Wow, I love Jordan's enthusiasm, especially when she found the ones big enough for a cocktail ring and earnings. What a fun place, Dan. Good luck with the claim.
Dan Hurd: Prospector to the stars.... Jordan Madley added a great vibe to the episode. Maybe the glee of trying something new and fun, maybe a great person in general. Learning about columnar basalt and gemstones from Dan is always interesting.
@@jonnydude90210 So im not the only one that have seen the video with Pauly and Jordan. 😊 I must say that I kinda fell in love with her personality back then. She is not just a beauty her self, she also has a great sense of humor. If you hang out with her you will never be safe for her shenanigans. 😂
I enjoyed you explaining, showing and practicaling geology to a pretty lady that was interested in learning, being shown and practicaling herself. Seriously, really enjoyed this one.
@@fishonkayakadventure well actually I did a small nail pulling tool at one point. Not intended for stone work but reasonably effective for this. I do love those wedges. They make a satisfying sound as they get tighter.
You can make a peridot ring that has a groove in the center with the small peridot dust. by laying it into the crevice with superglue as you turn the ring on a lathe. Like a silver ring with a green stripe in the middle
It’s so good to see someone just as excited, if not more excited than you, accompany you out there finding some real beauties. Need her in the channel some more. Her energy is contagious lol
Thats the way she is. Watched the video with her on Pauly's channel way back, and she has the same attitude and energy there. And she seems to always be either smiling or more common, laughing. 😂
I enjoyed this one the most because of Jordan and her infectious enthusiasm. I loved how she was so excited to find her crystals, she had me smiling the whole time. Please bring her back for more adventures.
Dear Mr Hurd, just a suggestion. Coat small crystal groupings like that in candle wax or rubber cement to hold them together when extracting. Thank you for all the content over the years, love it!
'Crystal/s' are referring to the structure of a particular mineral. Have a look at crystallography and mineralogy. Different minerals will have specific shapes depending on their chemical makeup. Fun but difficult to learn if your interested. Take care
That stuff is absolutely everywhere around kelowna There's like 5 spots. I can think of off the top of my head that you could drive a car to and yes there decent size
Yes, Dan took the club on a field trip to this spot, and one other. It was so much fun. The Big white site does not have very nice color. And the lighting peak site has its own issues.
Well that was fun and so kind of you to take the lassie oot and teaching her always great to watch and she was attentive willing and seemed to get a thrill when finding some stunning crystals
Love her excitement, and tbh I would be excited to be able to do this, Perdot was one of my wifes favourites. Theres nothing better with a subject like this than seeing someones love for what they are doing, a smile to warm a hardened heart
Well , your channel became much more attractive ( not because you removed your shirt). The addition of a beautiful young lady is always welcome. Thanks for the smiles.
For peridot fans out there (I am one) Pakistan produces largish crystals, often bounded by perfect faces, the size of the tip of your thumb. Not from basalt, rather an altered magnesite that has been metamorphosed by hot fluids. Gem rough dealers offer these, about the same price range as gem garnet.
@@jameswelch1054 Yes, Tanzania.. I just haven't cut any from there. Pakistan probably mines more, but the African material is abundant on the finished stone market.
Love this!!! She is so happy and we need more cool videos with special guests like her. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I hope she gets her earrings and ring!!!!! Out of that big pocket.
You always have such interesting guests thats was a super fun video. Also a peridot mine! Congrats Dan, that's super exciting! Gorgeous specimens, woo-hoo!
Beautiful gems! I'm definitely jealous! Wanted to make a couple points on what you were saying early on about the deposition of this material. Not that I'm disagreeing with you on how _this_ deposit occurred, but olivine can crystallize out of basaltic magma (though from the looks of this stuff, I'd agree with your xenolithic interpretation), and columnar basalt isn't always necessarily plutonic. If you have flood basalts that fill in deep troughs on surface, they can cool slowly enough to form columnar jointing. Great video, loved seeing you bring a noob out for such an exciting day, and best of luck moving forward with the permitting! Cheers!

My wife and I were on a hunt to find a Peridot necklace recently and were surprised by how hard it was to find anything. It sounds like your mine will do a lot to provide not only more Peridot, but the best quality Peridot to boot!
JORDON is so cute and fun, the pretty princess got her gems, she prettied up the channel, I bet she pretties up every room she enters, WOW! So happy you made her day. I tell you one thing if I had to run back to the truck for something for her I bloody would, and I have not ran in 25 years.😅

‘You had two questions’
Proof that Dan actually listens to other people. A rare skill!
If I remember correctly he was a metal shop teacher for quite a while so I’m sure he hasn’t lost those skills lol
Her excitement and wonder was delightful!
She made this one fun and asked stuff I would
This video had everything, the energetic supermodel, topless Dan Hurd and all.
And a camera guy in Crocs
She was asking all the right questions, and just the right amount of excitement. Dan Hurd doesn't go to Hollywood, they come to him!
What a bundle of energy!!!! You should have her on again...❤
Looks like Dan found a gem, and some gemstones too!
feme fatal was worth the watch lol
Dan found an excuse to show off his pecs, lol.
Is it just me, or is a all rock hounders get the giggle when they find the beauty? I love this!

the funniest and most energetic guest you have had on the channel. Yes, bring her back if you can.
It's great watching your gem hunt. I, too, found myself with a Heavy backpack after a day of looking for buried treasure

Wowza Jordan is a real gem, and for being 45 (5 days older than me) she's certainly not showing it! Her energy stole my heart.
Hounding for gems never gets old. Thanks, Dan!

I have some Peridot from the San Carlos Indian reservation. Beautiful!!
