Quick tip I picked up randomly from a van full-timer in an IKEA: toss the pillow inserts and use the pillow covers to store bulky clothes like sweaters, jeans, and windbreakers that you might not wear often, and in the meantime, they still function perfectly as pillows!
You’re a professional logistician Eva. Your Plan of Action and Milestones included conducting a detailed test of the new Defender aka a shakeup, that is why since the Defender conversion, your adventures as of Dec 17th, 2022, have been successes. Learning by doing will ensure one lives a life of action and not just dreaming. Motivating! Keep having big fun! Semper Fidelis, Raphael
How absolutely fantastic! We’re an Aussie family of 5 living in India (for the past 6 years)…..we’re currently in the planning process of an epic 6 month adventure from here to Europe end of 2022. Can’t wait!
You are my new queen, not an hedonist, neither a superstar, just the queen of life . Your honesty is precious and I wish I was 30 years younger to not fall into the cliches of life who took over , looking forward for your next adventures
I traveled around the US in a similar setup for many months years ago, one of the best adventures ever! But now, I will be moving into your grandparent's place with them. It's so completely adorable and besides, living with someone's grandparents, "The World Belongs to the Brave".
I kept seeing Eva's videos pop up in my feed. Finally decided to watch a couple of them. I'm impressed... they're really well done. Not surprised she has nearly 1.5 million subs.
I love how you put it all out there that you are not a very organized person. Because when you first start watching your vlogging you think here is a person who has here s$&t together. Then it gets real. It becomes more personal when you share your struggles and your emotions. I’m pretty sure you have a doppelgänger here in Montana, USA. She recently bought a Overlander and had it shipped from Australia. She also redesigned it. Continue to follow your dreams.
So cool that your uncle is a professional carpenter and builder and he was able to get this done so quickly - and get you back on the road...safe travels and keep having fun!! 🌞🌈
So enjoying this Eva, I’ve owned a Discovery (Land Rover) but have a Jeep (that I love) at the moment. I’ve always wanted a Defender so I’m getting to live out that dream vicariously through your videos Eva. This adventure is going to be fun to watch, but honestly it’s your sheer joy in everything you do that keeps me watching, it’s a real tonic for these troubled times, thanks…keep on trucking.
Hello, As an old man in his 70's, I look forward to your adventures! I wonder if today one of your greatest gifts is all of your experiences in the last 3 years to draw on when needed? As always I am grateful for your attention and your time in producing these wonderful videos!
Currently I'm building my own "mini" campervan, well not technically building the interior, I'm just planning to use tailgate tent and take off some built in chairs inside to make room for the stuffs. And your videos motivated me when the plan about to fall because of my comfort zone. Well, I have a little daughter (10 mo) and leaving my family just for a short trip like one or two days will be a bit diffcult. But yeah, when I felt like to cancel the plan, I went to TH-cam, searched your channel, then watch your videos, and refreshed! Thanks a lot! If you somehow reached Indonesia, there are a lot of beautiful places here to camp.
I understand/agree completely. I have 3 pairs of bib overalls, and 7days worth of things to wear under and/or over them. I look the exact same every day, but it takes the thought out what the day needs all together.
Some people are designers &crafts people, some people are about fashion and clothing ; but Eva you’re about traveling and blogging about it. Brave, beautiful, courageous, resourceful , adventurous & infectious& inspiring; you are a role model for many girls and women . You show that a girl can have the most amazing travels & adventures even solo . You are a trailblazer. All the Best , Luck favors the Brave!
We are absolutely stoked to follow your journey! Also your philosophy for what living looks like is super similar to what we believe. So we are here for all of it!!!

Cooking tip ..... Use a bicycle disc brake rotor on the top of your camping stove. Gives you a more stable cooking area for your pots or pans to sit while cooking. The discs are stainless steel and don't take up much room.
3:25 - 4:10 - a life lesson for everybody right there cut down to under one minute. Love it Eva... I'm in school studying multimedia design to become a UI/UX web designer and in one year I'll be chasing down my dream of becoming a digital nomad. You're quite the inspiration!
You sure know how to tell an interesting story of transition from comfy home life to a new chapter in your life. Seeing your blue _Camping Gaz_ stove reminded me of my 6 weeks adventure driving a Morris Mini Van around Europe during the cold winter of December/January 1970-71, as I had a similar (possibly slightly smaller) one. It was enough for my great adventure from home in Perth, West Australia 🇦🇺
Have to admire your independence. I've been tied to a job for almost 30 years. Never had the courage to try something I really loved. Of course stability has it's perks as well so I guess everything has a trade off. Best of luck.
Travelled for 18yrs, back packing, boats, and vehicles. Ended up travelling light, a laptop bag with a days clothing my cowboy boots, bought clothes as and when. Be brave and enjoy the adventure
Eva, that was inspiring to watch :) Small idea from a trucklifer: replace the bulky baskets and boxes for clothing with fabric bags. Throw clothing into bags, place bags into your open-top wooden compartments. Yields 20% storage space and the time freed from folding clothes 😋
I was gonna comment about the same thing. Nothing should be getting inside of the hard packages, they are actually gonna forbidden too much extra space. For the Kitchen, if you store your spices in one full of pocket plastic bag would be easier to control. Do not use jars to store something unless needs to be stored in months. (jars to protect from bugs not for the storage ıf you have limited space)
Wow. What a great build/story/filming/edit; and you just you/mentality/personality/all that….I could list on forever, amazing. I’ll follow along your adventure, you have a virtual support crew. Safe travels and limitless horizons
Odyssey - Great name for the Defender! Loved your naming “ceremony”! I wish there could have been a crowd of thousands to see you off but then I realized there is! It’s all of us. Blessing for more awesome adventures. Thanks for taking us along!
I wouldn't use so many boxes inside the storage compartments, just chuck items straight in, or use soft bags. Same goes for running shoes, just use a (plastic) bag. Great build, ace videos, thanks Eva
You may have already done it, but add a dowel to the bottom of the curtains to add a bit of wait so they unroll nice and easy. It will also make rolling them up easier.
Who else is waiting impatiently each week to see these exciting videos?! I’m genuinely so happy for you Eva. I legit smile from ear to ear as you keep sharing your adventures. You’re an inspiration for me and others to truly live each day and take action towards our dreams ✨
100% agree with @AndreaGaitan I feel so happy and proud of her despite the fact that i don't know her personally. Such a real inspiration! Love from Kenya!
Im somewhat a mixture of envious, intrigued and curious of your journey but also in awe of the kind of spirt it takes to do what you are doing. All the best and keep up the grrat videos!
It is dangerous traveling alone. To get comfortable in a home is something that many people wish in life. It is great that you like adventure and you are very good at showing It to us.
It feels so good to see Eva loading her odyssey with her stuffs which fits perfectly. Also I have great respect for you for not paying attention to clothes and all. There are many youtubers, influence who struggle everyday about what to wear and be presentable and looking good. You are beyond everything. I love that. Your ultimate luxury is your odyssey. Love from India.
I can imagine how grateful and happy you were during this time, especially this exact moment I had to stop the video to comment this, when you toasted with the Defender - you would probably wanted to cry this moment - I would, for sure!

You need to get those small solar motion sensing led light to place around your truck, so if someone or any animal approches your car in the night, the lights of that side of truck turn on, blasting light in their eyes, and possibly scaring them away, as well as give you a better visual of your surrounding. Best of all these lights are a complete unit which you can stick to the car a small solar cell is attached at top or each light, so you dont need to worry about charging or wirings.

You are both fully aware of all nostalgic, comfort feelings and yet still strive and push your self to adventure! Eva your and inspiration to many keep it up!
Wow. This is incredible, you, the way you converted the odyssey and the editing 🙏👌 looking forward to living through you for the rest of the journey. The world belongs to the brave 🤟
I got chills in my whole body when I saw the stickers being put on. No measuring at all, I would never be able to do that. But after all with my way of building you would miss 4 months of your adventure! So I think you still win even tho your stickers are crooked 😅
I love you Eva. You make me feel alive. ❤ Hatts off to you because feeling alive, doing things that make you happy, being you is the hard part, however brave people risk, they risk and fight with the world for no-one but to be truly themselves because that's the real meaning of being alive is, to be you.
When we watch this, Eva is already living in her Defender.... "the world belongs to the brave" and on this note to Eva, YOU ARE ALREADY LIVING... keep on living...
@@barneybarret6088 You do realize that the great majority of land rovers are used in the city or the highway right? Only a very small fraction are used and prepared for actual off roading.
i would recommend insulation silver cutouts, don't put fabric on it since it weighs it down. Just spray high heat black on one side and keep lines vertical (not horizontal). It'll keep heat out and cold out. If it wears down, buy another roll.
I'm really impressed how your interior living area came out. Great wood working there! With the extra weight in the rear and on top, did you have heavier/stronger springs added to the rear axle? Be safe out there.
If you ever have kids one day....wow....the stories you will be able to tell them. What a gift...them watching your videos....They will be SO proud of having such a strong, fearless, beautiful and brave mama! They will tell their kids and grandkids about you with such pride and love. If you have a son he will adore this video!
I just bumped into your youtube channel, I'm from the Philipines. I admired you being a handywoman how you transformed your 4x4 into a mini home. Enjoy your expedition, adventure, and nature. Stay safe and healthy. Hope to be a friend. Always pray and take care. GOD Bless!
Loving this but imagine if some day she's crossing a strict border and the border control agents ask her to bring out EVERYTHING from the defender so they can inspect it... a nightmare
I think that's pretty unlikely. I travelled throughout Europe during the Cold War (1970/71) in a Morris Mini Van and crossed strict borders including East/West Germany, Check Point Charlie etc. They certainly scrutinised everything (wheeled mirrors under the van, poked fibreglass "fishing rods" into the fuel tank, peered into all our containers and searched them), but didn't empty stuff out onto the ground. Clearly they were looking for _"escaping East Germans"._
Wow, my wife and I did that exact trip one year ago. We started in Belgium for the Andre Rieu concert. Then to Germany to Wroclaw poland via train. Rented a car in Wroclaw and drove to Prague, then Bratislava, then Budapest Hungary down to Croatia, then on to Venice, then Pisa, then Porto Stefano, then Civita, then to Brindisi, then back up to Menton France, then to Bourdeaux then back to England via ferry. Then to Southhampton and back to Canada.
I am so happy for you and Odyssey. I have a Jeep Wrangler JK that I named the Sno-Goat I have equipped with all the camping gear, portable stove, camping mess kit, camp toilet, hammock tent, sleeping pad and everything else I needed to do off-road, cross-country camping trips. Sadly, after replacing the engine, I am currently experiencing major electronic issues in the engine computer and sensor modules so the Sno-Goat is out of commission temporarily, but I am working toward getting it back on the trails. I wish you luck and safety in your journies.
Wow, great this video. From comfort zone to 100% adventure. Something with small step and giant leap :-) So nice of you to undertake this adventure and super cool for us as followers to follow you with everything you're going to do! And that Odyssey may take you to the most beautiful places and areas. Suc6 and greetings from Holland!
Eva, you are absolutely INSPIRING, thank you for sharing your adventure and all the preparation. In the name of all the messy people out here, thanks for showing it's possible to put your life into something as little (or big) as a car. Keep on and have a great adventure!! Longing to see more of it. 😉🙌
Really love your truck transformation. New friend here from Guam 🇬🇺 I could probably see myself doing this, just get on the road and visit and discover new places after retirement.
Whatevery makes you happy is great! If planning makes you happy then it is perfect! At some point the urge to quit the planning and dreaming phase will probably be overwhelming, then you might find a way. But dont rush just because others urge you to, enjoy whatever is possible for now :)
I admit it was a bit of a punch in the gut....dreaming is all some of us have right now in this pandemic when job security is so important to make ends meet :(
I think one of the hardest things you’re doing is to try keep this vlogging genuine/authentic in terms of getting the right shots/angles of your actions - planned and thought out versus having the camera ready to share what’s on your mind or what you notice (like getting up to set the camera up versus being in front the camera to look like you’re getting up first time). Also, the time it takes to get your drone up and down just for a few seconds of aerial shots makes your video take your focus away from just living the ease of adventuring and enjoying the scenery with purely your full senses... Nevertheless, all the best with your nomadic, 4-wheeled adventure, and thank you for sharing these moments - I’ve been thinking for myself to travel like this too! 🙂 K.I.S.S - Keep It Simple and Surreal!
My off-grid expedition/camping range rover 2 door matches your land rover defender..... I also see myself fixing yours and mine every now and then 😂😂😂 deeply in love what you're doing to make life a series of adventures 😍❤

I'm here for this... *THIS WILL BE SO INTERESTING* 🔥
i love your cotent eva here from tanzania
You only comment EVERYWHERE to get attention for your pointless channel.
Omg you watch what I watch even her and Kelly stamps
Yes dear very interested
Hold up, I'm pretty sure i spotted u from jay palfreys video?
I've seen that at the morrocan border with Spain in ceuta
Your more than a content creator or youtuber, you are an inspiration to many Eva, keep going Girl because the world belongs to the brave ❤️🔥👍👍👍
Wow, great this video. From comfort zone to 100% adventure. Something with small step and giant leap :-)
So nice of you to undertake this adventure and super cool for us as followers to follow you with everything you're going to do!
And that Odyssey may take you to the most beautiful places and areas. Suc6 and greetings from Holland!
I adore her courage and determination to do the things she likes to do! ❤️
....and cash flow.
@@JRspeaking if I can get paid for traveling and doing videos ufffff that is like my ideal lifestyle she is so blessed 😄
Great episode Eva. Make sure you keep all those doors locked properly at night. Enjoy and stay safe. Can't wait to see more episodes.
Eva, you are absolutely INSPIRING, thank you for sharing your adventure and all the preparation. In the name of all the messy people out here, thanks for showing it's possible to put your life into something as little (or big) as a car. Keep on and have a great adventure!! Longing to see more of it. 😉🙌
“While planning and dreaming is nice; it’s not living”
LOVE that.
I feel like planning and dreaming are integral parts of living. All part of the glorious whole experience.
"While planning and dreaming is nice, planning and dreaming is not living"
I will always remember that.
What you said about the comfort zone really struck a cord in me - its definitely inspiring
A new adventure begins , so exited for her
Really love your truck transformation. New friend here from Guam 🇬🇺 I could probably see myself doing this, just get on the road and visit and discover new places after retirement.
Not going to lie, hearing "planning and dreaming is not living" kind of hurt. :(
C'mon Earl, don't let your dreams stay dreams
Whatevery makes you happy is great! If planning makes you happy then it is perfect! At some point the urge to quit the planning and dreaming phase will probably be overwhelming, then you might find a way. But dont rush just because others urge you to, enjoy whatever is possible for now :)
I admit it was a bit of a punch in the gut....dreaming is all some of us have right now in this pandemic when job security is so important to make ends meet :(
It did for me too, but it reminded me to not to let anyone define life or success for me.
He who plans once, plans twice ;)
How cool I can’t wait when you start travel to other continents
K.I.S.S - Keep It Simple and Surreal!
I love your lifestyle Eva It's so cool :) Thanks for sharing it with us regards Jacek
My off-grid expedition/camping range rover 2 door matches your land rover defender..... I also see myself fixing yours and mine every now and then 😂😂😂 deeply in love what you're doing to make life a series of adventures 😍❤
I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET ODYSSEY 🔥
2:20 And can confirm Eva is messy...
😂
Ok, we know you are with Eva already, don't need to remind that on every video's comment section
@@borjagonzalez6943 He wants to make his own comment too....& why can’t he not make his own comment in every video if he wants to especially that he ‘s the BF ?
Well I guess over time she will learn to be neat and tidy living in a small space👍
It's a great job done by u. How adorable. Wow...👍
Oh, what a surprise Eva, that ending scene in Croatia is so near me cause I live in Zadar, and that mountain range in the background is Velebit, my second home 😁 It would be so cool to show you some amazing spots around here, but of course you are long gone now, and I know you like to do stuff on your own 😁
Your entusiasm for this is amazing. Been seeing your videos for a min, and im exited for this next adveture :D
Thank you 🚜😜
Most of the people can’t go what you are doing that means you are living life while many are just making it, so you are lucky.
I am having goose bumps watching you leave home so happy for your future adventure s
Love your videos! You’re so brave! I wonder, do you have safety precautions since you are out alone often? Sending prayers for your beautiful journey wherever it takes you! 💕☺️
