These Lionel 0-8-0 sets are good looking, except almost all of them are inaccurate. The Pennsy's 0-8-0's had belpaire fireboxes (this model doesn't), didn't have cutout tenders (This model one does), and were never used for mainline service, just switching. (This set depicts mainline service.) The UP never had 0-8-0's (as far as I can tell from research), etc.

Well a child playing with this isn’t gonna know that. This is a toy. Not a model. Low end, not-road specific details like you mentioned, the firebox, kids aren’t going to know that!!!!!
