Had the ORX about 7 months now (UK based) a good example of how this machine performs was when I was out on the beach. I found a coin spill consisting of £1 coin/ 2x20p pieces/ a 5 Phennig piece then got a mixed signal of low tone iron with a mid tone which for me I would investigate, seeing as my mate was near I asked him to go over it with his detector, he said it was rubbish & would not dig it. I explained why I would dig it and the look on his face when it turned out to be a brand new 10 pence piece, the ORX was picking up the base poor steel core hence the iron tone but also picking up on the nickel plating. I told him to get a new detector :) . It's also found me a bucket lister a bronze age Palstave axe head 1200/1500bc (lucky find)
Great presentation. Your explanation of the XP ORX Remote Control menu is very helpful and provides this newbie with a much better appreciation of the detectors functionality and attributes.
So XP just put up a (brief) announcement on their website of an Upgrade Kit for both the DEUS I and the ORX !! Not there at the moment, but one it was mentioned it will be launched soon. So owning an ORX and DEUS1 may be a good place to be even more than it already was in some time soon!
Thank you very much Sir for a well done video!! I was looking for a lesson on this topic !! this helps me out a lot my friend!! thanks again and happy hunting, your pal Kevin in France.
Great video thanks... having problems with earpones...When i switch on and get the speaker on off option I choose off , but the headphones dont work, if I choose ON then both the headphones and controller have a signal, which i dont want...any ideas please...
Melissa Bean hahaha yea I use my ear plugs from my iPhone It has volume control Or at K mart headphones with volume control At $15 Cheers Crouch the Surfing Prospector
THANKS Cleggy , a quick question matey i know you sell the orx, and that is what i am looking at,just tell me your thoughts on the gold monster as good or not, cheers chris
I can Only go by what I have seen, They will basically find about the same stuff but the ORX seems to have hit on targets a little better. As Its also a coin machine checking a target is easy as you can treat it like like a super high frequency coin shooter to break up hot rocks and dodge iron. They both do the same Job I just think the ORX gives you a few more tools in the Kit to get the Job Done. Cheers Mate Hope that doesn't sound too bias.
GOT THE ORX 2 WEEKS AGO DETECTED OVER GROUND IV'E DONE FOR YEARS WITH THE DEUS MACHINE UP CAME A CHARLES THE FIRST SCOTTISH SILVER HAMMERED COIN DATE ABOUT 1625 / 1649 SAY NO MORE.
Good video, mate but NO BEARD!! Where's the beard???? ;-} As you know, I bought a Deus in Feb and due to house selling cant get to use it more than 3 times. However, your video reinforced, for me, that my decision was correct. I was on the fence about Deus or ORX but went for Deus because I am going to be any old place in Australia come middle October and for years to come. Set programs with not so much to change wouldnt really be great for that reason. Sure the ORX will find gold really well but I still think (correct me if I am wrong) that the Deus will be better for me in most of Outback Oz.
Looking at the manual it says adjust the threshold from 0 /20 to get a faint background sound where is that on the control unit i can't find this function can you help please.
Only in program 1 and 2. Middle-top button then scroll through till you see it. + - button to adjust. YOu don't need to hear it, it's a cap on ground noise. 2-5 is ideal I find, depending on ground mineralisation.
Used my orx for about 1 hour and it's already don't work. Turns on but won't do anything it's like it's locked up. 600 bucks Down The Drain. Nothing but a piece of junk
Raise discrimination above 10 and that should do it for you. It also tells you its Iron by the TID Number. If starts with a ZERO walk away. Lastly you have tone, the iron tone is very distinct in coin modes. There are so many ways to get rid of it. Happy Hunting.

I like this. Straight to the point, no side talk. I love a good talk or chat. But there's times a no non-sense tutelage is needed.
