Today I went down to Miami to visit the largest exotic bird store I know. It was awesome! Beautiful birds, spacious place and awesome aviaries!

Beautiful! I could do a ton of damage there. I love bottlebrush perches. All of my birds have at least one in their cages. I also like cholla wood. My birds seem to like it. Wood toys! Do they breed their birds? As I said, a dangerous place! I’m jealous. We have 3 very nice stores but that store is the bomb! Thanks for sharing. ❤️👏👏 ❤

This was a fun visit to start the new year! All those wooden toys for the birds, like a candy store 😍 interesting to see all those different perches and the larger outdoor aviary. Haha your voice when you mentioned the hyacinth macaw😂
Yeah - my flock is complete, but I have a friend… if he gets me a Hyacinth…. I’ll need more wooden toys!

@@ParrotBliss I have not. I want to be able to meet the bird first to make sure it’s a good fit for our home. That’s my only hesitation. I’m thinking of flying back down and actually going there to see the birds in person.
@@HeritageHighlandAcres I think that’s wise. I like to say that you have to make sure you ‘click’ with the bird.
@@ParrotBliss exactly. What I love about birds is they are not domesticated but still “wild”. So when they click with you is special because unlike dogs and cats they aren’t genetically wired to just like you. But I do want to add a Senegal to my flock, I just need to make sure it’s the right one.

Aww man I’d be in heaven. NZ has absolutely nothing like that here 😢. It’s so hard to get anything decent for Birds here 😢.

@@ParrotBliss I wish, I have to get a lot of stuff online and that makes things difficult when a lot of stuff you can’t import. Australia is so much better in regards to options for Birds 😕.

No they don’t breed. A lot of GCC! If you are in the market for one, they ship and they have great prices. If so, tell them I sent you :)
@@ParrotBliss thanks, good to know. but when I get one I’m gonna go down there and bring it home. Personally I can’t see anyone shipping and taking that chance. I don’t trust the airlines and can’t see putting that poor bird thru such an ordeal without personal monitoring.
@@hammer-r they told me they have never lost a baby- still they prefer not to ship for that reason. I’m with you- I’m sure it’s fine, but… I’ve never shipped.
@@ParrotBliss your so lucky to live in the state where most breeders are. I’d have a hard time not getting more birds with the candy store so close. Lol
I used to have a female Eclectus I adopted from someone in my vet sci class, she was not a nice parrot at all. She once chased me across my living room with her beak wide open. After doing some research after we re homed her to some with more experience with them found out that the females are more aggressive then the males, the males are more loving once you bond with them. Wish I knew then what I know now from watching your channel I would have tried harder to form a bond with her instead of re homing she was Beautiful the family before named her Katie.
You know Kara, I sorta want an Eclectus. However, I know they are asiatic. I’m having an interesting experience with my Indian Ringneck vs my Quakers. It is showing me - which I already knew- that asiatic parrots just don’t bond as deeply. It’s nice if you want a parrot that lives with you, but not on you and not cuddling. Ringnecks are the same, the hens aren’t as sweet. Sorry about Katie, I can relate. Do you have parrots now?
@@ParrotBlissEclectus parrots definitely aren’t the most cuddly but they are very sweet I know some Eclectus’s (males) that are super sweet, can talk, and are very smart and goofy.

Indeed! Ben, I forget, are you in FL? Someone said it’s like a candy store for kids… maybe ‘fids!’
