- Well, you really liked the experiment where we turned a Terraria world into luminite, and it just so happens that doing the same thing with chlorophyte makes a completely different (much harder) playthrough...

You absolutely can Hoik through walls thicker than one block. You just need to keep hammering the blocks in your feet so that the hypotenuse is pointing down and further into the wall.
Its hard to describe in words, but Sorbet Cafe made a pretty good guide on how hoiks work here on youtube. I'd link it, but youtube would take down my comment. The video is long, but going horizontally through walls is within in the first 5 minutes.

3. Additionally as i tested a number of things for my ideas on how to make better farm designs i found extra info. (So many hours spent testing)

Basically creatures do not spawn based on biome, instead based on the block they can spawn on at a specific area based on your screen size (just outside of view). There are Some exceptions to the biome thing, but mostly those are tied to events or variants, and even then, the blocks still matter. In particular on the worm discovery i was trying to find the fastest farms for every critter, bait, and animal, it was a… tedious set up to say the least.

Also, the immortal snail challenge. You always have a slow moving dungeon guardian head after you.

To make up for not being able to get hellstone this playthrough, you should make your next world entirely made out of hellstone.
"AHHHH IT BURNS" playthrough
This is exactly what I was thinking! It would certainly make for an interesting challenge, not sure how possible it would be though.
start by constantly jumping until you get close to a tree, then get wood and you have blocks to stand on without getting fried, definitely possible from then but probably a pain
@@toastr1255, can't the fishing reward pickaxe, the reaver shark, mine hellstone?
@@RoundShades Not anymore. Besides, the issue is more about how you'd get anywhere in the first place. Can't exactly go fishing in the ocean if you can't get a fishing rod and make it to the ocean without burning to death. The lava run was possible because of tunneling through blocks, but you can't exactly tunnel through the air to avoid touching blocks pre-hm
I like these single-block world ideas, and I liked the Portal Gun playthrough too. A thought struck me - what if your only means to navigate the world was a Rod of Discord, and you weren't allowed to mine through the world? (Could extend that rule to not mining anything at all, including blocks you place, but that detail is up to you).
Maybe rod of harmony so you don't die to every boss
@@Taburet192 just tank it🙏🙏
@@Taburet192 i mean, there is still other ways to get pushed around other than the rod of discord, so combining them together should make bosses possible.
@@Taburet192 are the rules "no mining/actuators/hoiks/other means of transporting through solid blocks," or "no walking?" i think we interpreted that differently
@Taburet192 yeah that works (I forgot/didn't know that existed because I don't try to get those or use them)
I feel like meteorite or hellstone would make for very painful early games. Meteorite can be blown up with bombs, but turns all biomes into meteorites with the same enemy who doesn't drop any useful loot meaning things like gel is off the table until a platform can be made. Hellstone can't be blown up until hardmode and requires an arena to be created for the boss of the evil biomes before it can be mined at all. I think meteorite offers more challenge, but more of a grind when artificial biomes have to be made.
On the plus side, both of these materials glow in the dark, so that would be a benefit for the video visuals. There's no real point in continuing the run past easymode for either of them as far as I can tell.
Meteorite can't be blown up until hardmode, same as hellstone.
@@toastr1255 Dang, the Journey's End update made me wrong again.

Vegan Terraria, you don't even get stone 😂
This sparked an idea in my head, what if there was a planet made out of meat with a brain as the core, but _everything_ was made out of meat so if vegans wanted to do anything it would be cruel in their minds and the only thing they could do realistically is give up the vegan lifestyle and if they simply did nothing at all they would eventually starve to do death. 41:51 New challenge idea: Can you beat Terraria?
using actuators to get around was such a cool strat. This run kind of doubled as a "terraria but I'm an engineer" run as well, though it would be cool to explore a couple different way to cheese the different bosses, similar to how you bomb bunnied the wall in your skinny world
Here's an idea for a sequel:
Start with a 'No Traps' seed, for an extra challenge, the replace every block _and wall_ with (unsafe) Dungeon ones.
Genuinely a bit shocked that WoS doesn't know how to make proper hoiks, I totally would've thought that's something they'd have used in the past for other challenges. For the record, you definitely can get through 2-block walls with hoiks; you can in fact go through any number of blocks horizontally with very minimal effort except through sand, which suffocates you while you're building the hoik.
I use it to raid the dungeon pre-boss. All I need is a starfury, a spawnpoint, and some good rng.
I had no idea that chlorophyte purified evil biomes and converted dirt to jungle grass. These challenge runs almost always end up teaching you a new obscure mechanic of the game, and I love it
“Some other block”, huh?
Try out spikes, breakable ice, or breakable dungeon bricks?
Spikes would be painful, that's for sure
I've seen a mod that makes every block behave like breakable dungeon bricks
it's always interesting to see where the game takes you and what strategies you employ to overcome the challenges associated with each hellscape you put yourself into-this one was honestly a really fun watch! the matching moss was absolutely my favorite scenery 'cause it definitely made the ore look like it was actually reacting to the light around it. thank you for the upload!

Haha, good one.
Figuring out if you can hoik through certain blocks is a lot like putting a baby to sleep, you just hit it with your hammer until something works.
I saw another commenter say to do a playthrough with the Rod of Harmony as your only movement option and I wanna comment that also because it sounds fun. Might be too trivial for a full series though
Chlorophyte detected nearby!
do you ever wonder what chlorophyte smells like
Probably a mix between iron and pine needles
I actually wonder how it tastes like 😋
like damp earth, moss, and a hint of metal.
imo it probably smells like wet grass or leaves, considering the fact it likely has chlorophyll + is in a relatively damp environment
My first thought was mint
in terms of unique blocks, the ones that come to mind are bubble and grates which both regard liquid. It would be kinda funny to see a world made of open grates where all the liquid just falls through, but it would probably be hell to load ngl.

If you move the merchant to the jungle, he will sell you a furnace which you can then shimmer for 20 stone. This way, you wouldn't have to farm the gemstone trees and making a massive block of stone for hardmode ores may have been a viable strategy.
I would be all-for a playthrough where the world is some utterly indestructible material and you can only "mine" through with meteorites (give yourself some sort of "spawn shadow orb button" or some other way to repeatedly trigger meteorite spawns).
22:59 metal detector at its finest
Now do it with Lizard Brick
The ore makes the world look more peaceful, and most of the mobs in the biomes can’t spawn since their biome is only ore
I’m wondering how one of these challenges would work with a mod that changes world generation and progression drastically like calamity.
I can't wait for the series finale: "Would Terraria be easier if every block was dirt?"
I could maybe see doing the opposite end of the spectrum, a world of copper or tin, making the lack of progressibilty the main issue
Compared with this run, the only real difference would be the lack of Chlorophyte after defeating the mech bosses. I'm sure he can get through Plantera with either Hallowed or Spider Armor. The process would be the same, find gem corn trees, farm those for stone, eventually find the shimmer, and rinse and repeat a lot of parts of this playthrough just without the issues of navigation.
You can still get weapons from enemy drops but yeah armor are going to be a big problem
I like seeing someone bash their head against a brick wall as much as the next guy, but wearing armour and not taking 400+ damage per hit in lategame is the saving grace for most people. I've sat through someone no-hitting Moonlord with a copper shortsword, I don't wanna witness any variation of that hell ever again.

I found it interesting that you chose to use what looked like a switch for activating your heart statues, as I usually use a pressure plate so I can just drive by heal easily, though id imagine a timer would also be a good method. As for interesting blocks, if it's possible to not replace ores while doing this making a sand only world might be interesting, or just frustrating hard to say, but you could alternatively do just all the gravity blocks and just do it in layers sorta like the all liquids filled world, like sand for the upper 3rd of the map, slush (that's a gravity block right?) for the middle third and silt for the bottom, that way there is an incentive to get to the bottom of the world for extractinator use reasons.

No, there is a limit to the amount that can exist in a world at a time. That's why if you wanna make a farm you need to full clear the jungle
@@xa447 lol we replied at the same time and didn't see each other because of comment lag
not only there's a limit to total amount of chlorophyte in the world, as noted by @xa447, there's also a limit to how much ore can be around any distance, as noticed by @GalacticScaleNoob.
I don't recall the exact number, but if you ever seen a Chloro farm, you may have noticed that it is a rare, regular grid at about 11 blocks distance between centers of each. Such farms have to be regularly cleared, as nearly Chlorophyte prevents any more, meanwhile other farm designs, more vast and empty, can be slower and less efficient, while allowing to reduce check-ups (not by that much honesty, the main limiting factor still is time for ore to grow)
