Ngl was rooting for Uchimura the whole way through, but I think it's just so amazing how Verniaiev reacted, if I were in his position I would be absolutely devastated, it was just one little hop, yet it costed a gold medal! But the fact that he recovered so well and hugged Uchimura he truly is an amazing athlete and gymnast.
It's not just about one little hop, Verniaiev's difficulty score is not that high I think, because you can see his series is not as complex as Uchimura's. Easier series with little poor dismount, that is the reason why his score is total one point lower than Uchimura, who is more ornamental and perfect in dismount.
For Verniaiev he had never thought of the possibility of beating uchimura until the competition, he never expected to win as he was against the greatest gymnast of all time
He was incredible I mean imagine losing to the greatest gymnast of all time by only one tenth that’s incredible
I thought he acted like a jerk.
he even defend uchimura in an interview afterwards.
Khoei and Oleg are obviously ahead of their time! Such a big margin, amazing competition!

David Beliavsky 5th in 2012, and 4th in 2016, my favorite ever, sadly now Arthur Dalaloyan and Nikita Nagorny are oing to make AA final in 2020 because of "2 per country rule"
yeah in my opinion that's a stupid rule because they are pretty much discriminating people for their nationality. If you are better than others, you should be able to compete even though there are already 2 of your same country. Not fair at all.

I feel like men’s should include more personality/dance moves because in women’s gymnastics there’s more of a dance aspect to it while men’s is just like 6 passes with 2-3 other tricks in it

There used to be more flair to men's floor exercises until the open-ended code. But I personally think they should increase the time from 70 to 90 seconds and cap the number of tumbles at 6.

They are forbidden in the women's competition. The men are still allowed to do it. The women, however, are allowed to do leaps or jumps out of their tumbling passes (like the stag jump) which the men don't do.
They were forbidden in mag after the olympics in rio
