  • Repairing the angle selector and pin holder on my 3-point tractor grader blade. The angle selection on this blade was messed up when I bought it. All of the pin holes are wallowed out, the pin sleeve is loose inside the frame, and the pin is in bad shape. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:

Nice job doubling up the pipe for a heavy duty pin boss. Looks good!

Nice video. Might consider adding a grease zert to the king pin. Easy to do and would help the blade swing easier.

You know what, that's a good idea and I actually have all the tools to do it now. Thanks for the comment!

good work, might i suggest a bottem bracket with a corrisponding pin sleeve as well? i think thats why the thing is encountering so much wear

I originally planned to weld hardened bushings into each hole but I figured with the increased thickness of the new plate and the infrequent use it sees, it'll probably outlive me. :) Thanks for watching!

    why you using 6010 rods

Good eye! I used 6011 for a few reasons: 1.) I wanted high penetration since I was only welding one side of the plate. 2.) The "fast freeze" of the 6011 made it a bit easier to fill the gaps on the bottom of the pin sleeve. 3.) I have very little welding experience so maybe it wasn't the right rod for the job but it seems to have worked very well. What rod would you have used? Thanks for watching!

Due to my own affliction for reviving rusty junk, if I had a dollar for every time I said the words "Due to the Previous Owner ___"
    It's a very serious disease... 🤦‍♂
