
I have same problem on Lake Erie beaches. Was using Garret ATX but got tired of digging feet down in sand for aluminum. XP lighter & more discrimination but still tough to not dig high tones from aluminum chunks. Now looking for iron meteorites in rocks along shore line. Not sure if there is anyway to rid aluminum due to various types.
Hy Gary...it’s possible To translate in italian all your videos...? I saw there are some videos in italian but there are more interesting in english. However you are incredible with your detecting tecnicque.
I notice a lot of questions but no answers . I have 3 Noktas and when I asked a question I received a phone call from Nokta in Istanbul . Now that is a company I like dealimg with . I am not feeling the love from Xp . Nokta listens . Xp not so much .
So the fact that the signal didn’t come up on the monitor is good?? It sounded great yes, so I would dig it anyway, but surely the monitor would only confirm that it’s a good signal??
i use and love every XP item ever relased, but i find it kinda silly that every singel video gary or anybody else from XP , they are using crappy digging equipment . i get that they dont want to run adds for other companies , but could it hurt that much ? possible to run a compilation with others?
People, maybe you can help me! I’ve owned the ORX for two years, but lately it’s started to behave weirdly. :-( It simply starts to give a lot of false signals, and often appears at the place where the frequency is written (----), but after a short time the frequency number reappears! If anyone had this problem, any help is welcome ... Thank you!
just contact your dealer, probably some kind of defect, had similar problems with a deus years ago. ended up getting a replacement remote because something was broken.
The ORX is not better than the Deus or worse. They are, in hardware terms, the same detector. The software and user interface are different but the coils and logic boards are the same as far as I can see. The ORX is simpler to use but doesn't have the XY display and has more limited tones but since I dig anything non-ferrous, that is fine by me.

Hi Gary, what kind of coins and field was this? Any thoughts how they get there? It doesn't look like an recreation field to me. Tnx and cheers
I'm not sure what it was, perhaps a fair site.
I'm guessing the coins were mainly late 1800's but in poor condition.

Well ring from 45 to 54
