Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is one of the most popular hill stations in India. In this video of Gangtok Tour, I have shown some of the most popular Gangtok Tourist Places.
Gangtok Ropeway
Cable car ride is most popular in Gangtok. The starting point of the ropeway is Deorali Bazar which is located in the heart of the city. This cable car provides a spectacular view of Gangtok in a ride of 15 to 20 minutes.
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology
A little away from the Gangtok Ropeway is the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology has preserved the country's rich past, religion and its precious culture. Its foundation was laid by the great Dalai Lama.
Do Drul Chorten
A short walk from the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is the Do Drul Chorten Stupa, which is considered one of the most important stupas in Sikkim. This stupa was built in 1946 by Trulshik Rinpoche, a teacher of the 14th Dalai Lama. The stupa's white dome with its golden spire is dedicated to Vajrakila or Dorji Rinpoche, an important deity of Tibetan Buddhism. The stupa has 108 prayer wheels with sacred mantras inscribed on them.
Enchey Monastery
Enchey Monastery, situated on the Nathula-Gangtok Highway, is a sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhists surrounded by natural beauty.
Flower Exhibition Centre
A few meters away from MG Marg is the Flower Exhibition Centre, which displays flowers from different parts of Sikkim. Although flowers are displayed throughout the year, the annual flower show held from April to May showcases varieties of orchids along with other flowers.
MG Road
MG Road is the central shopping hub of this beautiful state capital with various shops, restaurants and hotels on either side.
