I sprayed mine with PJ1 gloss black epoxy. Working time was too short. I’ll try this method on the next bike. Smart because you don’t need masking or full tear down.
Excellent. I bought an 03 gs500 that had sat in a paddock for 2 years, just as a commuter, and the whole frame is peppered in light surface rust. I didnt want to do a full tear down and spray, it just needs to not be too noticeable. Nice technique
Perfect timing I'm almost down to the strip down after getting it running well on one carb anyway nice hear after 25 years , think ill keep the old carbs and add upgrades and move on with the reset of the build. Frame is covered now thanks for the info. 73 CL350 K
@@motorcyclerewind Actually I have painted some metal items (with more surface area than your frames) with oil based enamel paint and just an old beat up regular paint brushes (not a foam) and it turned out well (little to no brush strokes showing, no runs). I used the worse brushes I had so I just threw the brushes away and did not bother cleaning them). Next time I might try a foam. My conclusion is it is easier to paint with a brush than go through the ordeal of masking, using a sprayer, cleaning sprayer, more runs with sprayer (imo), more thinning with sprayer (I did not thin anything), most of the time can get by with one coat with brush (with no sanding), and finish is comparable most times. Your right when you say 'if it works, it can't be bad.' Sometimes I wonder if some people who go through elaborate painting efforts are akin to Drama Queens.
Rustoleum in the can lays down really smooth but it is not fuel resistant. I have used POR-15 also. The Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black is bay far my favorite.
It dries really hard. I would imagine it will last. You ask a good question and inspired me to do a performance test video of the Eastwood chassis black. Coming soon.
Really glad I came across this.
It comes out so good. Thanks for watching.
Algorithms did Me good tonight! Exactly what I'm needing.
Salute
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching

Agreed! I really like the fact that I can paint a frame with the engine still in it.
Glad to see someone else doing this. I’m about to try this method on the frame of a 75 f150 chassis
It works really good on these motorcycle frame. I have a ‘78 F-150 4x4
@@motorcyclerewind nice! Wish mine was 4x4 but it’s a 2wd long bed haha
Just did my 750k8 and the result is so satisfying! thank you for the idea! saved me a lot of time, I did sanding it down a little bit tho.
It works so much better than you think it would. Shocks me every time. Thanks for watching.
Genius! I am definitely trying this instead of the rattle can. Thanks so much, glad I found this- new follower👍🏼
Awesome thanks. I have used both the Eastwood chassis black and POR-15 to great results. Think I like the Eastwood a bit better.
Excellent paint job Sir
Thanks for watching.
Amazing!! The solution I was looking for
Awesome, Glad to hear. I have done several bikes like this and really love how easy it is and how good it looks.

I heard that foam brushes work so well many autobody shops are selling their sprayers/compressors and painting everything with foam brushes.
I wouldn’t blame them. 🤣😂🤣 They work pretty good in this application

Hello. Nice video. What's the treatment you will do ln the gas tank after vinagre treatment?
I did the POR-15 motorcycle tank liner on it. Thanks for watching.
Looks great , what did you put on the rust bits . Cheers Wales uk🏴
Converted the rust on the frame with DupliColor Rust Barrier. Soaked the chrome pieces in Evapo-rust. amzn.to/4bbrdYu
Great video mate, did you have to rough up the existing paint or will it go on straight over the top?
Quick wire brush to get off any loose stuff and scotch brite before painting.
@ cheers mate thanks, just about to do an old chopper so this was perfect timing
It’s crazy how good it comes out. I really like the Eastwood Chassis Black. Have used POR-15 and Rustoleum also.
what is your opinion of plain old rustoleum in comparison to this eastwood chassis paint?

How long would this last on a frame?
