    You should cover the corner pieces of the exposed hardware cloth. The exposed ire mesh will slice water logged skin pretty easily.

    This is just a suggestion, there my man. If you tie small floats fishermen use on their nets - one or two per side - you wouldn't have to hold your screen up when you have the heavy gravels on your screen. I watched one of your videos, the one with the croc teeth, old and new, you were struggling a little bit. You wouldn't be so strung out at the end of the day, like you were then.

      Yeah lol I was overloading the screen for sure! Hahahaaaa

      @@DigLifeCrisis Yeah you were. But...like I mentioned, it would be good for you to find out where the fishermen in your area buy their floats. They could be a little expensive for what you want them for, but it would save on your back. I know here in Newfoundland, Canada they are a little expensive, being a longtime fisherman myself. But not anymore. I hope that helps in your adventures.

    Cool video! Looks like it will catch teeth! Since I go to the beach once every ten years, I have time to make it! 😂👍🏻

      They work very well! Just make sure ya get the 1/4" mesh so you can catch the juvenile megalodon teeth! I also upgraded to 3/4" pvc as well, so try that with the normal sized pool noodles from Walmart :)

      Yeah man, super easy! Thanks! Since this video I have upgraded to 3/4" pipe, and started using the normal sized pool noodles. Goodluck!

    Thanks for the video sir been looking at building one myself! Did you buy the pvc pipe precut or did you cut that yourself

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey man, thanks for watching! I bought 10' sections of the 1/2" pipe for $1.81 at home depot. I cut them myself at 18". Easy peazy

      DENNISDMENACE S doable with a hacksaw?

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used like a mini hacksaw lol like a craft saw or something. Hacksaw would work tho I'm sure. Just make sure u send down the ends of the pvc before you assemble and you're good to go

    Great video! We are headed to Venice, FL this summer for a week long vacation. Wondering if you could tell me your cost for the supplies for one sifter? Thanks for the video!! Happy hunting!

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The roll of wire is $15. 2 pool noodles run ya like 3 bucks each. Zip ties run ya about $7. I'd say $30 to be safe

    • @lgri5th
      @lgri5th 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DENNISDMENACE S Wow! Quick response! Thank you and I think that price is very reasonable and it’s going to be a great ‘project’ for me and my 16 year old son!

      Lol yeah I always have my phone handy. It's a cool little project and fun, but watch the wire lol it'll poke ya

    Is that 1/4 hardware cloth? Do you have problems with it rusting? Thanks for sharing. Gonna make one as well!,,

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah haven't had a problem with it rusting. It's the 1/4" wire mesh roll from home depot. I have also upgraded to the 3/4" pvc piping too

      Thanks for the video. May I ask why you upgraded to 3/4 pvc? Also, what department did you find the mesh? TIA.

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found a location that had bigger gravel that the smaller sifters couldn't handle lol and I don't remember what department it was in. In ours it's in the far back right side of the store by some kind of fencing or something

  • @hanley1996

    Are these the regular pool noodles or the larger ones? Hard to tell.

    • @DigLifeCrisis
      @DigLifeCrisis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are the regular ones here. I also upgraded to 3/4" pvc instead of the 1/2". Buddynof mine recently built me one with the huge ones on it lol I havent had the chance to use it yet tho
