    You can What’s your pump in recirculate so bypasses the sand filter and gives your vacuum more pressure

    I own a pool store and we were putting these up last year. We do a regular Hayward skimmer and Hayward returns. It is so much better than what you have for a skimmer now. For the skimmer you put it in the spot on your current return and for your returns you would put it where your suction is now.

      I just looked into them, looks like the route I’m going to take! Trying to find the right adapters that won’t restrict water flow to the bigger piping. Any insight?

      @@BigCountrysWay hi I would not suggest you switching these. First try to put your pump filter and salt system on some kind of platform. Idk if that helps but we don’t have flow restrictions problems. Contact me on sven.s.stanojevic@gmail.com for more informations or questions.

    It’s a huge issue to have 2 intakes. If you try snd plug off one, it puts sir in your lines. You fixed it when you installed the wall skimmer.

    I believe your vacuum problem is you have to turn off the flow to output valves to run the vacuum. I have seen it on another video! I hope that helps! I can't remember his video! I was watching because this is probably the last year with our pool!

    if your using your maintainance kit .. some times the hoover sends air to the system if its not submerged. check your connections on the skimmer/out see if they good , also you need to fully submerge that exra pipe for the skimmer you got so the air goes out.

    I have the same pool. I upgraded the Intex pump to a 18' sand filter pump with 1.5hp motor by Hayward/ still using the same exact skimmer, having the same issues. If I block off on inlet, the skimmer is sucking everything you can imagine, great whirlpool, but it's not enough water getting to the pump so my hoses collapse due to the sucking pressure of my pump. So I'm doing the same thing, I have the outlet open also, the skimmer is doing it's job, but not like it was with the one port blocked off. I was scared to damage my sand filter pump. I upgraded the pump because I just found out that the INTEX pumps are not even 1HP... no even the 3000GPH they sell. It's only 0.65hp, which in my opinion and from reading about pool pumps, it's not enough for our pool which is about 12,400 gallons of water....

    Hi, I know that air in the system is frustrating but as long as there is water pressure going from the jet to pool you’re fine. If there’s air in the basket, and if you see water and air shooting under the lid but there’s water circulating, nothing is wrong.

    • @BigCountrysWay
      @BigCountrysWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But it’s so bad, like if I leave the pump running with the plug in for 3-4 hours it’ll almost run my pump catch basket dry, ultimately leading to running my pump dry and shooting air out the jet

    If you use the white plug with the small whole in it, there will be no air in the hose. Just a few small bubbles.

    When you have a vacuum on the line the air in the water will separate out. The plug with the hole in it will determine the amount of vacuum you create.

    I got the skimmer last year and have been fight the air too. This year I upgraded to a Hayward sand filter and pump. 1800 GPH from the original 1500. I’ve done the same as you. Tried different size holes in the plug and tightening clamps. Thinking about trying moving the skimmer to other spot and see what happens.

    I noticed in another video that you’re using a salt system on this pool. Keep an eye out for rusting support poles and the top rails, Intex pools are bad about the metal frame corroding without using salt!

    • @BigCountrysWay
      @BigCountrysWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Copy, thanks! Imma keep my eye out. This is the XTR frame so I’m hoping it holds up good. Any rust that may show up, I’ll remove and repaint. My frame gets rinsed all the time by my sprinklers. That might help lol

    • @871jamie
      @871jamie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BigCountrysWay just keep an eye out. I used to own a swimming pool service company and I’ve seen really bad things happen with pools due to salt. Personally I wouldn’t ever use it. I get why people do but it cost you more in the long run having to replace the salt cells / chlorine generator. People think when they use salt the water is chlorine free but the salt cell / generator turns the salt to chlorine anyway. And at times it’s still necessary to shock your pool with chlorine. J/s

    • @BigCountrysWay
      @BigCountrysWay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@871jamie I gotcha. I shock my pool once a week. I enjoy the salt water though. Even with shock, it doesn’t hurt to open your eyes, it won’t bleach your clothes and it’s better for me 1 year olds skin. Plus I’m not buying TUBs of chlorine every summer. With these pools, if a part starts to rust it’s cheap to replace it.

    • @871jamie
      @871jamie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BigCountrysWay you did a good job with the skimmer by the way. I’ve done them on the same type of pools many times and never a problem. We actually have a similar pool but it’s a best way which pretty much makes all of these pools anyway. We added a waterfall to ours which cools the water down about 10° on any given day and we landscaped around it with black rubber mulch and a rubber border with solar lights all the way around it. Looks pretty kick ass.
