Definitely not a waste of time. Old game boxes like this are rare and works of art, and obviously this is a very iconic one. I don't even try to collect the boxes since they are so expensive now but if someone gave me this I would definitely display it.
Really nice! Pop that in a plastic coffin and the patina encased in a glossy box will make it look like a real museum piece. So glad you saved that one from the bin!
As someone who's on the hunt for a box to complete my original Zelda, the more of them there are in the world the better. And I'd be very happy if I came across one in that condition. Great work!
@@gingerhippygaming7962 ive been working all day on this trubo grafx mini box. Amazon put 2 huge stickers on the outside of th box. luckily it's a pretty glossy box but the stickers are totally stuck . Thanks Amazon
Well played Si mate!! Looks 10 times better and good on you for trying to and saving this box most would have just thrown out. Respect, nod and handshake to you good sir 😎👌🏴👍
You did a great job with that, mate. Like you said state it was in it would've only went in the bin anyway so no harm in trying. Makes me want to repair my damp damaged snes boxes for link to the past and starwing.
Wonderful work, but not finished. Put the Box in a Room with an Supersonic Air Cleaner to get the completly Moisture out of the Paper. Kind regards from Vienna, Chris.
If you wanna try something, I've heard using a Iron like for clothes can help make the box more cripsy and less wrinkling. Only issue is I don't know if it would damage it more or what
While some people find it to be travesty, i usually do color over those spots with color markers and i wish you would do this the same, this has so much potential to look almost new with some coloring
Great work mate, I've been meaning to do similar with my Atari Pacman box which is not only squashed but quite ripped and missing flaps so won't be able to repair as good as yours but should be able to improve it a fair bit. You've inspired me to get on with it hopefully next weekend or two if I get chance.
mate you put that in a clear plastic protector and cut a block of styrene to put in the bottom of it and thats better than most of the ones ive seen in cex!
@ginger hippy gaming If you place it into a box with a dehumidifier it will keep it from molding. Like just a laundry hamper with a towel on top. 24 hours or less should do not to long. Because of the water you used to straightin it out. Only reason I know this is because I used to work with cardboard and it's definitely unsealed card stock. I'm sure the wax coating has done and gone quite a bit.

Better than being in the bin
That what we did In the 90s the trash 🗑 😢😅
No value in them in the 90s
Yeah but no one new that they were going to be collectibles so we just threw the box away
Is that water ?
Yes
Boy done good!
No pens needed lol
@@gingerhippygaming7962 never are.

I'd personally also put it in a box protector after as well to stop it wanting to warp back to it's previous shape.
