dang man i don't know how much capital you have but that some risky move. I would wait for the bull to tire themselves out with a spinning top day and then reveal my hand. Don't think the AI hype peak just yet but it getting there.

Do you own the underlying shares? How do you short the stonk without options without owning the underlying security?
short sale shares. you can sell short shares from your broker. basically you borrow the shares at a certain cost from your broker, and then at a later time you have to buy the shares back to give back to your broker. And you keep the profit/loss difference.
So for example if he short sells shares at $950, buys to cover at $800, he makes a $150 per share profit (minus any interest and/or fees).

You borrow against the shares and when you cover/buy them back, you keep the spread between where you sold short, and where you covered
I bought two of the March 1 Puts today, risked what I could. If it doesn't drop enough then I can roll them. I have to do what I can. Even as expensive as they were, my risk is defined. Small account here.

Not for sure that we will reject here but def worth taking a position short in my opinion.
i hope you didn't hold this too long. If you short SMCI, you are basically shorting NVDA/AI. They are really the only solution for NVDA/AMD data centers (because of the strong business relationship the CEO has with Jensen Huang and Lisa Su) which are just really in the early stages of building out their AI data centers. You might catch this down to 750 but i really think thats the floor for the next few years. Disclosure: I am long SMCI
So if I was influential, and long SMCI in the beginning of a run, I would say I'm short 100k on some random video forum to some random people. Not saying you are, I'm saying I would.
With a $50 billion market cap it’s a long term 5x easy. Ai, profitable, 100% yoy growth. I don’t like trading but might have to sell Monday if it’s down.
Buy back in $700.s. Sell $900s again. But I’d love to see Monday up and hold $1000. I don’t feel safe shorting ai, profitable companies with 100% yoy growth. lol

Those wondering how he managed to short a stock that is super bullish and still got it right here is the reason "Super Micro Computer (SMCI) Announces Proposed Offering of $1.5 Billion of Convertible Senior Notes Due 2029" . This news helped his position as market did not like this news and hence the sell off. Can we say great coincidence ?
